I was full speed to get over the last hill before pulling. I knew I was low! So, when I got a left opening, I was always gonna try for left landing. I had north wind, so it would be difficult to make a downwind and downhill landing there where you suggested. The next big area that looks good on camera, is also shit. It’s slopy and filled with big rocks! I got lucky to find that path. 4 years later..in that same line, I ate shit and smashed both of my ankles.
@@TheHellisyou over estimate my canopy skills 😅 and also when one opens that low, on hilly terrain, there’s a lot going on to make the right judgement. I know the area very well and I’m pretty sure that I made the right choice.
@@jerrycronin7278 I'm not trying to be rude or bash you. But for your own good, get good at precision landing ang canopy skills. Landing is just practicing, canopy skills are best learned when you fly close to someone else or CRW. That means you have a point of reference in the air and all your turns and inputs can be monitored better. You can see how much more altitude you loose when turning opposed your friend, practice "how can I get there", do riser inputs. That is very valuable skills you lean that you need in BASE. If you can, skydive the BASE canopy. I packed my 260 in a skydive rig meant for 150. Sure a lot was outside and the loop was pretty long 😃 But you just need to get out the door and pull. If you have someone else you can do the proximity/CRW training with with BASE or student canopy then the better. I applaud you for making it, but I do not agree about judgment or good choices. You seemed to be "just following the path I have always flown". Very little head movement looking for alternatives, hogging the wall on the left even though you want to land facing left. Hogging the wall on the left leaves no room to make a left turn. Again, I'm not here to bash you or anything. I'm not saying I'm better than you. I probably aren't. Just giving you my view of this as an outsider, and hopefully you can see what I see. It's really just meant as positive feedback.
Yep I used to count down in polish all the time. It was a shout out to my polish buddies, they got me back in the game when I almost quit starting out 😉
Your canopy even knew it and gave you a courtesy off-heading pointing at the LZ 😂
Why did you fly past all the good landing spots. You had the trail just as you opened, that's a good spot to land.

@@jerrycronin7278 you don't need to land downwind. Two flat turns and you would have been against the wind and over the trail.

You obviously know that you stole a marble from your luck jar🤣 However, I’m curious as to what you were thinking from exit - stowing your brakes?
"oh man, oh man, oh man, oh man, oh man, trees whew, yeah toggles"
"F**K, F**K, F**K! Imma gonna die and it's gonna hurt the whole time! Here comes the first tree! " Trail magically appears. "I am SKYGOD!!"
You really lucked out! I did something similar at Brento when I was there last in 2010. Glad you're ok!
