This might be a dumb question, but on a scale from 1 to 10, how important is getting your pull-up squared away BEFORE coming to Lackland? I know I want to go Air Guard Reserve, but I haven't talked to a recruiter yet, and part of the reason is that I just can't do a single pull-up

Why do male soldiers get their hair cut very short while female soldiers can keep it long? If long hair is not a technical problem for a soldier, why cut hair so short for others? . . . Also pullups look very different for female soldiers, they pull themselves not up but more forward. But this might be justified due to lower upper body strength.

Me and my wife entering together soon. The gas chamber was our biggest worry compared to how my dad explained it'd be from his experience 20+years back. After seeing this, I no longer have any doubts about what I can and cant handle. Years ago, I was in a SF outfit where the commander tried to get people work out. He was answering IG and DODIG complaints of abuse of command. His main problem was a fat body senior non-com who wanted to get rid of him and told everyone in the unit that he was in fact trying get rid of the commander (isn't that mutiny?). He bad-mouthed that guy all over the post and the other bought it. Those IG people, especially the DODIG were told what was going on but they ignored it or just "wrote it off". I am glad I got out when I did. The AF will always struggle with fitness requirements because of the very nature of its varied missions. I am glad to see people exercising but good luck with the back lash. Fat bodies who want their way because they are "a zebra" will still result in problems and good people will suffer.

My boyfriend is currently in basic in Lackland right now. I get to continue my enlistment process in September and these videos have given me so much insight for when I go. I'm also hoping i'll maybe see some clips of him here eventually :)

AF BMT is suck. you only see those good buildings and playground in video. In fact the most of areas over there are broken. And MTIs definetely won't talk to you like this gentle. The most of the time you will spend there for making your bed, getting trouble by MTIs, or just stucking in your dorm. You learn nothing from it and the boring will kill you.
