Wow, I didn’t know that! I was told that you need something like that to allow you to service the rear breaks but glad you mention it.

I remove it from my other mini and notice a difference that’s how I can tell that it’s works

@@minicooperstyle0176 I replaced the front pads, but it still gives the error on the on-board computer. I tried your example of taking off the handbrake, but nothing happened. I have Countryman F60 2019

@@istintiostili3342 wow I don’t know if the rear break process works for the front process You would think it would, apparently it doesn’t. Is your break sensor OEM sometime non OEM sensor won’t work and you won’t be able to reset.

Let me know if that work, releasing the ebrake. I am going to attempt my boy’s bmw x2 2022 rear breaks hopefully it’s the same process . Good look!

@@minicooperstyle0176 Also, where can I buy that tool you used to turn cylinder in or I could use c clamps or something else?

Can't seem to find where the brake fluid bottle is either on the Mini. May have to move some coverings or something.

@@cummminana I purchased it thru Amazon and you need that tool to retract the piston back. It needs to rotate as you apply pressure to back it back in.

@@minicooperstyle0176 guy used an Autel scan tool to retract and then he just pushed the piston in like normal, instead of what we did (twist in). But guy also used t45 to remove the caliper bolts and I used like a hex 6 or 7. T45 does fit but it really is a hex. Kinda like using a SAE on a metric bolt.

Congratulations on the video. I'm thinking of changing my rear pads on my 2018 Clubman. I have the tool for the piston but I don't have the scan. From what I've already verified, I don't see any differences in the whole system compared to the Countryman with EPS. I wonder if at the end of changing the pads it was necessary to do some calibration to the EPS button? Thanks

@@joaoduarte2016 I don’t think so, since my break change I have had no indication that I would think other wise. I think it should be the same process with your clubman.

It works well gives it a good look And it’s not to hard to install Wish I did an install vid

@@minicooperstyle0176 I have mine still in the box since December I still have to install it I’m just worried of it hitting the ground since I lowered the car

Hi Jake, I did not use a scanner tool at all. Just how I recorded the video is how I did it. It work for my 2019 s countryman but perhaps its different for other models that I do not know.

I did it without. But my F60 is from 2017. I hear there are the new models of the F60 do need the scanner, but you can easily try and find out. If its stuck, its def. a no go. But mine easily. Just like regular ways to change the brakes. Good luck
