Banded Horizontal Abduction Eccentrics
So very true. Too many pitchers want to worry about their mechanics, when in reality a simple change to their target will autocorrect any misses. Let the body organize itself. The only additional comment I would add is generally make the adjustments small. If you are missing by 18-24 inches, don't move your target that much. Move is 4-6 inches and see what adjustment happens and keep adjusting. Great Video!
I am a scout
Very helpful, I wish I would've watched this video this morning!!!🤣
Greatest Lefty and maybe greatest period
Poetry in motion
Beautiful!
This popped up as a suggested video. Great explanation. Super easy to digest and apply. Thanks for making baseball better!
Should we generate high spin rate for SSW sinker? Or slightly lower spin rate like pronating sinker?
Can you explain why? Cus we want our hips to go first
This allows the hips to go first and to get better separation. As you go into your stride, the shoulders close (counter rotate) and the hips open.
Ok thanks
Extension... A cut above the rest... LIVE! BREATHE! BLUE!⚾️💙
Nice advice at the end
Since when the fuck did they change a slider to a sweeper is vacuum you clean with a slider is a mean pitch that moves with a greatly deal of velocity yall are cancel culture woke it’s a fucking slider and always will be quit trying to sound like more then what you know
Would LOVE to see a full bullpen of you or one of your trainees
I see that there is another one of these for a seam shifting sinker. For this dot balls sinker are we pronating it instead of cutting it?
All of you showing how to grab the ball for different pitches fail to show how you release it and what you do with your fingers, disappointing!
@@franciscogutierrez3095 I’m sorry you feel that way. Maybe this changeup video will help more ua-cam.com/video/q8grS8evbG4/v-deo.htmlsi=kkA3l13hBfNWSLxd
I love the dots, thank you for showing how they should spin with the dots. It helps me to know that I know what im doing
Another question. How do some sinkers drop with seam shifted wake (where guys supinate it) while other sinkers disobey seam shifting and just heavily pronate it and that still drops?
Thank u very much for this! Im 15 and very into baseball science for pitching and like throwing in my yard. I have an iPhone. How can i tell if my spin efficiency is good enough? I dont know how to eyeball 40%, 85%, etc. I like seam shifted wake effects and want to throw seam shifting sinkers, changeup, and sweepers, especially since I find comfort in a lower arm slot. (I have seen more success with pronation and a one-seam grip, but maybe pitches will blend better if I cut them all and stay true to seam shift).
Why were people telling me to make it spin completely opposite back then? Basically making the dot face the batter
They were likely trying to get you to pronate the pitch. This dot is designed to maximize seam shifted wake which actually requires you to "cut" the ball.
Because they are dumb.
❤❤❤❤ It feels good
what’s the movement on it?
Cringe.
What are you holding in your hands?
That leg kick & that stretch. Arguably, the best lefty of all time.
Why are u in my recommendations? Why are u in such a weird green room? Who are u?
Ahhh the forbidden salmon technique. I see you have been studing tho old ways.
Im gonna do this in the bathroom. Take a mean ol 💩
May I ask what does this work on exactly?
Bro what is this for ? I need context
judging by the channel name it’s for baseball
Are you getting downward movement or arm-side movement with these?
Both in some cases! But depends on each pitcher
what is it for
How many reps and sets do you recomend weekly
The leg kick but.. the way shows you the ball but it just doesn’t matter at all hahaha
On the weightlifting side, I also agree. I worked out a ton in H.S., but my buddies and I had no idea what we were doing. This was the 1997-2001 window, so finding workouts on the internet wasn't a thing ... we were probably buying Men's Health and Maxim magazines 🤣 I was a 5'10" 155 lbs shortstop my senior year in high school. By the end of my freshmen year in college, where our team had strength coaches that built our workouts, managed our progression, and were in the weight room with us every day, I was 175 lbs. By the end of my sophomore year, 185 lbs. If I could have done those types of workouts my junior/senior year in high school, I'm sure I would have been at least 10 lbs heavier, put up better numbers, and got recruited to more schools.
great video! I didn't start taking school seriously until my Junior year in high school ... many of the schools that were recruiting me had really high academic standards, even for recruited athletes. I had to take the ACT/SAT multiple times, plus take an evening prep course to get my math scores higher. Not paying attention and fing off in middle school/high school almost burned me.
Can you make a video on how to throw a good 2seam? i felt like i’ve tried everything and it still doesn’t move. Thanks.
You don't get a very good view of the ball in his hand
is there a cheat code for too much depth on curveballs? let's say i want less spin and more velo with my curveball.
Great question. You need to kill efficiency for this to happen. Probably don't want the spike or if you keep it, cue thinking slider or cutter when throwing it.
How do you stop kids from tilting glove side when pitching
ive heard you say several times that 1seammers are better for high spin efficencies. The best one seam was zack brittons in my opinion and his effincency has necer been above 85% so i dont really see why a 2 seam would be better (2 seam offers more run while 1seam offers more drop). Note that i understand that its easier to catch seam shift with a 1seam orientation and my doubt is about why would 2 seams be better at lower efficencies.
You're right, it can still work with an efficiency in the 80's! General speaking this is what I have found to be true. 2 seams at 70-80's efficiency and the right axis can get crazy depth and seam effects. In the 100's of sinkers I have tracked on edger and trackman this has been what I've found.
@@pitchingcoachu Wow, thank you! just another doubt, i doubt this has happened, but have you ever seen someone throw a sinker in the 80s both orientations and the difference in depth and run between these two?
Great video. Thanks. 👍
Thank you!
These aren't sweepers. They're sliders. They're all sliders.
Thank you.
No theyre all sweepers due to seam shifting wake. Sliders use bullet spin
@@joecorbett3013 sweeper is a type of slider. Just like we have different names for different types of fastballs.
@@huntzzio some sliders do 😂 theres not one type of slider rook
@@pitchingcoachu yes. So they're all sliders. Just like I said. 👍🏼
The kehds wicked! Pahk was roaring.... GO SOX!
So many disgusting back door sliders
He’s nasty! 🤢
No wasted motion with maximum torque.
Smooth as silk
Not really he put too much torque on his elbow that's why he had a short career .
Smooth was Warren spahn who is the winningest left handed pitcher of all time.
@@emmanuelwood8702 Yeah but as a Dodgers fan I can't help but be entranced by the left hand of god, even though Drysdale was my favourite of the two
nice vids
So you throw this like a fastball and let the seams do the work or is there some manipulation with the ring finger? Just found your content. Great stuff!
Appreciate it! For me I slightly think about holding my hand in supination. The cue and feeling will be determined by your supination and pronation capability.
@@pitchingcoachuThank you!
I'm confused. At 1:32 you said gyro (more dot facing you) would kill depth (unless I misheard). At around 2:51 you said the more the dot faces you (more gyro) the "more" depth you're going to get. Which is correct? If i'm looking to throw a gyro slider like Daniel Hudson :28 mark here - ua-cam.com/video/slnzVlnsea0/v-deo.html where do I want that dot facing and does an in-the-horseshoe or maybe 2 seam grip work better for that? I do have some understanding of spin and seam orientation. Thanks
Sorry for the confusion! By killing depth I meant you will get more depth with the dot facing you more. Off-centered 4seam grip will worm best. How much the dot faces you will be determined by the movement you want.
@@pitchingcoachuThank you!
