I bought a simular oil lamp with “made in China” on the glass. It looked pretty rough, but not as bas as yours with the chipped glass. You did a great job!

Well done! It looks quite rugged and functional. It was a better choice to etch with acid. The mirror finish would have been inappropriate for a knife like that.

Anyone that knows anything about blade crafting knows that the single most important step to any quality blade is the heat treat and tempering, which you failed miserably doing. So much hard work for a blade that will never stay sharp.

This was amazing! I’m glad I found your channel! You really did everything perfectly and have an excellent shop. Those berries grow here too and I like them. Ours grow in white and very dark purple, almost black. I hear they make a nice wine.

Great job. Next time might I suggest a high temperature epoxy. Unfortunately super glue breaks down at high temperatures (like the kind a lamp experiences) so sadly the repair won't last if the lamp is used much. Awesome video though!
