@eljee2702 Love the question! The complete Route 52 runs east to west from Hvítárvellir to Route 550, and then continues south from there to Þingvellir Park. The first section is predominantly gravel. However, on that particular day, I was driving from the cave Víðgelmir to Reykjavík, so the portion shown in this video is the stretch of 52 from Route 550 south, which is now fully paved. Iceland is indeed unique in many ways: the combination of volcanoes and glaciers, ice caves, no predators, snakes, or mosquitoes! Not to mention the views - those are simply indescribable. Love the place.

Thanks! It's worth noting that the mountain roads (F-roads) featured in this playlist are *already impassable*. I drove them just three weeks ago. The Iceland Highlands season is VERY short. Stay tuned for the drive on F550.

I would say some of the best views are a bit further up, after T2 you can take lifts to the peaks, like in this other video (ua-cam.com/video/foekhMmywvo/v-deo.html) the button lift takes you to 1020 m. But in fairness, in Trysil you'll get scenic views almost on any altitude.
