Of course I was there. I live in Philly so I’ve been blessed to have such an amazing park so close. Kingda Ka and The Golden Kingdom were my childhood, it was so epic and destined for greatness. I remember the tiger shows, Balin’sJungleLand, and the hype/energy that surrounded the entire ride area. Kingda Ka was legendary, it always will be records or not. I’m devastated this is truly happening. I still can’t believe it, and I won’t until the structure comes down. I’m too optimistic I’m holding out hope someone high up will change their mind. I brought my two epic 2005 T-Shirts and rode it as much as I could. I’m truly gutted. It’ll never be the same being able to drive up from afar and see the King of Coasters. It’ll never be the same.

It's insane that Scorpion at BGT got a proper announcement and an extra few weeks of last rides added by Seas but Six Flags can't do anything like this for the former biggest and fastest coaster. Shit is a joke

Yeah, I absolutely hate how this new corporation handled this. Part of me thinks that the former Cedar Fair executives had it out for Kingda Ka from the beginning given that this ride stole the records from Top Trill Dragster. Also, hear me out on this, but I wouldn’t be shocked if the ride is actually a multi- launched B&M giga given the good relationship Cedar Fair has with B&M

And now its been slowed down to 0mph 😢

I would buy the park just to save it.

I had this crazy experience at this ride! I was actually unbuckled until 30 seconds before the drop!! I was terrified!! They never heard me screaming, and they never stopped the ride. I will never ride this thing again!

It always played second fiddle to Top Thrill Dragster from the over the shoulder restraints to the theming.

looks better than the standard boomerang for sure but if that is the speed it does (and it probably is looking at the size of the spike) it would be a get the credit and done. Having rides like Nitro, Medusa, and of course El Toro at the park, this will be a mid tier coaster and not a great sub for losing either Ka or Green Lantern (yes it was stand up but did have a great layout). Thanks for doing what you guys do.

Yes kingda ka can be slowed down by the control panel and the ride also has ride test launch booster than can only be operated by maintenance the top speed of the ride is 118 mph not 128

i've gotten so attached to this coaster in just a short few months. i first rode it in august this year and it was breathtaking. i'm so devastated i didn't get more rides on it. i've cried countless times in the last week or two. it's been tough for me- i have a very big sentimental connection to this coaster. i'm angry about the closure and hoping the multi launch replacing it will be good as well. long live the king 👑🤴

They way great adventure handled this whole situation was horrible. I’m from New York so Great adventure is about an hour and a half drive and I don’t see myself making the trip next summer. What an absolute slap in the face to all their loyal customers. Why would I go out of my way to drive an hour and a half to a place that doesn’t care about its customers.

I rode for my first and last time that day. Had a great time meeting people, and really glad I dot the chance to ride.

Went that Saturday but the atmosphere from the community on Sunday had to be amazing.
