Love the series . Good stuff
@rodneyjackson528 thanks a lot!
How come ya went away from shooting thorn broadheads?
@Offshore_drifter I just wanted a change, Thorn make amazing broadheads, I just wanted to shoot more fixed blades, and Thorn's Crown fixed blade isn't legal for public land, so it limited my hunting options.
Deleted the last comment as it seems our senses of humor are most deff not the same ...i enjoy your content bro ..i have been hunting out of the cottage for almost 10 years and have learnt alot about the place from your hunts ...
@paulschwass830 lol nah it's all good, I read things, then I'm like "I'll reply later," then completely forget 😂 I'm glad you can learn something from my hunts.
Cool mate I booked myself in for a week after one of your videos here. Hoping to get my first deer with the bow. Have had plenty of goats but just nit managed a deer yet.
Awesome mate, good luck!
Where is this spot in New Zealand mate ?
North Waikato, thanks for watching!
Love your content bro ..trooper you just keep at it regardless of success or not 😎✌️
@paulschwass830 when you enjoy being out there, they're all successful hunts 😉 Thanks for watching!
Awesome video. Seems like a lot of great animals from your intro.
Thanks a lot! Yeah it's a pretty special place
Great video mate. I took up bow hunting a year and a half ago. Have got a few goats so far and missed a good opportunity on a deer but I'm mostly hunting public and struggling to find deer. I would love to hunt a place like this. Is it paid block?
@CrazyAboutFlyFishing Thanks for watching! Yeah it's a paid block, bowhunting only which is nice.
Nice one again brother! Nice quality video! Keep up the good work!
@liwei9574 thanks mate, appreciate it!
Excelente día de caza hombre, felicitaciones por tu esfuerzo.
Great accurate man
Great video. You at least got to do the opening if nothing else. Just a couple of suggestions get a half dozen parrie decoys for you spread but have them separate from mallards as they don't really mix in the wild . And keep your decoys in abit closer no more then 25 meters out if you don't want to spend to much on Decoys look on trade me this time of the year . Are you shooting 3s in 36 gr
@brendont1082 Yeah I need some parries in my spread for sure, I shoot 4s for ducks, and 2s for bigger birds.
@@jchunting I would look at getting some 3s as well in either 36 gr or 40gr use 4 first then a couple of 3s as backup in your gun each time to give you some hard hitting. And to save money make some more swan silhouettes to go on poles could do the same if you have kids get them to help you. I just use long bamboo sticks you can buy cheap and are lite weight. Oh and to give you decoys some movement tie two together so they swim in a line have the line going to maimai so you can pull the line to make the decoys move and they look like they are swimming hope you don't mind me giving you these suggestions just think it will help to get better results
@brendont1082 appreciate the tips, I have thought about the ducks on a line for movement, also looked into wobblers, think it would get a few other decoys moving at the same time
It opens in june how
@Furyfusion1 I'm not sure where you are, but in Auckland/Waikato, it's the first weekend of May
@@jchunting I'm in Pakistan
@@jchunting good luck mate 😍
Just a word of advice, take the sling off your gun it will help you swing through the shot. Also lead the shot a bit more and keep swinging through the trigger pull. All the best with future future waterfowling. I just finished the Northland season with 126, time to get back into bowhunting
@kellymcconnell2436 yeah I'm not the greatest shot in the world haha, thanks for the advice!
Great video dude. And thanks for the subtitles when you were whispering too.
The wind can be a bit of a bastard on microphones when you're trying to talk quietly haha. Thanks a lot for watching!
Cool
The Red Deer (Cervus elaphus) is a large deer native to Europe, it is the fourth largest extant deer species belonging to the genus Cervus and the fifth largest deer alive today, there are in fact over ten recognized red deer subspecies under two subspecies groups, which are the Cervus elaphus hippelaphus group (Southern Red Deer) that contains the Crimean Red Deer (Cervus elaphus brauneri), the Pannonian Red Deer (Cervus elaphus pannoniensis), the Alpine Red Deer (Cervus elaphus hippelaphus), the Mesola Red Deer (Cervus elaphus italicus), and the Iberian Red Deer (Cervus elaphus hispanicus) and the Cervus elaphus elaphus group (Northern Red Deer) that contains the Swedish Red Deer (Cervus elaphus elaphus), the Norwegian Red Deer (Cervus elaphus atlanticus), the Scottish Red Deer (Cervus elaphus scoticus), the English Red Deer (Cervus elaphus englandensis), and the Irish Red Deer (Cervus elaphus hibernicus).
That's pretty cool to know, I might have to make a check list and try and get one of each, a Red Deer Slam of sorts!
Nice video again bro, Just wondering if you can share the hunting ground, is it in Doc land or private one,
This is on private property. Thanks a lot for watching!
Which councils doing that mate?
Auckland
Awesome vid, great that you keep in all the ups and downs, makes it fun to watch and adds realism 🏹
Thanks a lot for watching, appreciate the feedback!
Mean mate good shot pole axe that red 👌 what caliber was that??
It's a .300 Win Mag. Thanks heaps for watching!
Watch all your videos mate. Love your channel especially your bow hunting. Ime a wanganui hunter done a lot of hunting around the Waitangi station area. 👍👌
@Dean-hh3ri well I appreciate it. Sorry there isn't more bowhunting content, it's been a bit quiet lately whenever I take the bow out.
Love that station! Thanks for the vid and tip on gopro 👍🏻 Yes those hills are steep. Love that you keeping it real with the heavy breathing. Feedback: check your bow hand, seems you are grabbing it on the shot.
Yeah I do tend to have a habit of catching the bow when the shot breaks, really hard habit to break. Thanks a lot for watching!
grate vid mate was this filmed after the 10 dec 2023 their was a sheep in ur vid we though we hit on our trip but never found
This was filmed the first weekend of February this year, so the sheep was still alive and kicking. Thanks a lot for watching!
The challenges of bow hunting in that terrain is off the charts. More rugged than where i used to hunt in the New Mexico mountains it appears. 👍👍👀
It's definitely a challenge, but that's why we do it right? Thanks a lot for watching!
Hi from kiwi from Cambridge living perth bow hunt here wa good vid bro. Good tip on boots. Taught us nz army look after your feet they your wheels happy safe hunting bro
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks a lot for watching!
I just recently found out that wild turkeys live in New Zealand. If you ever get a chance to hunt turkeys in any of the southern US states I’d encourage you to take it. A lot of people hunt them here and they are as wild as you will find.
Hey chap, how did the Maori Chief cook up? Maybe try a cluster of kinas in a slightly deeper spot for snapper next time you have go. Looked a bit shallow and expensive what you were doing there.
I don't know what you mean by Maori Chief, sorry. Yeah was a bit expensive, was really just doing the best I could with what I was able to access, big things will be coming from now on though. Thanks heaps for watching!
Good video but we don't need the music it was annoying as
Fair enough, thanks for the feedback!
Hi Jc, love your hunting videos mate, i am based in auckland, i was wondering if you can share where you go hunting for goats, or any contacts, i am willing to pay or whatever cost if thats the case, please mate..thanks.
Hey mate, thanks a lot for watching! Don't pay for goats, there's an abundance of them on farmland, that farmers want gone. Just drive around until you see goats on farmland, my advice is around Hunua, go knock on the door with a box of beer, the beer is just a gift so the farmer hears you out, then tell about who you are, and that you'd like to help them out by knocking over a few goats, there's a high chance they'll tell you to go for it, but always respect their right to say no. If by some chance they do say no, try again with the neighbours on either side. Good luck, and happy hunting!
congratulations !!! you have hunted a domestic goat 😅😅😅
Wild goat mate. But whatever makes you feel better about yourself 👍
Awesome trip , Nice bit of conservation 🍺🍺
Gotta be done aye, don't want another scorched earth policy coming through. Thanks for watching!
how do you apply for the ballet
The DOC website, all the information is on the there, and it's pretty straight forward. Good luck!
Well done bro. Good effort.
Appreciate it. Thanks for watching!
Damn I can't wait to move up from rabbits to bigger game
Good stuff mate👍🏻
Appreciate it!
Blardy ripper , Enjoy that fresh meat
Nice work bro
Thanks heaps!
Nice well done
Thanks a lot!
Didn’t realise you could shoot the flats on the lower caples block?
This is true. According to the boundaries defined on Topo50 maps, the deer was inside the boundaries, although only just, thanks a lot for watching!
on ya mate
Thanks heaps!
Great video! Good shot. I shot a black fallow buck just like yours way up in Steele Creek, in the Greenstone Valley, in May, 1974, during a six-day trip into there. Also shot black fallow bucks in the Paparoa Range in 1972. Check out my hunting memoir 'RED DEER WRITING', now available in its new edition through any bookshop in NZ.
Paparoa herds barely hanging on. 1080s completely ruined
Fallow spread like crazy. In 1972 they were almost everywhere in the Paparoa Range, and we shot ours in the southern part of the range near Barrytown. Fallow have during the past 20 years spread up the Wilberforce and the Rakaia, and into the front hills around Glentunnel and Springfield.
Thanks heaps for watching!
Absolutely fantastic upload bud 🥾🥾
Thanks a lot!
Great first Buck ,you did well hunting with the flu.Congrats on your new family , lots of fun in the years ahead.
Thanks a lot, the flu definitely made it challenging!
Nice.
Thanks!
Nice work champ
Cheers matey, was really happy with how that trip panned out
Awesome stuff👌
Thanks a lot!
Yup a young family will certainly put the brakes on🤪🤪Just do what you love doing mate and it will stay enjoyable. Where are you based?? Always keen on missions with fellow creators. I’m in Christchurch.
I live in Auckland, but I get around as much as I can
Personally like the story type hunting videos and don't care if an animal goes down. Actually more realistic if you have trips where you dont succeed (If that makes any sense)
Good to know. I have been wondering where people sit with videos needing a kill or not. Appreciate the feedback!
I bow hunt in VIC/NSW. I'm new to it all. Great video man. Very informative and entertaining throughout it all. Awesome brother! 🏹❤️🤙🏽
