Congrats on finishing Season 1!

It makes me very happy to see you both enjoying Japanese animation. I've also subscribed to your channel. Demon Slayer has some uniquely Japanese stuff in it, so it can be hard to understand at times, but I hope you enjoy it! I'm also planning to make an instructional video for anime fans!

The badge that Levi said was Ivan's was actually Petra's. Levi and Petra were very close, as you can tell by Petra's father talking about marriage. Levi was going to keep the patch for himself, but saw that the other soldier needed it more. Also, in the first episode that he's introduced, we see Levi complain about blood being filthy, and then moments later we see him hold a dying soldier's bloody hand. Levi can seem cold and blunt, but he always puts other peoples' emotional needs before his own. He's a seriously good person.

Erwin saying, "An eye for an eye," is actually translator error. He really says, "Just to make sure." The two phrases sound pretty similar in Japanese. He isn't exacting revenge or anything, he's just not certain the wires will hold.

Reiner is my favorite character! Such a cool guy 💪

Fun fact! In the manga, Hange is drawn to be androgynous-looking, sometimes more masculine and sometimes more feminine. Other characters refer to Hange with "they/them" pronouns and masculine articles, like "Sir." Hange was only made out to be female in the anime because of voice actor casting. Neat!

Don't forget that there's a post credits scene in 1x25

Anyone told you there is a short fun fact video about the anime and the characters called 'Taisho secrets' every episode after the outro song. It starts from episode 2 onwards. You should go back and watch it if you missed it.

I'm really enjoying your thoughtful commentary. Been watching this and AOT with you. I know you said you already have recommendations. I hope they include Cowboy Bebop, Violet Evergarden, promised Neverland, and Made in Abyss. I think smart viewers like yourselves will really appreciate these.

What this chapter shows, before Eren wakes up (titans, toys and corpses) is a change made by Wit Studio and has nothing to do with Eren and Mikasa's dream shown in the first chapter of the manga. In the first chapter of the manga, Eren dreamed of Mikasa saying goodbye to him, and upon waking up he asks her: Since when have you had such long hair? MAPPA corrected this error at the beginning of chapter 88 (the one-hour special).

You guys have great insight! Manuela even mentioned a few episodes ago that it seems Annie and armin are close, it’s subtle and easy to miss at this point but the dynamic between them is one of my favorites in the show! You guys pay attention to the right details, I’m sure you’ll love where the show goes! Watching on mobile makes it a bit difficult to read the subtitles, may I suggest cropping and zooming in the subtitles somewhere on the screen? I’ve seen a few other reactors do something similar so it’s just an idea 😄

Fun Facts: At the beginning of the episode, Annie has a dream in which she appears training with her father, this was actually a flashback to Chapter 17 (which should have appeared in Episode 4 🤔🤔🤔 It should be noted that the original flashback was much shorter than the dream 🤔🤔🤔 Annie, instead of smiling, laughs uncontrollably 😅😅😅 A smuggling scene occurs by Military Police officers 🤔🤔🤔

Haha, don’t beat yourselves up on missing Annie, it’s just as fun for us in the audience whether you predict a mystery beforehand or not. It’s actually very common for reactors to miss this one and have the exact same blind spot you guys had for Annie. Can’t wait for more!

Never tired of reactions to AoT. This ep was always my favourite out of season 1 which I think is generally the weakst in terms of pacing and whatnot. Keep going.

Just to clarify, the other person shown in Armin’s monologue is not Miche, it’s Ian, the person given command of the Garrison elite squad in the Battle for Trost, who ordered the squad to protect others, and others to sacrifice their lives protecting Eren as he plugged the hole.

Love that you guys caught that Levi’s advice to Eren was genuine! Lots of reactors completely misread Levi and think he’s doing some 5D chess underhanded mind trick in this scene, which couldn’t be further from the truth. I can already tell based upon the things you guys like about the show the most that you’re going to enjoy each season twice as much as the last all the way till the end of the show. It only gets better from here. 🔥

After you finish season 1, I suggest watching "Attack on Titan IN 9 MINUTES" by Gigguk on youtube. It's a recap of season 1 with no spoilers. Maybe someone can send you a direct link because searching it on youtube can show some spoilers from thumbnails in the search results. I can't link it because youtube deletes my comment. Or you can just search it and hope you don't see anything spoilery. But just to be safe, you should probably get a direct link.

My god. I know I comment this a lot, but it can’t be overstated how incredible your guys’ memory / theory crafting is. I’ve seen virtually every AoT reaction on UA-cam, and you guys are incredible so far in trying to logic your way through such a dense and mysterious plot 👍

Just a heads up, there are extra episodes between seasons called OVA’s. In Crunchyroll they are in a season called OAD’s. These give more world-building and character development. There are 3 considered absolutely necessary to watch to understand the story, and 5 that are more optional if you want more well-rounded side character development. I will provide the official release order here. There is A LOT of misinformation online about the order to watch these, but I’ve provided the official release order intended by the author. I am a big personal advocate of watching all 5 optional OVA’s as well, but it’s up to the reactor to judge for themselves if they want this world building, or are impatient and want to continue the main storyline. Fun fact: Unlike the anime, when Eren meets his friends and colleagues after having joined the Exploration Corps, they do not have the uniform of said squad, while in the manga they do have it when Eren is in that same scene. with all of them 🤔🤔🤔
