I composed this music for Medieval 2 Total War!
Back to the Future 3 - with my own music

A western music composed and perfomed by myself.
Really just sounds like a rearrangement of Kamen's Band of Brothers soundtrack.
You can still turn on my water works all these years later, MK. You were such a light...in my life and to the World. I miss you and your energy immensely!!
Argyle 2021 😳
Thank you for sharing 💖
If the object of creating music is to elicit emotion, this piece certainly has achieved that goal. at least in my opinion. I first heard portions performed by the Phantom Regiment in 2010 before I heard the original version. I remember my initial reaction to their "Into the Light" show. It was of profound sadness, and I thought of death. I dont know why. My reaction to hearing the original was much the same. I envision people entering a chapel before a funeral to this music. I think it fair to say that I love the original and the interpretation by the Phantom Regiment.
We based our show off of phantom regiments show. This is some epic music.
Every time i listen to this movement it makes me stop, close my eyes and listen. I have a serious love affair with it, and how it makes me remember why I love music so much
Sounds like Band of Brothers Suite II ... 🤗
DeFilmKater it isn’t. It’s a different piece of music composed earlier in the same year.
God bless Michael Kamen
I tried to no avail to get the manuscript of this for a regional Orchestra event I was hosting... Next time I get the chance to host I am not stopping until i find who holds the copyright to it. This piece needs to be performed!
you should contact with MIchael Kamen State
poweron8722 agree. I know it’s out there, I have seen pdf’s of the score.
Incredible. Thanks for letting us hear this.
Good stuff. Very moving
Was so excited a couple of weeks ago when I heard this playing in the background of the main menu for band of brothers. I have been watching that series for years. I was so happy when I heard this
it's similar. Not sure which he wrote first but one was clearly inspired by the other.
The Band Man He wrote this first.
I’m OBSESSED with this peace this is our 2017 show and this is my first year marching
Can't wait for this years show this song we named hold 😊
This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard. I used to work with Michael's dad, Saul Kamen, in the dental clinic at Long Island Jewish Hospital (in the geriatric center). I had met Michael at a holiday gathering many years ago. I had no idea I was in the presence of such a genius creator. He seemed to be a very kind and humble guy. What depths of emotions he must have had access to bring such moving pieces to life and to touch other's souls with his music. Sad he had to leave us so soon...
My marching band is doing a variation of this song during one part of our show this year.
This is part three of our show this year.
Omg we played this in my high school marching band. By far the greatest piece I've heard in my life.
Caleb Price do you mean the school I'm going to?
Phantom 2010!!! Into the Light <3
Suta 😌
Band of Brothers themes, Great!
kind of, yes. Not sure which came first.
The Band Man this did by a smidge. Band of Brothers came out in September of 2001. This was earlier that year.
SUTA.
I had tears in my eyes when Phantom played this in 2010!!!:') That brassline and Rennick's arrangement for percussion was spot on! SUTA!
always makes me think of the sky for some reason
this is my marching bands second movement. go lightning!!!
my marching band is playing this in our show
Chris Bell we performed this as our second movement this season
This is such a beautiful piece of music! I wondered the first time I heard it on the radio if it was written by the same person who composed the score for Mr. Holland's Opus... And now come to find out it was! I love the sense of wonder and grandeur in Michael Kamen's music! Such rich emotional resonance.
+Kate Rice The first time I heard of Michael Kamen was this piece, the Into The Light movement of New Moon in the Old Moon's Arms. I was actually on a flight home from Dallas to LA, and listening old school to the in-flight music channel on the plane (does anyone ever anymore??). I was 20 minutes out of LA, descending from 20,000 feet, coming through great big puffy cumulonimbus clouds, and as you pointed out --his music soars, with a dynamic sense of grandeur. I actually became very emotional, looking out the porthole window at the beauty of the afternoon sky, hearing this music...the build to the climax and resolution...and I was a sloppy crying baby....to this day this piece still draws intense emotion, and I'm not an outwardly emotional guy. When I heard that Michael had passed some years later, I was really sad for Earth. We lost a true adjudicator of nature and God's masterworks.
So pumped I get to march this piece this year :) going to make me cry
This year is going to be great. 2nd movement!
This song just gives of a chilling, serene and innocent sound. It just has to give you chills. It blends together to form such a beautiful and irresistible sound. This is what gives the piece emotion! LOVE IT!!!
Gave me chills honestly.. I actually think I like this better than the marching band arrangement
Stutter Stutterr where can you find a marching arrangement? Like for marching band not drum corps. Although the Phantom Regiment arrangement is beautiful
From childhood to adulthood, his music has carried me.
Fucking genius. Michael Kamen will always be my greatest inspiration.
Hey lets not forget Glassmen 2002 absoleutly ROCKING THE SHIT out of this. Snares with Doumbecks on them and the flub drum line. With out a doubt one of the BEST drumlines ever. Some of Colin McNutts best writing!!!
Yup. On mylar Powerstroke 77s. There is a video of a June show where the battery was tearing it up (and the horn line SUCKING...LOL). I was at UMass BITD 3 of 4 years with Colin, and we grew up together in drum corps in NH/MA. Waaaay back machine!
PHANTOM REGIMENT 2010
pHANTOM REGIMENT!!!!!!
Using this in our show this year! ;) Reminds me of Kingdom Hearts theme a little at 2:08 or at least in our arrangement...
This is my bands closer for this year.
That's funny... two years later I looked it up for 7th Regiment.
5:39 ALL THESE FEELS! This is such a good chord omg
Hey do you march?
I guess few people know that this was in Band of Brothers before it was in the phantom show. A series that will always strike the heart of every thrill seeker, history buff, and the artistically inclined.
not the same music, but similar.
This came out earlier in the same year as Band of Brothers.
Wow. This is the most breathtaking experience I've had in a long time. I can't believe that a group of musicians can make such beautiful music. I hope that I can one day be a part of an ensemble like this. So many great memories brought back from my marching band's arrangement of this literature.
If I ever get my external hard drive fixed I have the Full Score on it for the whole work.
I almost think the PR arrangement is better. Nothing beats a warm brass ensemble playing this.
its completely different. Like not comparable. lol
8 years ago mindset
Blast did a pretty good arrangement of this.
My favorite Phantom Regiment show!
you must be under 30 years old
Hands down, THE most beautiful pre show selection in Drum Corps International history.
I learned about this piece thanks to Phantom. I love Michael Kamen.
My favorite Phantom show <3
