Where do Evil Spirits Come From featuring @DRMSH
People assume that the demons in the gospels are fallen angels, but all the traditions, including the biblical ones, associate the demons with the spirits of the giants born of the transgression of the Sons of God in Genesis 6. Check this out.

No, We Don t Need a Third Temple for the End Times Featuring @DRMSH @AWKNGInc
Переглядів 58Місяць тому
I would always ask the question, why do we need a literal temple to have a literal kingdom? Because we do have a literal Kingdom at the end of the book of Revelation, and we don't have a temple. So I don't really see why we need one now. I would suggest to you that if a temple gets rebuilt today, and there is no temple at the end of the book of Revelation, that like something happens to that te...

What Does it Mean to Deliver Someone to Satan featuring @DRMSH

#Theology #Bible #MichaelHeiser To be delivered unto Satan means you are kicked out of the church. Why? The church is holy ground. It is a new Israel. The church is the place where the presence of God is. In the case of one who is expelled, the destruction of the flesh (1 Corinthians 5:5) could mean lots of things, it doesn't mean he's instantly going to be killed. It just means that if he's le...
What Spiritual Warfare Actually Means featuring @DRMSH

When I get asked what is spiritual warfare, okay, it's not shouting at demons. It's not these confrontational things that we think of as spiritual warfare, like we're Ghostbusters or something. How Did Ancient Israelites View Human Depravity Featuring @DRMSH

So, what happens in Genesis 3, if that's the explanation for all of the human evil, for depravity, you would think somebody would quote it in the rest of the Old Testament, but they don't. So that's an issue. And for Second Temple Jews, there were two reasons for human depravity: One is the Genesis 3 episode, and the other was the story of the Watchers, or 1 Enoch's version of Genesis 6:1-5. Ch...

"Yahweh is the God of gods." Well, not really, because there aren't any other ones. But again, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense in a lot of passages, but we define monotheism that way. The Spiritual War During the Crucifixion featuring @DRMSH

Psalm 22 has been recognized by Christians as a psalm that predicts the crucifixion. However, there is a strange reference to "the bulls of bashan". I don't know if he ever mentions that Enoch was written by dozens of different authors, most of them anonymous, the latest addition being written by a Rabbi in the 5th Century. Why would I trust anything it says as being inspired, or should I ask, inspired by whom?

    • @vsartale
      @vsartale 19 днів тому

      Dr. Heiser has said on many occasions that Enoch (among other books quoted) that are non-canonical doesn't lend credence to think a book outside the Bible (Old & New Testament) is inspired. He also gives a brief history of Enoch, including the fragments found prior to the 5th Century. Your question is well received!!

    • @nicechock
      @nicechock 6 днів тому

      Its irrelevant who wrote them. Most of the prophet did not right their own passage a scribe or someone else wrote them down.

      I dont think Enoch was originally written down at all. It came from oral traditions from Adams sons. All the written down writings came much after. Same goes for alot of the prophets.

    A big difference between the chronology in Genesis and other ancient chronologies is that the numbers in Genesis are like a set of Lego blocks. You can count the years from the flood until the birth of Abraham, and the years from the birth of Abraham to the death of Joseph. In Genesis there are 292 years from the flood to the birth of Abraham, and 360 years from the birth of Abraham to the death of Joseph. Factor each number and discard 2 and 3 factors, then multiply the factors 5 and 73; you get 365. This works independently of either modern hypothesis, the Late and the Early.

    • @vsartale
      @vsartale 13 днів тому

      What would be the significance of the mathmatical approach you suggest?

  •  Місяць тому

    Most of archaeological "evidence" for this or that written in the Bible, did not exist yet when Genesis and Exodus events occurred. 100 or so years before the Exodus events, Akhenaton tried to make his own version of "monotheism". This according to the "LATE chronology hypothesis". As a scholar, I think it is comfortable to deal with hypothesis instead of "written-on-stone" declarations. As for the book of Genesis, there are enough data and declarations as to demolish the faith of the reader himself.

    50:00 Speaking of the Revelation 12 sign, someone out there with more academic access than me please look into comparing the Rev 12 sign to the very SIMILAR sign in September 2017, where interestingly, Jupiter appeared in the midst of the loins of Virgo! Jupiter-anciently known as Tzedek or "righteousness"- Wasn't there a FALSE Lord of Righteousness foil character in the Scriptures? Does that not depict the one we traditionally call the Antichrist? Jupiter, the WANDERING star?

    Did Paul have the ‘free will’ to leave the Christian faith? He could say , ‘No, I will not follow,’? He in fact had said that as he held the murderers’ garments as they stoned Stephen. Then Jesus said, ‘I will show you what you will suffer for me’, and then did. Our freedom is a game we play with God. We are children playing with matches in a gunpowder factory. Our freedom is to wallow in our own self righteousness and rail against God right up to the point where He slaps us to earth with a blinding blow and then after he has our attention strips us of our pretenses of freedom and replaces it with love and instruction.

    • @vsartale
      @vsartale Місяць тому

      Sure, Paul does heave free will to leave the faith, but he didn't, he ran the good race. Solomon, left and followed other gods, Apollos left Paul, other unnamed people were recorded as also leaving the faith. Seems evident from Scripture people can and have walked away. Your comment is well received, thanks for your questions.

    Dr Heiser seems to believe that our choice is determinative of our salvation. That it is the key to our salvation. Predestination counsels against that conclusion as does Jesus in Matthew 7. The reason it matters is, if we think that way we then believe we can make a choice that can change God’s choice that was made before we were made. We have liberty to choose, God has power to ignore our choice.

    • @vsartale
      @vsartale Місяць тому

      Dr. Heiser does not believe salvation is determined by one's own choice. He teaches and believed God motivates the person, additionally he taught we have free will to reject the Gospel or even leaving the Christian faith altogether.

    Elect/Predestined Acts 13:48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed. Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. I don’t think Dr. Heiser understands the words, ‘predestination’, ‘ordained’ or even ‘elect’. The scriptures are thick with these terms, and in each case it is always in reference to God’s choice as to whom he will give or withhold eternal life and never man’s choice to take it, or reject it. It is true that I have liberty. But I do not have authority or power other than what God allows. With what liberty I possess I choose God. The sovereign God, with all authority and power will judge my choice. There can be no other Gods before Him, even the god of human liberty.

    Thutmose III was the father of the exodus pharoah. Who raised Moses. Amenhotep II was the pharoah of the exodus. The “young and arrogant” pharoah that came into power after his long-reigning father died before Moses came back. And it just so happens he was reigning in: 1446BC. He began his reign in roughly 1450BC. Also, whoever the scribe was that changed the name of the land of Goshen (Avarice) to “Pi Ramsses” was an idiot. Causing soooo much UNneeded confusion, he didn’t help anything by updating the text to reflect the more modern name of the area. Everyone back then would have known what you were talking about if left the same, just like today if you call Thailand Siam, or call somebody from there Siamese instead of “Thai” , most people will know what you’re talking about because that is the old name of the place and people... There is provable evidence is DID indeed happen in 1446BC under Amenhotep. It’s all over the place. All the way down to him capturing over 101,000 new slaves at once (a completely unheard of number for one conquest period back then) to replace the work force he just lost to rebuild Egypt. ALSO, the carbon dating of the shroud of Turin has been PROVEN FALSE. They literally, and purposely, took a piece from the PATCH JOB of the corner of the shroud after it was patched up in a fire in said Middle Ages. Period. And it is not a reproducible image, they have tried and it’s abhorrent looking, it’s nothing like the image imprinted on the shroud at all; in 2024 now they’ve proven it to be from the first century. It is a literal photograph of the resurrection. It’s 100% legit. It just really sucks Dr. Heiser passed before this information came to light 8 years later. He would’ve found that confirmation of the 1st century date fascinating. Not to mention they’ve literally found blood patterns from the literal crown of thorns on it, among multiple other things that prove it is the burial cloth of the Lord.

Not sure Dr Heiser understands ‘predestination’, ‘ordained’ or perhaps ‘elect’. The scriptures are thick with these terms alway in reference to God’s choice, not man’s. As time passes I am more convinced that the Biblical concept of God choosing those to whom he gives eternal life is repugnant to men because it ultimately makes clear to whom all power and authority belong. We have freedom but not power to overwhelm God’s sovereignty. If God chooses us we will go, if He chooses not us, we are at liberty to storm the gates of heaven but we will not prevail. With what liberty I have I choose God. With all authority God judges my choice.

    I think there needs to be a person between archeologists and biblical scholars. I don't think people should take the Bible and try and force archiology to fit it. I think archeology should do it's own work then researchers should collate the findings and then biblical scholars should see if anything matchs up. That way facts are never lost and where hard evidence backs up scripture it can be shown.

    • @vsartale
      @vsartale 2 місяці тому

      Great question... A prophecy is received by dream, vision or direct contact from God or one of His loyal Spiritual Beings going to the person. That person has the "free will" to either pronounce the prophetic message or not. I should also mention, this is different than seeking a prophecy by human means, like seeking a medium or some other spiritual practice, which is also a "free will" decision. Hope this provides some perspective.

    • @intentionally-blank
      @intentionally-blank 2 місяці тому

      Let me see if I understand your query. God as the creator of time knows the beginning to the end of a thing. While it seems a man’s choices are fluid God has seen it all even before a thought, an act, and the result. Prophecy is a declaration of this as proof that his word is supernatural and can be trusted as true. LMK

    I have been to many Churches within the Southern Baptist/Christian denominations and have never heard a Pastor or teacher, teach this! It opens up the Word of God into a better understanding! So exciting! Praise Holy Spirit for filling Michael with His light! Thanks to Michael’s family for allowing his teachings out to the world of believers! May God continue his blessings upon y’all! In Jesus name, Amen 🙏🏻

    Thanks for posting this. I find some of the vehement comments in strange juxtaposition. Michael makes it pretty clear the ideas presented are "not his own" but a compilation of ideas presented since antiquity. Listening to this lecture, the listener needs to approach this like a court case: The prosecution will have one interpretation and the defense will have another interpretation from the same source documents. The jury is going to have to make a decision on which of these two interpretations is true. That is a fair struggle that all of us have to do in every aspect of life - including what we believe about some theological position. IT'S UP TO US, don't get lazy, get busy, START LOOKING IN SCRIPTURE to see what is the case YOU HAVE for what you believe about any theological position. YOU NEED TO OWN THAT. It's our responsibility to seek, sift and then decide.
