all I will ask is on which difficulty did you play this on?

This looks like my "Torch" run.

There is a guy who said in a guide that the game is made to basically do torchless run, because some hightier items are only usable in the darkness like hellion or jester, and the bonus of crits is totally worth it. I left the game for a break just before doing darkest dungeon, got a roast of every character at legend level, completed the two dlc, and more importantly, played from 0% in darkest difficulty with the dlc of crimsom curse activated since the very start. And that is BIG bullshit, that mentality is tossing away other characters, i feel an torchless strategy is only ocassional and very dependant of the team composition. For example to go kill certain bosses or to do short dungeons, maybe medium too if you are feeling lucky. Not saying it doesn't have uses, but it simply has more cons than pros, and i feel it's just made for that occasional moments. The bonus in stress damage and crit of the monsters inflicted on you is too big to ignore, an crit is crazy damage to health AND stress, and there are stress dealers that could fill the bar in one turn. Even with stress healers you are forced to stress heal a lot wherever in an normal run you could do another thing. The dodge of the monsters make it a nighmare considering some of them have BIG numbers of dodge especially if you are using the crimsom dlc. The Bonuses of the dark is just to balance the things a bit and give a chance to the party to not be eradicated. The game force you to understand you NEED torches. "If you live for risk and darkness, by all means bring few torches..."

The stress build up in DD1 is a lor complicated and hard to manage as compared to dd2. And as someone who runs torchless for better loot, dodge is the primary issue.

I know the pain. Especially if you only have like 2 heals and one too high (or low) level and the other is stress recovering as well. Or just shit luck. Fucking star monsters. Me personally i save all cuiros (i hope thats how its spelled) till the very end and snuff out the torch. You get extra rewards

my experience with Darkest Dungeon is this, 110% ACC enemy has 4 dodge...I miss 7 times in a row, heart attack

I believe that, even if someone managed to get a character's death blow resistance uncapped, and then set to infinite, the game would find a way to make the character die at one of the first three hits. Death blow resistance is a lie, just like the cake.

The differences boil down to whiffing attacks a bit less and seeing your cast get f***ed more clearly.

I Swear, i fucking *LOVE* the Art style of this game, i love the Gameplay. i love everything about it.... BUT THE *SOUL CRUSHINGLY HARD DIFFICULTY!!* i feel like Iratus: Lord of the Dead has more players and fans simply due to it being easier... cause the Art Style is Far and away Shittier than Darkest Dungeon.. but i love it just the same due to being one of the few games where you can play as the Villain.

If you get 4 spiders they will all attack 1 single hero and they'll die instantly the moment their turn comes, I know.
