W. W. 2 Restorations. Vehicles and Equipment.
United States
Приєднався 19 вер 2011
The videos contained in this channel are examples of how a person could repair and service broken and forgotten vintage military vehicles and equipment.
The truck I am restoring is a G-7107, Chevy 1&1/2 ton 4X4. It was built in Oakland Calif. in Oct. 1942. I have restored a 1943 T-24 Weasel, a 1941 Dodge 1/2 ton Command Car, a P.E. 75 Generator and three Ben Hur trailers.
I can't explain the experience of driving a truck that actually makes its' own mechanical music as it's rolling down the road. Even though manufacturers made many examples of the same truck, each one has its' own "personality" and is just a bit different than its' brother.
I believe that it's important that as many of these examples of American History be restored, refurbished and/or preserved in the best possible condition. Because once they are gone, they will never be re-made and THIS part of American History will be gone too.

I actually picked this generator up today, 31 Aug. 2024. (P.E.) = Power Equipment. Production of these little generators began in March of 1943. All of the "early" gens. have cast iron cooling systems. "Later" models were built with sheet metal cooling shrouds to cut weight and save on War Materials. I will be able to find the exact month of manufacture for this unit when I pull the flywheel to...

I purchased a mess of Weasel parts from a good friend who didn't know that he as many parts as he thought. This box was included in the shipment. The was dated 1952 so the even though the carb. is from W.W. 2 era it is not new old stock. No matter, I didn't have one, but now I do.

What was done to the engine to get it from 99hp to 225hp. That's quite a jump.
I have found for myself when working in split rims when taking tire off or putting them back on if I put the rim on a 5 gallon bucket gravity help me
Thanks for watching. Great idea, that bucket trick.....
I have never seen that tool box insert before, awesome find Dave!
Thanks for watching Chris!
Mine burns 1.5 gallons of off road diesel in 24 hours. On setting 1. 1" cold air intake helps with sotting from the diesel fuel
It's a nice unit mine is a 1941 h-model. On setting 1 on off road diesel. It burns 1.5 gallons in 24 hours. U will need 1" cold air intake. To keep it from soothing
How / where do you add the cold air intake? Thanks
I was wondering how that T-case repair was going. Great help to get that part! Yay 😁 Merry Christmas Dave (and to rest of you guys also)
Thanks Tonywan. I purchased a bunch of Weasel stuff and a smattering of CCKW and Chevy parts were in the mix. Merry X-Mas back at ya Mr. Smith! OH, how's Olive doing?
She’s doing fine. Just as lovely as ever. 🥰 (that’s in spite of her often absent caretaker. 🙄) I’ll get a pic now and send it to ya.
Nice find! 😎👍
Indeed Zane. Hope all is well at "The Garage"! Merry Christmas.
Fillet then Skewer
Then BBQ?
More great Green Magnet finds!
@@MrMikey4026 Thanks Mike, Merry Christmas.
Glad it seals Dave! 😁👍
Awesome find Dave! 😁👍
Great idea. Curious if that vinyl hose is impervious to the solvent you are going to use
The affliction continues 😉 outstanding find.
It seems as if it will never end !!!
The Green Magnet strikes again!
IT NEVER ENDS MIKE.
参考になります☺✨ ありがとうございます
You're welcome.
Shit Job
Looking forward to the video to see if it works 😎👍 Happy wrenching Dave! 🔧
Thanks Zane. just started watching your front bumper removal video now.
That tachometer is pretty neat Dave! 😁👍 Sorry you got shocked! 😵💫
Well, everyone at one time or another needs to have an electrifying experience....
Cool tach. Never seen one of those before
Someday, I'll try to get some of my little generators running
Sounds good.
The Illness continues. ;-) A quick Google search finds TM11-903 as a downloadable PDF. Also, a quick search on that auction site yields an oil bath air cleaner. Nothing on the little elbow
I'm North of Vancouver before woodland. Great find Sir.
I got lucky. Thanks for watching my video.
Be careful to not plug an AC only gadget into the generator, you'll cook the gadget
Here are the electrical specs for the generator. It was intended to run a Teletype writing machine which had Alternating Current requirementsof, .25 kw (250 w), 115 v, 2.2 amps.
How do you keep finding this stuff? And it sounds good too
UUUUUMM, I don't know. But my friends in SoCal used to call Me "The Olive Drab Magnet".
@@w.w.2restorations.vehicles698 I am not sure that's a good thing. You know that it is a progressive disease that is eventually terminal!
Great Job! Thank You:)
Awesome find Dave! 😁👍
Thanks Zane. I see that things are starting to pick up over at "The Garage"...
What voltage output is it?
.25 kw (250 w), 115 v, 2.2 amps.
I see YT censorship is even on this channel now.
@@tcmtech7515 What would make you say that? Did something happen?
@@w.w.2restorations.vehicles698 Because my first post disappeared, including the post count of it for this thread, minutes after I posted it. Now I see it back.
Это американский Газон.😂
I wanted to thank you for the video. I have a ‘63 GMC 4000 with these rims and yours was the only video I found that actually showed how to properly work on them. You’re doing great work and it’s appreciated.
Thanks for watchng. I'm happy that I was able to pass some information along to you.
Fuel tank looks great Dave 😎👍
You should see the inside for being 80 years old. It is really clean.
Congratulations, my friend! Continue having fun doing what is interesting to you, we'll be here to watch. God bless! ❤😊
I just came across your channel througgh a comment you had made on a Chrystler A57 engine video... I am so glad I saw your profile picture and name and checked you out! You do some really cool projects and restore some azing vehicles! Keep up the great work, my friend, and God bless. ❤
It took me a moment to remember the Multi-Bank video. Welcome to my channel and a big thanks for your support!
Nice find! 😁👍
Thanks Zane. Hows things over at the garage?
@@w.w.2restorations.vehicles698 Oh slow unfortunately 😥
What are you going to use as a gasket replacement? I have some milspec rubber sheet we can use.
Probably going to find an "O" ring.
I need to take my panels down and get them sand blasted
It will look great with paint on it! I have some old cargo covers if you need some winter protection for your projects.
Thanks Mike, they will. That is next weekend though.
@@w.w.2restorations.vehicles698 or whenever it is convenient for you.
Panels look great Dave! 😎👍
Thanks Zane.
neet project; what type of MPG do you get...10, 12.
Thanks for tuning in. The original engine had Babbit Bearing material in the connecting rods, and it made a whopping 8-15 lbs. of oil pressure and would make about 89 B.H.P. averaging 13 miles per gallon drawing from a 30 gal. tank. The 270 I installed has been built. Insert bearings all around, 65 lbs. of oil pressure, 245 B.H.P. versus 99 B.H.P. (stock) averaging 15-17 M.P.G. from the same tank.
@@w.w.2restorations.vehicles698 wonderbar. thnx. I kinda like babbitt bearings. but you do get higher oil pressure and mileage with the modern. If I had the money, space and skill I'd do a project like this
My trailer came with similar wheels I just dumped the air and toss them in the scrape pile.
Excellent video. I have a 64 Divco with rims like this, do you have video of disassembly of ring and tire?
Bitchen! I have the same divided sterilization pan, but i dont have that cool galvanized lid
Awesome find Dave! I have one of these too, and boy do they get hot
Would You like an spare upper windshield and cover Chris? I found the pans and some accessories and don't need/want the upper protion they came in. I remember Cody cooking S.O.S. one morning at a Chino P.F. event, and boy his stove got really hot!!
@w.w.2restorations.vehicles698 Thanks, Dave, but I have far too much stuff!
@@simich6212 No worries my friend.
My suv has piston slap. Kinda sounds similar
How would i find shows and meets like this? I've never gone to one before but i would like to start
I'm binging all your videos on these trucks, soo when i get one i can fix it up. Plus i learn alot from you
2 Months ago i found out about the beauty of old WWII Trucks. been trying to get a CCKW since. Pretty exciting. even had a dream that i had one yesterday. hahah!
That looks like a really good find.
Thanks. I have a soft spot in my heart for military air compressors and generators.
Nice find Dave! 👀 Even have the original wrenches! 🔧
Thanks Zane. I had a few more videos on my SD card, but the became corrupted and just went away. I'll have to remake them and get them on line.
Mmmmm... I can smell that air cleaner oil from here! Tasty!
Colonge for REAL MEN, like US!!
Score! Outstanding N.O.S. tools and parts!
Survivor genny. Jonesy. It belonged to the young mans granddad and just needed it gone. It has been in storage for a long, long time. Great compression, NO SPARK THOUGH.
You were in my neighborhood and did not stop by? Time is running out to get out to the Chicken Ranch to go scrounging!
First, I didn't know that you were in that area. Second it's not far for a return trip. Third, find my email address on my home page here and drop me a line how to get in touch with you Mister. LASTLY, I'm sorry my friend for NOT stopping by. 🙂
