would love to watch a whole little sweater video. they look hard to do, being so small!
Awesome! I felt the same way at first.
Love the color work. You are very creative. Keep up the great work🥰
Thank you so much 🤗
I do not think you have to edit your podcast, just be yourself, i enjoy watching. Good luck with the craft show, i also have one coming in December and i am spending a lot of time on it knitting soft toys!
Good luck on your show too! ❤️
Love your dog
Awe thanks, she is a sweetie.
I love your socks and those teensy sweaters! What fun! Your flax sweater is beautiful, too. Thank you for showing us your work!
Thank you! I am loving all these tiny sweaters.
Enjoyed your podcast. Thanks for sharing what you are making and also those wonderful books. Keep podcasting and creating.
Thank you so much! 💕
I’m loving the Christmas colors and I’m also doing Summer Lee’s color work cuff club. What state are you located in??
How fun! I’m excited to see what Decembers pattern will be. I’m located in Wisconsin.
yes- the urge to start a new project is a hard one to walk away from. lol
Yes I love the thrill of starting a new project.
Loved your episode about socks. I am a sock nut! Thanks to you I am revisiting Knit Pick yarns. I have been hooked on Hawthorn yarn but tired of the limited colors. It would be good for me if you did a tutorial on dying your own yarn. Really enjoy your pod casts.
Welcome! I am definitely a sock nut too.
wow, so glad to find you; love your socks and mug and so many things. Please don't forget to look at the camera lens and not at yourself on your screen because it's disengaging with viewers. don't worry - hundreds of podcasters do it. I don't think they must watch their podcast for editing and checks before they post it. So glad it was ages since you podcast as it meant we hae heaps of inspiration and fun to see.
Thanks for the tips.
❤nice to catch up,,,,🎉🎉 Great socks, Have fun with stripey yarn ELAINE 🏡💕
Awe thanks hopefully I’ll have that new yarn all knit up before the next video 🥰
First time viewer. Love your projects and enjoyed your enthusiasm.
Welcome! Thank you!
I agree! I loved listening to the crickets with your lovely knitting. I subscribed!
Thank you and welcome, glad to have you!
I’ve watched many knitting podcasts. First time I’ve ever watched one made with someone sat outside in the twilight /dark. I actually loved the atmosphere, the bugs flying about, evening noises and outside ambience. It was so relaxing and natural. loved the knitting too . 👍. A uk subscriber
I agree!
Oh thank you. So glad you enjoyed it. I wasn’t sure what I was going to end up with filming that late but all in out it worked out great!
Just discovered your podcast and have binged watched while knitting my brother’s birthday socks. I really admire your dying of yarn.
Welcome! Socks are one of my favorite things to knit!
Just found your channel and will definitely be watching more. Have you tried Very Pink Knits for your German Short Rows? She has the best tutorials. Very clear explanations and close up shots of the stitches. I am a visual learner. She is my go to whenever I need to learn a stitch.
Awesome I will check her out! I will definitely we working on learning more skills. I think I just got overwhelmed with it at the moment.
Your flax sweater is beautiful! I know I’m watching months later. I hope you finished it! It’s your own design! ❤️
Thank you ❤️ I haven’t finished it yet but I think I will.
Just binged watched all your episodes and subscribed. I'm a knitter, crocheter, spinner, weaver. Right now I have been making crochet nests out of acrylic yarn and donating them to my local wildlife rescue.
Awe that’s awesome. I knit and crochet. I really want to get into spinning I just haven’t yet. Weaving is awesome but I’m just admirer of it for now. Lol The nests idea is awesome!
*** Is the Paton Kroy Mid century stripe soft or wooly feeling ? Thinking of making a hat or fingerless gloves instead of socks…Love the way it worked up… Mary Maxim is having a clearance on some of the Paton Kroy colors $3.99. And the regular are $5.99
It’s very wooly and structured so far working with it. I’ll let you know how it blocks out when I finish them, hopefully by the next podcast.
@@KatieBugKnits Thank you
Just came across your UA-cam channel and subscribed. Enjoyed your video.
Thanks! Glad to have you!

Beautiful colors of socks, and also Beautiful garden.. thank you for sharing.. I am a new subscriber.. love your video
Welcome! Thank you ❤️
Your dog and the pollinators around the grape vines were so lovely to look at. I think you will love the West Yorkshire (pronounced York-shur) Spinners wool - it is very sturdy without itching and lasts for years! They do a lovely range of single colours too, for cuffs, heels and toes. I tend not to bother with jumpers and cardis - I prefer a long sleeve linen dress with a shawl to wrap around, along with my hand knitted socks and always my Crocs 🐊. Great podcast as always. Jinny - UK
Thanks yeah the pollinators are actually flying around my catnip that so silly I didn’t even mention. Silly me…. I just love to see the life in the garden. Shawl’s are lovely. I do want to make more of those too.
❤❤good to see you again ,,,,🎉🎉 Love the kroy stripes,,,,have that color,in my stash,,,,must use it for a gift socks,,,🎉 We have mostiques too ,,,,,what a pain,,,, Love that u sit outside,,,, Take care, Elaine ❤️🏠
Yes the key yarn is looking quite nice. They would make a great gift knit.
Omg i just found your channel and i love it. You look so kind and friendly, and your projects and garden are so beautiful (so are you). I'm also a swiftie and im planning on doing that dress because i love crochet. i'm also trying to get into knitting but im not so patient for that. i'll defnitly keep watching your videos :))
You’re too kind ❤️ I learned how to crochet before I could knit. I always thought knitting seemed hard, but you can do it!
Your twisted stitches are "a design opportunity ." Do not rip it. out.
Some colorwork suggests a larger size for those areas.
Yes I did go up a needle size but need to watch my tension.
I have the same book.
Hello from central Wisconsin. I am finishing a pair of socks. I only have the kitchener stitch to do on both.
Nice. I love that part because that means I’m almost done!
Thank you so much for such a lovely podcast and your thoughts on knitting socks - I love sock knitting as well :) Your rainbow colorway looks absolutely amazing! I look forward to your next episode, greeting from Denmark
Oh thank you! ❤️
Enjoying the podcast . Dont frog it!!!! Its a great looking sweater just finish it the way you started it
Yes I think I should. Finish it, I’m too close to being finished. ❤️
Another Wisconsinite here! Thought I recognized that accent😉😂😂😂 Just stumbled on your podcast😊 and I'm so happy I did! Just learned to knit socks about 2 years ago and have become obsessed!!! They are THE best for our frigid WI winters❤️❤️. I also started the tradition of gifting them to my adult daughters for Christmas - this will be the 3rd year😊 And they always end up sending me pics of themselves wearing them & saying how much they love them!!! Thanks for taking the time to share your knitting!!
Welcome! Yes Wisconsin can have some frigid winters but isn’t the snow so fun 🥰 and knitted socks are perfect.
Welcome! Loved you podcast!!!! You are very talented!
Thank you so much! That’s so sweet!
Love the back drop,,,, 😍 I am in southern Ontario,,just watched all ur podcasts,,,love them,, You are sweet,,,great voice,,,lots of socks 🧦🧦🧦🧦 perfect,,, See u soon, ELAINE 🏠💗
Welcome! Thanks for watching. So glad your enjoying the garden❤️
❤❤love all the socks,,, A new subscriber 😂😂 Really enjoy socks,,,,and the dyed yarn,,, Look forward now to watching ur first 2!!! ELAINE 🏡💕
I appreciate your support. ❤️
Love your knits❤
Just another thought, size down to a smaller needle for knitting your socks. The more dense the fabric, the less possibility of getting holes. I use exclusively 1.5, 1.75 and 2.0 mm needles, have never gotten any holes in to 20+ years that I have been knitting socks. I have knitted hundreds of socks over the years.
Great tip! I’ve been thinking about doing this as well.
You can take the heels and toes out and just add afterthought heels and toes with a nylon, silk or mohair added to the yarn. If using a no nylon sock yarn, just pick up a strand of mohair to work in with your socks.
Not a bad idea. Afterthought heels don’t fit me very well but I’m sure there is something I can do.
Your sweater is not wrong it is a design decision and the twisted stitch is a European way of knitting look up Minnie wolden
Yay good to know! Thanks
Thanks for sharing. I am new to sock knitting and have been wondering how they will wear. Guess mending will be on the things to learn in the future.
They are cozy, it can depend on a lot of factors, the yarn blend, how tight you knit, how much you wear them. Etc.
Really enjoying your podcasts - I have now watched all 3 of them. You are very talented with yarn dying. Jinny - UK
❤️❤️❤️ thanks!
I’m British, so the sound of rain is the almost constant background to my life 😁 Make sure than when your lilac bush is well established, you cut it way down in the autumn to get plenty of new growth and flowers. I would be a bit reticent to have freely planted mint - unless you like it with everything. new potatoes with mint sauce are beautiful 😋 I am really enjoying your podcasts - and your dog is a beauty 🐾🐾 Jinny - UK
Welcome! LOL yes the mint planting was prior to knowing how much it spreads. If I knew then what I know now 😂😂😂 Thank you for the lilac tips!
Hi KatieBug. New subscriber here. Loved this podcast and your projects look beautiful! As for your Flax sweater, I think you should finish it. It’s gorgeous and you knit a lot of love into it I imagine. 💕
Welcome! Thanks for watching. I think I will finish my flax, not sure when yet. Hopefully before the fall.
New subscriber. Who doesn’t love sock knitting? I’m in Kansas.
Welcome! I grew up in Kansas. I have a special place in my heart for Kansas❤️
Curious bc I love them, for the knee high socks when do you start decreasing from 80st down to 64 and at what intervals? I’d love to make those! Yours are amazing! Thanks!
Good question. I will talk more about it hopefully in the next podcast. Hopefully I’ll have them finished before then. I know I did decreases I’m going to have to look and see if I made any notes on it.
Hand knit socks have to be repaired too much work in them to even think of throwing them out,but then I don’t mind repairing socks even bought ones. I made a pair that was too short in the foot just unpicked the toe and reknitted a new toe in a different yarn, the only person who sees the toe of your socks is you so go fix that pair that you like.
Yes I agree.
Just discovered you and greatly enjoy seeing all your socks. I, too, am a first year Summer Sock Camper and having loads of fun knitting through stash sock yarns and using up bits and bobs to make scrappy socks. About your shorties that have the different ribbing sequence from cuff to foot: just tell yourself "It's a FEATURE, not a bug!" 🙂
lol I love that! Every time I make something I learn from it and yay for our first year of summer sock camp! Let’s make all the socks!
New subscriber from Nevada. Love seeing all you socks and your garden.
Awesome! Thank you for watching 🥰
New subscriber from England. Love the socks
Thanks for subbing! Welcome!!!
Hello from Northern Wisconsin! Thought I recognized that gray sky! 😂😂 I just found your podcast and will have to go catch your 2 previous ones as well. Just wanted to say that there definitely are patterns for worsted weight socks and they make lovely boot socks for those of us up here in the cold! 😉 I make each of my family (7 children + hubby) a pair for Christmas every year. They are very long wearing despite not having any nylon. I have been making them for more than 10 years and the first ones are just getting holes. I also think starting with worsted is a great way to learn to do socks - so much less fiddly than fingering weight - just my 2 cents. Anyway, one of my favorite worsted weight patterns is Winter Socks for the Family by McGehee Textiles. Happy knitting!! 🥰
Yes I will probably be making more worsted weight socks. Thanks so much for watching! Yes it gets cold here in Wisconsin we need are warm socks 🥰
