Dogs know "do a thing / get a thing" pressing buttons gets them attention and owners know the attention comes in the form of food, outside, play, talking, petting, etc. I sense the buttons are arbitrary, but they know all buttons get something good, even if it's just you talking to them. You're still guessing what they want specifically.

How do you teach concepts like "happy" and "ugh", etc.?

How does using the buttons effect your dog when you are out where there are no buttons to press (friends house, or doggy daycare) do they look for them ?

That dog is having an identity crisis which makes sense… most dogs are. We take them from their own and raise them, act like parents and socialize them tremendously, then we empower them with language and technology.. dog now has the consciousness of a child and realizes it looks and lives nothing like it’s human companion

Have you considered Chinese market? I mean mandarin has no grammatical structures, and pets using FluentPet with Chinese words might sound much more like human speech for Chinese users.
