I don't think it's any surprise that Anna Devane qualifies as "favourite badass" for quite a few GH watchers. And while she is most certainly that, I think what many Anna fans appreciate about the character is the addition of her other roles - woman, mother, wife, friend, etc. - which make her so well rounded. I am grateful for these sides of Anna that allow her to be much more than simply an agent or a badass, defying the age-old stereotypes for female characters. The many, and at times conflicting sides of Anna never cease to be fascinating. She is a character who has achieved and suffered her fair share. And much of that suffering has been directly or indirectly linked to her career. A staple of Anna from the very beginning has been her battle with the murky moral standards in being an agent, which also seep into her personal life. This song/video signifies to me the way in which her personal flaws and being an agent have cost Anna many things. Though we tend to glorify the hero(in)es, what is left behind after the battle ends is, in my opinion, the best part of the story.
So, enough essay writing about my all time favourite leading lady. I hope you enjoy this one! I won't tell you how many months it has taken to complete this. I struggled with the colouring in this vid especially, and eventually just settled for what you see here. But overall, I am pleased with how it turned out. And as always, comments and feedback are appreciated!

Tristan and Finola had to be THE Most Beautiful Couple!! Add to that how incredibly ROMANTIC and FUNNY they were together with their off the Charts CHEMISTRY and the Crazy Talent of both of them, and we had the MAGIC of Robert and Anna! It CRUSHES me that although they’re now both back on GH at the same time GH has chosen to COMPLETELY REWRITE THE HISTORY of this phenomenal Couple as though they’d never REALLY been Passionately CRAZY in LOVE!! Why is Anna's head all wrapped in gauze?
I always loved the way they look at each other. Together, they always laughed so much. He was always so protective of her even when they were with other people. I remember how he would always put his jacket around her when she was cold.

One of the greatest onscreen partnerships ever. I think what sold it so much is how they just genuinely seemed to like each other. I thought I also read that TR liked to ad lib? If true, it appears Finola was always able to keep up. I remember one time Robert was talking about Catherine and accidentally said “Anna” and Finola, without breaking character at all said, “I’m Anna” and went on with her line. You could see Tristian was a little flustered but since it was, not quite ranting, a scene that required him to be a little agitated, it worked and he put himself back into the scene. Other actors may have just stared after the name slip or been too flustered by Finola’s ad lib, but they carried on. Great onscreen romance, great acting partners.

STILL after all these years I just love these glory days of Robert and Anna! Their chemistry was unbelievable and nobody today comes CLOSE! They’re on the show now at the same time but GH has wasted the opportunity to show that their relationship COULD still be awesome and the chemistry still hot. LOVE your videos
I whole-heartedly agree. They are one of the best pairings to have ever been on screen, and the writing they had back in the day was in a class all its own, the writers knew how to capitalize on their connection. It is so sad to see how the GH of today has strayed so far from the stellar storytelling it once had. Thank you for watching and for your comments!

Anna Devane, daytime's Emma Peel 😎. Wish the current writers on GH would write Anna the way she used to be. Finola Hughes is awesome in the role, but the writers now are not doing justice to the character or the amazing actress who has portrayed the kick-butt super spy (on/off) for over 35 years.

Hi there! I would love to point you in the right direction, but I can't seem to find those scenes anywhere online. I've looked around for them but it seems that a lot of GH clips that used to be on UA-cam have been removed recently, including this one. I really wish I could do more to help :(
Robert and Holly had more chemistry
While I certainly acknowledge TR and FH have superb acting chemistry, I agree ... the characters of Robert and Holly and the actors TR and ES were such a joy to watch.💞💞💕💕 The characters of Robert and Anna have never been any more than sexual attraction on a mission.🙄 Robert becomes a man without honor and integrity and a fool once Anna enters.😤

@@renealexander2703 Not until 2019, the day after Finn proposed to Anna, did Robert say to her that she was the love of his life ... but then his further thought was "don't get me wrong I'm not carrying a torch for you and know we don't work together." He didn't mention Holly in 2019 but in 1987 he mused to himself while holding a sprig of Holly "Holly, Holly THE love of my life". In 1987 Holly was presumed dead and Anna of course was happily married to Duke (the love of her life). He also said to Anna in 1985 that he would kill to protect the only woman he ever loved - meaning Holly not Anna - and that he should have left Anna to die after the explosion ... that doesn't scream "love" in my opinion, but I know your opinion differs. If what Robert felt for Anna was love and not just lust during a mission, why did he leave her immediately after finding out she was a double agent saying he never wanted to see her again? Robert was a playboy before he met Anna, as brought out by O'Reilly, and resumed being a playboy after he left her, as brought out by Connie Townley.
Robert and the place filler have zero chemistry. They were and are a snoozefest. Robert and Anna are magic and the great loves of each other's lives.
