Deepcut Training Camp - 2023 Update
A flight over the soon to be demolished Princess Royal Barracks training area, Deepcut.
The Princess Royal Barracks, Deepcut, commonly referred to as Deepcut Barracks, is a former British Army installation near Camberley, Surrey. It was the headquarters of the Royal Logistic Corps (RLC) and also the Defence College of Logistics, Policing and Administration, before both moved to Worthy Down Camp.
Between 1995 and 2002 there were four deaths of trainees at the barracks which prompted families, the public and Ministry of Defence itself to call for investigation into any possible links, following four Coroner's commissioned investigations and inquests. One produced a verdict of suicide by gunshot wounds, the other three returned open verdicts. On 3 June 2016, a Coroner's report into the death of Private Cheryl James in 1995 found that the death was "self-inflicted" and that Private James fired the gun intentionally.
In 2013, following the Defence Training Review and the merger of tri-service training to a single location, it was confirmed that the barracks were to close with the land being released for housing development.

Shithole! Hated my training there.
Absalute shithole. I hated my second phase training there, it was a camp full of cunts and bullies. Horrible feeling there.
It's quite extraordinary how, say 25yrs ago Aldershot, Bordon, camberley, Pirbright & Church Crooham to name a few out of many were incredibly busy places with endless of M. Personnel. Now sadly over the years our Defence has been drastically cut. M. Personnel Regiments being merged / relocated elsewhere. A lot of M establishments no longer required are now being demolished to make way no less for housing.
I use to live approx about 1.5 miles from these and didn't know they there!!!!
The beautul meadows/ wild flowers & hedgehogs / deer are sadly gone as unfortunately developers are building houses😢 On all of what was once the Lord Mayor Treloar Hospital site.
Thankyou so much for this highly commendable drone video of The Cambridge Military Hospital, Aldershot. It is an absolutely magnificent building. The architecture is stunningly beautiful. I'm incredibly impressed @ how this former Hospital has been sensitively been renovated/ restored to its former glory (thankfully minus the copious amounts of asbestos that must have been it!!) and once eventually completed it will look absolutely AWESOME!! I have a deep passion for old hospitals. This maybe because I was a patient in here having a major op but also I have spent 50yrs of my working life working in hospitals!! I adore a lot of old London hospitals too. Haven't caught up with the updates of this beautiful building, and was 3yrs ago!!! It's all coming together nicely now. It's rather very special that someone has taken the time & trouble to continue documenting our history. Without it it would be lost forever. I'm very much hoping before too long that another drone video will be carried out towards completion & then once completed?! Thanks again for this lovely video. 2hrs of looking @ this beautiful building wouldn't be too long:-)
In 1977 When I was 16/17 I worked at TRL in Crowthorne, while working at TRL or as it was called back then the TRRL I had an accident which left my right eye damaged and scared and my vision greatly impaired which has severely affected my life, I am now 63 years old and have never recieved one penny for my injury and in fact I was threatened with the sack if I pursued any form of compensation. God awfull place.. luckily wasn't there for long did my b3 stackers course there in 96 then got the hell out of there it was a depressing place for young recruits waiting months for Leconfield driver training slots some even got out before they were posted to units due to being fed up here...
I felt quite tearful. I did the assault course during my POC training in 1988.
1999 first day there here's a pick axe handle make sure no males go into female block 😂😂😂 mad times
Was there ,did months april/august1990. RAOC.
Thats was a crazy place to be in 1996 happy days great times and some great lads
I was there in November 96..it was an absolute shambles for what I can remember a fair bit of bullying and everyone was depressed and the majority were waiting to geta slot at Leconfield for driver training which took months for some people
@@neilkeepingitreal I hope your life is better now and all the best
Was there from june 96 , some great memories
@benhurley8063 great days Nice one hope you are doing well in life
Was there first in 1997. Then SQMS course. SNR MPC. Was a strange place. Not sure about the rumours tho.
Sad to see it like this but with all the stuuf that went on it probably for the best .....i have mixed feelings about the place .....i miss the buddies i made there but it was a hell hole of bullshit ....i was there early 96 in 1 troop under sgt gav ....that pace made me the man i am today
I would of gladly pushed out another 10 weeks at Pirbright instead of having to come to this shit hole I got there in November 96 luckily managed to get through quickly unlike some of the other poor buggers who were here for nearly a year before posting
I agree mate. I was there for second phase training and strait away I hated it. Had a very eary feeling there from start to finish. Bullies camp
@@paulsavage100 yeah it was buddy ....did you meet sgt gav and his twin brother?
@@neilkeepingitreal i got rtu'd from leconfield it took me a year to get out of it nearly .....then ended up at 4gs reg in abingdon ....there ere a few unsavoury charachters in deepcut ...i know my spidey sense still shiver when i think bk to how i felt there....i was never comfortabe there
The assault course hasn’t changed since I was there in 1984.
My work home for 10 years from 1997 to 2007
great video - brings back memories of being there in 2002
First time I’ve seen it since 94
Thanks for doing this video. I just found out that they are planning to demolish the building in Oct/Nov time this year. So sad.
Hi there, Rich. This beautiful building I can confirm( have only just seen this awesome drone video so you may by now be aware?) was sadly demolished the first 3.5 weeks of March, 2023.😔 Robertson House was the Nurses Home to the Lord Mayor Treloar Hospital. It's just such a great shame that buildings have to be vandalised. All old buildings are part of history & heritage. The water towers are being left as far as I'm aware. They are listed I believe.
Oh no. I had no idea it is now gone. I'm so glad I was able to explore inside all the way back in 2007 when the vandalism was minimal. Seems strange that the water towers are listed but the building itself wasn't. Any idea what will be in its place? More expensive houses no doubt? I wish I'd had the chance to say goodbye. 😔

@Gibbo - You might want to do another fly over the old silos at Greenham Common as I think someone is filming there again.
Legal & General must be pleased with what they inflicted on Crowthorne. Disgusting.
Perchance not the Gibbo I knew of 33 years ago who used to use Tamiya Radio controlled cars? Perhaps that would explain the deft use of the drone controls...
Sadly i'm not that Gibbo, Although I have had a fair number of Tamiya RC cars.
Brings back memories of being there 2001
Rather haunting! All the soldiers who’ve passed through there, used that course. Ghosts of Cheryl, Sean, Anthony, Geoff and James and the others who died. Sad to think it’ll all be under jerry-built houses soon
Beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Gonna missed this place
Nice shots . Looks cool with the dusting of snow . I went last week . I fly fpv so I was making use of all the gaps to dive and flip through! Latest vid on my channel if your interested. I noticed you have also flow ouse Valley viaduct and newark priory. I have done these as well . Good fun with all the gaps for fpv ! I live in Maidstone Kent, anything you know of over this way worth checking out with the drone !?
I absolutely love this building ! Amazing video also
Very beautiful ruins especially in the snow, I bet the drone was a bit cold. Super vlog and just subscribed to your channel.
Thank you for the subscription. The drone was very unhappy about the cold , same goes for my hands trying to fly it 😂 Have subscribed back 👍
