I know this video is a few years old, but just wanted to leave a comment to thank you very much for uploading your process! I’ve been wanting to try making a jolyne costume for a bit, but I’m still a bit new to sewing so it’s great to have a breakdown of someone else’s process to help me figure stuff out and motivate me Using ribbons for the webbing pattern is a great idea! I was considering fabric paint but was really worried about the longevity of the paint as I’ve noticed it tends to crack after a while.

I wanted to buy the cosplay bc it seems like a lot of effort to make, but I'm tall and i don't think any of the premade cosplays will look good on me bc of that so i think i need to actually make it orz so thank you again!!! And i never thought about using contact cement for the edges, was your needle fine sewing through that? I guess you can probably only use it on synth leather and not thinner fabrics?

Honestly, when I saw the tutorial (that was incredibly useful and well-put together!) I thought that adding a sort of pocket to the zipped openings that looks like the distorded space his zippers open on would be a nice touch, like a fun little detail! You look gorgeous, I love it!

Do you recommend making the pleat fold 2 or 3 times the pleat size? For exmaple if i wanted a 2 inch pleat size should I use 4 inches for the pleat fold or 6 inches.
