Anybody know what happened to my 1986 Renault 5 GT Turbo, blue, cupcake rims with Pirelli p600s.... D31OGB... Last taxed sept 1991....😢...so im guessing its a gonner. Loved that car....my dad didn't,lol.😊
We hope you track it down@@simmonsrenos9111
Too much Waffle
Not enough maple syrup 🫡 got it@@seamansam 😜
I often thought it would be fun to do a 'barn find' project. Having watched this I'm not so sure any more 🤮
😆 I’ll get you on the next one@@urbandetailer
What are people on about 🫣 the explaining what’s happing works well 👍🏻
Thanks @itwbeech22 we thought so too. Like anything it's trying to find a balance that suits the viewers but it's impossible to please everyone. 👍 thanks for watching chap 🙏
How many sessions have been in motor on cruises to Southend etc no hot rocks on the seats thou
There is one burn in the back@@websta40 😊
Great work Gary!
Thank you @@stephenclyde3349
Excellent work and great shots! I was expecting you to hit the seat belts- knowing how much dirt gets held over time!
👏👏👏
Thank you @@SnaponToolsUK1
I liked it when you cleaned the handbrake the most….👀……but in all seriousness, not enough talking this time 😂 Somewhere in between and you’re golden haha 😉😘
Haha I knew you’d like that bit@@boltsboltsuk I’ll do some dancing in the next one 😜
Sterling work! I always miss my old GT Turbo. One thing I loved that was quite obscure was the gearknob with the flat angle for the palm. It was such a quirky design as were so many little idiosyncrasies of the 5 like the poke out wiper stalk and that canopy over the clocks. Thank you for the upload.
Thank you@@Buck3366 I love hearing so many people remembering the old 5’s and sharing their good memories. Yes lots of cool quirky features in these thing that are very fitting for the era. I’m glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching/following
Amazing results! Great video mate. Not enough talking though 😂
Thank you pal much appreciated @@Chivers_Detailing haha you’re officially the first to say it 😂
Snow foam doesn’t lift or remove dirt unless it’s same day fresh , it just lubricates the surface, making it easier to remove dirt when rinsing
It actually soaks and breaks down more stubborn areas also allowing to dwell in gaps etc to aid the cleaning process @billywatcheseverything4108 remember it is only one of many pre wash stages that should be performed prior to contact washing
Would have been nice to have seen the finished car.
We did show it at the end but maybe not enough @@beachamgroup2482 remember it’s an ongoing thing and the best will come at the end. You’ll have to follow to project 😜 thanks for watching chap
That model still has a huge presence on the road.
Agreed@@beachamgroup2482 🙌
Temporary fix those plastic things brake eventually
Buy a new one then@@alolipa
Can’t wait, you are going to smash this and return this beautiful car back it’s former glory and what she deserves. Good luck Are you planning on restoring all of the suspension and engine ?
Thank you @@TheHotlapMan 🙌 it’s a long road but we’re getting there. So it’ll be going back to Sion in Wales (owner) for body and mechanical restoration and then back us later in 2025 for further detailing, dry ice cleaning, ceramics etc. thanks for watching man hope you enjoy the journey
Giving up on 7 mins 30 seconds, too much talking. Just get on with it.
No stamina @@markcrisp8101 😂👍
Starting to look good mate. Following with interest. I was born in 77 and back in 87-88 I remember a neighbours white GT Turbo parked up the road. I spent many hours looking at it…. My dream car and I’ll probably never afford one now 😢
Thank you @@matteovrizzi we have a long way with it but that’s a project I guess. Good memories hey 🙌 thanks for watching and hope you enjoy the project to come
Can't wait to see how this wee beauty comes together!! As much as others have said there should be less talking, I learned a lot. Maybe a narrating type video would cover both bases... Show us the good stuff whilst hearing what you're doing and why. Beardmeatsfood does it well, albeit an entirely different genre of video. Just my 2p worth though, you're already doing a great job! 👍
Thank you @juststeve24 I'm glad you got something positive from it 👍 I am new to all this on YT and its about what works and what doesn't whilst learning your audience. Unfortunately people are quick to slam you for doing so without giving constructive feedback like you have. Thanks again
Crashed my pearl white 5 in 99. Still got it in a lockup. One day ill sort it.😢
FFS All TALK No Action waste of time
Well there was action @MOSSFEEN can't please everyone but taken on board. The next video will have no talking just action so let's hope you come back and give us a positive reply 👌
Did I miss the bit where you fixed it?
Yep it's at the end of the video @stevewilliams1122
Just get on with it, you talk such a lot before getting on with the job
Can't please everyone @ericzochowski3749 🤷♂️ maybe you'll enjoy our next video... or maybe you won't 😉
Man likes his own voice.
And what a voice it is@@darkviper62 thanks for noticing 👍
@@prodetailinguk show us more of that lovely car my friend. Thanks for response keep up those retro motors I will keep watching and moaning lol.
I've already said to my videographer the next video I'm not talking and will be purely B rolls only @darkviper62 😄😉
To much talking juat get on and clean
Thanks for you're feedback @shanewright2676 it's very difficult if we did the "just clean" and didn't explain what we're trying to achieve people would moan or ask a thousand questions of what's going on! We cannot please everyone and its takes alot to put these videos together. Hopefully you got some tips from it.
my thoughts exactly
@@prodetailingukyou’ve misjudged you’re audience and detailing videos on UA-cam. We want to just see it cleaned. Not be read a book on detailing. Stop dragging out the videos. Two so far and no progress
👍@@Montoya2005
Great Video, thanks for sharing some of your techniques. 👍
Thank you @macaiom 🙌 your very welcome. I'm glad people can learn from them everyday is a school day even for us 🙏
what a tragedy is that. 23min of not showing but talking... is this a yt or a radio?
😄 literally 23 mins of VIDEO @michaelem7883 can't please everyone hey pal 🤷♂️
And yet we find you watching 😂🇬🇧👍🏻
Great video Gary nice T mug bomb looking forward to the next video 👍🏻
Thanks mate still got it 😉 @PaulDoldenDetails
Yeah I kept fast forwarding to find some detailing but got bored 😴
I would be in my element to transform this car, can’t wait to see the finished result.👍
Same here my favourite colour along with the raider blue 🔥😍
Two great colours@@Jamie7ee
Maybe we'll do a coffee meet with it once its completed @pauldallaston8647 could do @caffeineandmachine event👍
Definitely needs a proper detail! Good luck!
It's does indeed@@jonathan___4684😉👍
Looking forward to seeing what you do with this one👍 Outback_RS😎
Thanks mate @liamreid14 hope Australia is treating you well?
I got mine at 19, a tungsten grey one G220PGT with Raider interior - blue seats, grey carpets and blue leather door cards! Still miss it nearly 30 years later!
Sounds like a lovely spec@@kseamus2912
Proper dirt that isn't it! Mint 😂😂
Indeed it is @Matt-uq3in 😊👍
My first car was a D plate 5 turbo, light grey in colour but it had been painted, from that moment on I was hooked! Between the ages of 17 and 25 I had 8 different 5 turbos and each one had there faults but it didn’t bother me, I would just repair it and have myself back on the road the same day. Easily 50% of them had clutch issues and the other 50% was head gasket problems but again it wouldn’t put me off.
Die hard fan @alexanderfraser7791 😊 Yeah, cars of that era were just much easier to repair 👌
Quality car the R5 turbo they look amazing and are like a go kart. They look 100times better imo than the new cars of today
There's something about an old 80's motor right@@Mr_DATA828 👌
How is this coming along? I adore these cars, I dream to own one someday. It's horrible to see it in such a sad state 😢, I can see it's in good hands though and I'm very much looking forward to seeing the series featured on this restoration
Hey @Jamie7ee Episode Two will be coming in less than two weeks so keep your eyes peeled 👍 it definitely deserves to be back to its former glory for sure! Thanks for your interest and following 🙏
When did price Harry start to do detailing leaving the royal family really did hit hard 😂
Haha I've had "Prince William" look a like references my whole life @robbinbanks1311 I've held onto my hair better though... just 😉
slick 50 that's a bad sign that sticker makes a mess of an engine if in good nick , miss my old gt had it till i sold it on 44k in 97 and its rare you see the turbo heat shield and sensor in place, also their not water cooled its a common mistake only the Renault 25 was water cooled.. mine had at least 5 battery's due to the engine cut off cooling fan killing them and all the covers once sold were still in place
Background music is annoying as fuck lads 🖕
My mate had a 350 brake one back in the 90s.. chipped, hybrid turbo and a strapped cooler..
My favourite car 🚗 😊
I hope we do t have to wait a year for Episode 2???
😂 its only been 4 weeks @nezketts5820 No sweat episode 2 will be coming soon in October 👍
In 1999 i bought my 1st red GT turbo for £1200....i then swapped my Sierra Saphire for 1 the same as this 1 so had 2...wish I'd kept both....fantastic cars.....
Awesome stuff @jayb8298 so many people sharing similar stories of them! Good memories hey 👍
1 hole in the sills ? You mean they are still there?
😄 still mostly intact@@rhys180606
As a 52 year old I had one many many years ago still love them one of my most fun cars I have ever had
Definitely from a fun era of motoring @stuartmclaren7285
I had a silver one G333 OLG. I was 19, what a time to be alive 🔥
They were the days right@@jamiebourne8047
I had a blue 1986 gt turbo D31OGB... Cupcake Rims and Pirelli p600s.... The last time I see it was taxed was September 1991...😢 An article said the car top out at 120mph....wrong totally wrong. Really kind of hoped it would still be running somewhere.
I had a dimma wide body r5 turbo with 16 inch split rims when I was 19. Biggest mistake I ever made was selling it 😪😪
I bet that thing was awesome fun@@deanpartridge9545
🎯🪭
Quality on these were awful. Had two back in the day and traded the second one in frø a MK2 Golf. Quality was next level. So there was a difference back then.
bet thats rotten underneath.
She's not too bad@@jamielearmonth1039
A lot of work but worth it because those things are getting coveted & pricey. Wonderful little things with an attitude.
