How to truly elevate from generic and mediocre at the same time: 1. Learn hitboxes, animation, and texturing the player so you can elevate your player from cube/square to whatever you want (as long as it still makes sense) without having really broken hitboxes that change every costume. 2. Keep the level design fun and good. Have at least one thing that sets it apart from the crowd and at the same time doesn't make it worse. Use it all the time and not use it for 1 gimmick level so the rest feels unique. Get a few play testers so you notice things and realize that your level design might be an issue with you and difficult things aren't just a skill issue. Never ever drop off. 3. Don't teach players the very basic controls that exist in every platformer and DO NOT USE THOSE TEXT SNIPPETS. It's just bad and you can tell a story through anything else.

Im trying to create a scratch game where you can create 2d game and post it

In my platformer game Black and White, I do have some features I plan on adding when the full game comes out, which includes a boss battle at the end of the game, and I may make a checkpoint if the boss is at half health. There will be 50 levels, unlike other games that lasts about 10 - 25 levels, there will be simple lore, and there will be a few mechanics a tiny bit of games use, such as Dashing. I believe that B&W2 will be a side-scrolling platformer instead of teleports, since I only know a little much about Scratches coding. Edit: This game may also last around 15 minutes long, unlike other games that lasts about 2 - 5 minutes long.

Hey Mughat! This comment is not related to this video and its ok that you don't want to read it, but can you try out the Blocklive Scratch extension! You may be wondering, "What is Blocklive?" Blocklive is extension that allows group of people to work on a Scratch project. To activate this, you go into a project and click the blocklive button. A few movements later, a box appears, and you can search and add other Scratchers to have access to the project, but there is a problem with some pcs with this blocklive button by the share button. If you click the blocklive button, and it's stuck in an inf loop, this means blocklive still work to you, but you have to give this button some time. I rather decide to put this in a different paragraph. but "How do I get Scratchers permission to make them have access to my project (or theirs)? You want to click the puzzle piece in your browser (I think it's only a puzzle piece for Microsoft) (Other thing just press the button in your browser that shows your downloaded extensions) Open up the block live extension. Few movements later, a box will show up. Put in the Scratcher's username and they will have access to your project, BUT THE OTHER SCRATCHER MUST HAVE YOUR USERNAME IN THE LIST ALSO SO THIS CAN WORK.
