3.23 - Master Modes and the new AI shakes everything up. VHRT are way harder than they are used to be. I love it - but you cannot fly into the enemies and just dogfight a whole group at once. Here some tips which stragegy works best for me. Done in a Anvil F7A Hornet Mk2

He maybe cannot buy anything, but earned some experience. Maybe the experience that the conny have a hard time to land shots on a fighter :-)
The Dominance scatter guns require a very fast maneuverable ship such as the Hornet's or the Saber Firebird. You have to engage at close distance, (under 500m), for them to be effective. But you cannot beat their DPS when in combat. Due to their slow fire rate, you can also keep your shields to full to stay longer in the fight.
Yeah, i wanted to try them on the Firebird also. The F8C isnt the best ship for it, but it works also pretty well. Maybe i do a test video on the firebird with them.

Didnt say they are the best. I tried to not say which ones are the "best" - just said they are currently PVP meta. But if i had to choose which ones are the best - they were in the top3 - together with the deadbolt loadout and the attritions (for PVE )

@@joronasc For size 3, the Quarreler cannons are better than the Omniskys. They have exactly the same dps stats, but much, MUCH higher HP, which means they can take far more damage than the Omnisky's.
Looks great. Now if we could just actually play it without encountering bugs or buying a computer so pricey we bankrupt ourselves…
Bugs, yes you encounter them and a normal okayish gaming pc is enough now.

I always have and always will love my Comet, But I only run it while doing NB rep and just up to HRT. Everywhere else I run the hornet or firebird up until VHRT then switch the inferno. I run the connie a lot in ERT since my $ was low strictly for the loot. New sub and on the notification squad, keep up the great work brother. These vids are awesome for a returning player such as myself
S5 torps are not fine. they need about 80% more damage across the board, and they need to not ruin their minimum range and speed like they are about to in the test mode.
Think about what happend when you buff S5 torps with 80% more damange. You have to buff EMP otherwise and the Vanguard Warden needs another impactfull buff than also. Or the Harbinger would need a nerf with smaller guns. Because if you buff the S5 torps with 80% more damage than they do now - there will be *no* reason to buy a Warden. They are in a good state at 0:40 i killed a Conny with 2 torps. I tested the current live torps not the ones on PTU. My ship tests are exclusive on the current LIVE status - of course stuff can change and sometimes for the worse.
@@joronasc first of all you killed an already red, not maneuvering, probably soft deathed conny with shields down using 2 torps thats not a good example.. if anything it supports what i said. considering we have 30% of the damage eaten by shields and another 50% eaten by generic hull damage reductions before anything actually sticks to the target, not much tbh. it will still take 2-3 S5 torps AFTER the buff to the SAME hull section of a conny to kill it, and considering they are suppose to be Torpedoes not marshmallows, yes they need the buff. you dont have to buff EMP at all wtf are you talking about? Missiles are in very limited supply, dont work 90% of the time or get decoyed, or simply out maneuvered (which will get worse when this new update hits) if all the stars and the moons alilign you should do heavy damage. again you would still need to hit a conny sized target 2x to the exact same spot to knock it out. currently you have to hit all 4 which never happens. torps are useless.
@@TheAngriestGamer. The conny was not red. Starting from 0:22 its a fresh spawn of an VHRT Conny. First hit on 0:33 - than it was red after the torp hit - killed at 0:44. And i dont know what you talking about. You say its 1 of 10 torps hit in PVE? As long as you fire at ships of conny size i would guess its about 6 / 10 will hit ( thats about my experience, maybe i record a video about it ). And the Harbinger is still a Vanguard with alot of gun firepower - its not a Torpedo / Missile boat with reduced gun power to balance things out.
that DPS from Erkul is not representative of the fact that most ships have +50% Physical resistance .....the inferno is doing less than half the dps shown on Erkul
Thats the main reason why i only mention the DPS numbers, but my tests are less about the theoretical numbers more about the outcome. Thats why i show kills from the first hit to end - so you see the results of these numbers (like you need about 1 min to kill a Hercules A1 ). I also mentioned alot the Corsair example - while its is the ship with the highest theoretical DPS its not the *best PVE* ship. Alot of other PVE content creators speak about it as the PVE king ship. Its not only the physical resistance on the ship - its also the spread of the weapons - the posibility for the ship to stay on target and and and. So while numbers are numbers and an indicator how good a ship is - it will not *define* how good it really is. I can give my honest opinion and show why i feel that way. And currently i think the Inferno is in my opionion one of the best ships to do VHRT.

I think a big part of people using the Sabre are the looks. It does look very slick. But my favorite has always been the Ghost, I mean it's black, that's all I need. :) Plus it's a mill cheaper than the Sabre. (I only buy ships ingame, so I don't have the op Mk II yet)

Invis asteroid... My least favorite jump scare, but at least 60% of time I hit them I am in a Reclaimer and I just bounce off with minor damage unless I'm going max speed lol

I still feel like that the Ion is better atleast from my practical experience. Or my Inferno is heavily bugged. Played Xenothreat and shot a HH with the Inferno for about 2.7k bullets... 0 damage. Shot a Cutlass for 10 seconds and its barely red. Played the Ion before the Inferno and blew the Gladius in 1 shot and the cutty's in 3-4 shots. A couple of charged shots to take down a HHs frontal shield and a couple of shots on the bridge and it was gone. I like the Inferno way more but it just doesnt work. The spread is also pretty insane now or atleast it feels like it
It felt off to me when i used mine, shields are nerfing ballistic damage more, so when i changed to the mvsa guns to lower shields and then used ad5b it killed them way quicker.
If you use AD5B you dont need to kill the shield. With full ballistic you go directly to the hull - and Deadbolt 5 because the weapon speed is 1100 which matches the 1200 of the CSVA better than the 900 of AD5B

This ballistic Gatling-equipped variant tears through gunship armor and turns smaller fighters to dust in seconds. 3800 bullets ? just give me 380 of them with 1-2-3 bullests 1 is slow to shoot 2-medium and right after that a high 3th bullet then is balistit laser ? i know they wnat to keep them nerf . but they have a plan :)) i hope >.<

How can I unlock VHRT missions?
After doing lots of missions to get Reputation with the bounty hunters guild, you will get assigments that will authorize you to get more higher threat levels. This assigments are paid with a fee.
Now there is a warbound promotion for Harbinher, im glad to see not old Video that test it.
How do you handle 1 vs 2 connies and one Corsair? The ships you get seems to be very random I've even had a carrack Also rockets rarely hit for me and quite often i shoot the green circle foe 10s and domt see any danage on the ship on my mfd
Fight against this is more easy than having the typical HRT enemies ( Fighters ). But in the same way - i explained in the video. In atmospahere, stay above them - because they are kinda slow its easy to separate the targets from each other. I will release other videos, also an Arrow doing VHRT, HRT where i fight exactly this constellation of ships.
@@joronasc was in space, couldn't separate them sadly they sticked together even after I used rockets or went on on distance and 12 s5 firing at me deleted me in seconds once I noticed that I have to tank some hits to even get to the hull Shot one for like 20s, was in the green circle and didn't even saw his shield drop not sure if lag, desync or if that green circle is inaccurate. I wanna go back to fighting fighters rather :D last time I did those it was mostly a hurricane, Valk, sabre or vanguard
@@llawlied6902 If you want fighters as enemies - do HRT contracts, they are mostly fighters. But even there you have sometimes a big ship as main target. Its a little bit strange sinze 3.23. But yeah dsync is problematic. I dont do BH contracts on a server with server fps < 5, thats no fun and hits often did not get count
Singe cannons if you can get hold of 6 of em are insane. Failing that Omnisky are rad too - 2 size 4 omnisky and the rest size 3

sounds sad, but you are right. Its not totally useless but the sister Inferno does the job just way better, so in the end ... its nearly useless
3.23 nerfed both Ares Starfighters into the ground. The ION took the bigger hit, but both ships are far worse now than in 3.22. I used to run the Inferno as my daily, and I can't anymore. Too much downtime.
I have a similar issue, idk if its more about the fps that I get now or something else but I am constantly kamikaze/ insta killed in the Ares within seconds of getting near the target. Especially by the cutlasses. I have not been able to progress past space combat HRTs due to this
You have that with every ship. Pre 3.23 i was doing about 600-700k aUEC/h. A group VHRT took about 6 minutes. Now with every ship you will need more time to do AI bountys. And the Inerno is one of the best ships in 3.23 ( even its slower than pre 3.23 doing bountys). Half a year ago i did a video about the power of the inferno and the kill time i had there, i cannot repeat with 3.23 - but thats true for every other ship also. So in summery the Inferno is still on top

I made a video half a year ago about the Ion, after the buff, and was curious of if they gone to far with the buff. At this time i was completly wrong, and the Ion was in a good place. It seems to be hard to get the ion in the right place, but maybe CIG should consider to live with it when they buffed it to far and its better than the rest
The game is fine. The ship, as it *currently* stands, is not. But it's all subject to change, so no use getting wrapped around the axle.
My biggest problem with this is that a "mere" constellation took half a ares' ammo capacity. Seems a bit excessive.
it took me 500 rounds to kill that constellation - so restock after 6 connys ( or 7 if you use missiles ) - so its not that bad
Press F to pay respect to that Hercules. She took a whole lot of brrrtt before the end.

@@colonelburton8451 You can buy nearly every ship ingame. And often the best pvp ships are the cheaper ones. You need to spend 45$ and not more and instantly play on highend

Appreciate the videos on this. Getting back into SC after a long hiatus and there isn't much up to date info. The Vanguard line was my first love in the game. Good to see its still kicking butt!
The Vanguard is through the years always kinda good. Sometimes awesome, sometimes good, sometimes okay - but never really bad. So a safe bet ;-)
hit reg is SOO bad atm in this patch, the lag between the RLS and DGS can get very bad T_T fun video

Ion can do either 1500 or 6000 alpha damage currently - you have to fully charge it to get the 6k, anything below is 1,5k so you were very ineffective even against the HH which is big enough to comfortably fire fully charged shots. That being said, the dps even on the fully charged shots is ~1800 so pretty terrible, however the charge mechanic should be a very good balancing mechanic fo this ship. It just needs way more damage on the charged shot, like 10k + and it could then potentially be viable and hopefully decently balanced even against smaller ships.
My tests i do on this channel are mostly practically. I do sometimes add the raw numbers but mostly they dont mean as much as the test flying the ship and try to get it to work properly. And i failed to do so with the Ion. I am quite experienced in doing AI Bountys so while i cannot eliminate the "Skill issue" - argument completly i dont believe that the "Normal SC" player will have way better results with that ship. I think the part where i killed 2 times the Conny with the Inferno in less time than i needed with the Ion for a onetime kill shows exactly how bad the Ion is currently.
@@joronasc It was not about skill but rather lack of knowledge I guess? :) You get around 1800 potential dps with fully charged shots but only around 1200 with non-fully charged shots (if I am not mistaken). And, again, there is no damage increase if you charge less than 100%. While it makes sense that trying to fire charged shots at a target like another Ion is probably not going to be realistic, there is no reason not to charge the shots (at least the vast majority of shots) against large enough targets like HH. You still won't achieve viable amount of damage but it will be more effective and its the way to go in this case.
Yeah, the Ion should be a threat if there is more than one. 2x Ion's with a modified alpha of 10k for a fully charged shot would take down a hammerhead's shield pretty quickly, which is the whole point of the ship
Throughout the footage a lot of your shots were uncharged, so doing minimal dmg. With that being said, this charging mechanic completely killed the Ion, that shit needs to go! xD
Because i noticed that when you charge your shots and miss - you loose alot of time - time where the enemy got the shield recharged. The fight against the Inferno was exactly extremly long because of this
@@joronasc That's exactly why this whole new system is ridiculous. Not only is the DPS lower by default, but charging shots that you cannot release on command are also much harder to hit. Just a big L on CiG's side.
I felt that way about Attritions before .23 but still, put them on most ships, oddly. They've always had that... just a few more shots and then, RECHARGE.............
now you have to suffer the Ion
The last time i did a video on the Ion i really got bad comments on it. Because i feared its too strong. In the aftermath i have to admit, i was wrong.
