Getting a dog to take medication can be tricky, but my vet suggested a surprising method: Putting it inside a marshmallow. And it worked! Keep in mind, NEVER give a dog a food containing xylitol or artificial sweetener, including marshmallows so read that ingredient list And it's always a good idea to speak with your vet first.

How often can you give liver to your dog?
About every week or every other week. It just depends on what I pick up at the grocery store. I feed my dogs a very wide variety of meats, grains, veggies, and even fruit. All my best to you and yours! 👍
How often should you feed your dogs, beef, liver, and different livers?
Thanks for watching! As with humans, every dog’s nutrient needs will differ. I advise conferring with your vet about how often to feed your dog liver. Personally, I feed organ meats to my dogs a few times a week. All my best to you!
I’m glad I found your video. I knew my dog loved it but I wanted to make sure it was good for them and not too powerful for them but now I feel it thank you.
My husband brought some beef liver home and cooked it. I think you should’ve cooked a little bit more because there’s a little bit of blood in the bottom they absolutely love it and I think my cat lives it too but tomorrow I’m gonna cook it a little bit more and put some rice in with it. I mixed it with some hamburger they loved it.
No liver or organs! Calcium is needed
Calcium is indeed an important nutrient for dogs. Here’s an entire video I made on that topic: Calcium and dogs | A vital nutrient to know ua-cam.com/video/sd3z17F-6-g/v-deo.html
Fried chicken liver is the best. For us, not dogs lol
More chicken, more veggies, less rice and lentils. Also use deboned chicken breast, thighs are too high in fat. Lose the salt.
The wonderful thing about making your own dog food: You get to choose exactly what’s in it! 👍
☠️ Why would you give your dog vegetable oil? It’s straight up poison! 3:24
You can always use butter, lard, or another type of fat of your choice to prevent sticking. Cheers.
I've always been confused about this topic. It's very common to hear all of the health benefits of eating liver, but how can this be when the function of this organ is to filter? In other words, it strains impurities and waste products
What if my air fryer only has up to 200 degrees maximum?
That is likely the temperature in Celsius. You can try switching it to read Fahrenheit. But for this application, 200 C (about 390 F) works just fine.
Oh gosh I saw wrongly, I saw 390 as the degrees 😅 sorry about that
Important to go salt and sugar free on the canned items. Enjoyed the video!
Thank you! 🙏
Is the smell really bad??
Well, I find it quite strong, but everyone’s senses are different. Maybe cook it outside the first time to see (smell?) what you think.
If I used white rice and chicken, would it still be 4 cups of water for 3 cups of rice? How long would it take?
I would add a little more water. And to make sure the chicken is cooked, I would use white meat and cut it into small pieces.
Vegetable oil is very unhealthy for humans and dogs! Manufacturers use hexane to extract the oils.
I understand some folks might not want to use it. Pls substitute a fat of your choice. All my best to you and your dog 🙏
Goats milk.
Stop! LENTILS CAUSE HEART DISEASE IN DOGS, DO NOT ADD IT TO THEIR DIET! Potatoes, lentils, and beans cause DCM/heart disease. To the dude doing this video please add a disclaimer to this and do some research before doing any more of these videos.
Interesting. This latest university study and other research seems to say otherwise - www.veterinarypracticenews.com/lentils-beans-not-linked-to-canine-heart-problems-researchers-say/#:~:text=Lentils%2C%20beans%2C%20and%20field%20peas,U%20of%20G)%20in%20Canada. Which research are you citing? And, as with nutrition and diet for humans, if you don’t feel comfortable giving your dog certain nutrients, then either dont or consult with your vet. Cheers!
If I substitute beef liver as my meat if choice for this, would it still be the stew instant pot setting? & What are your thoughts on using liver for dogs?
Absolutely, that should work great. As for liver, I cook it regularly for my dogs, usually sautéed in a skillet. Here’s a video on how I do it, plus some tips to deal with the smell: How to cook beef liver for dogs ua-cam.com/video/uIafdmHeS2A/v-deo.html
Awesome!! Great looking pup too!!!
Thank you! 🙏
I'm trying to help with digestion, my Corgi has loose stools. Is adding pumpkin to this recipe a good option?
Oh I’m sorry to hear that about your Corgi. My dogs have benefited from pumpkin when having loose stools, so it’s worth a try. As always, discuss this with your vet if unsure. You might also want to check out wheat berries, which have also helped my dogs with bowel issues. Here’s a video on those: Constipated dog? Here's my SECRET ingredient! ua-cam.com/video/y9XKi9MV3u0/v-deo.html
I was told that avocados are poisonous to dogs. Is this not true? Generally curious since you cook with the oil?
I believe the compound in avocados that can be potentially harmful to dogs is persin. But according to PetMD, that substance is not in avocado oil. However, the oil is fattening, so best check with your vet beforehand. Here is more info: www.petmd.com/dog/nutrition/can-dogs-eat-avocado
I eat chicken livers they’re delicious actually.
Right on! 👍
can you give no sugar applesauce
It depends. If it’s made from just apples and no artificial sweeteners, it should be ok. As always, check with your vet, and remember that an artificial sweetener like xylitol can be catastrophic to dogs. Here is more about artificial sweeteners and dogs from AKC: www.akc.org/expert-advice/nutrition/artificial-sweetener-safety-for-dogs/
How do you know how much to feed your dog? My dog is 110 pounds
Every dog has different needs, but I think this chart from PetMD offers a good guideline: www.petmd.com/dog/nutrition/are-you-feeding-your-dog-right-amount
Thanks for great ideas I'm getting making some
Thanks for watching! I hope your pup enjoys them as much as mine do. 🙏
My dog separates it and just eats the meat wasting the Rice and veggies.
Interesting. My dogs love it all, lol.
Where the heck do you get all these organ meats???
Surprisingly, they are all available at a mainstream market near my house called Stater Bros. I also can find them at my local Hispanic markets in Southern California. Here is a more general video on where to buy, etc: What Is Offal? 5 Things To Know About Variety Meats ua-cam.com/video/aI0o2lcmPPg/v-deo.html
Thank you for your breakfast recipe. I have 2 chi’s I’m cooking for …. And I’m a new to this way of feeding. I have found the older dog 8 has been more active since I’ve made this change.
That’s wonderful to hear, and they are so lucky to have you as a dog mama! Wishing all the best to you and your pups 🙏
Are eat steel oaks Because it won’t shoot my blood sugar up real high
I guess not because I’ve done it before, and it gets a lot thicker than that
Can you do it in a microwave for 30 seconds?
Unfortunately that just won’t be enough time. That would likely be too short even for standard oatmeal. Steel-cut oatmeal is thicker and denser, and that means a longer cooking time. All my best to you and your dog! 🙏
Is it OK to steam liver
Yes, that should be fine 👍
Hello from Scotland , luv your videos , very helpful ,,thankyou ,
Thank you very much! Cheers 🙏
Please don't promote refined vegetable oils. They cause leaky gut syndrome. Use Ghee or the white porc bacon from the back of the pig instead. It's tasty and so much healthier than any vegetable oil.
You forgot to mention another reason to eat and feed eggs: they have all kinds of really good vitamins! Since I went all carnivore myself, I eat at least 4 chicken eggs every single day. My dog gets 2 raw eggs on Sundays together with either white cheese or cream cheese. On all the other days, my dogs get 2 boiled or poached eggs together with their kibble. 😊
You shouldn't use just any vegetable oil! Refined oils are very unhealthy to consume. Only extra vergine cold pressed olive oil, avocado oil, palm oil, and coconut oil are healthy for dogs and humans. For the airfryer, you might want to use the white bacon from the pig's back. Just cut up some of it into small pieces and put it on the meat. It's delicious and also the meat's protein needs carnivore fat to be digested easier. It also seals the guts, while refined vegetable oils and transfats cause the leaky gut syndrome.
hello there
We all know those are not actually livers right? 😂
They are chicken livers, directly from the package I bought at market. Cheers.
Vid is too long.. u can just say fry them until cooked 😅. Im expecting something different in the preparation.
Hey there. First off, thanks for watching. So this was my first ever UA-cam video, and obviously I still had - and still do - have a lot to learn. But we all need to start somewhere, right? I hope you can at least get something out of it. And yes, those are definitely chicken livers. All my best to you and your dog. 🙏
I read that white meat chicken is much easier for dogs to digest than dark meat. Dark meat is also higher in fat and can cause stomach problems.
Liver only needs 40 seconds per side. You’re killing all the nutrients. People, cook your dog some liver. Just don’t cook it like this guy.
I don't know what you're going on about Liver and onions is the best. Man up
lol. Different strokes for different folks. Glad you enjoy it. Cheers!
P.s. thank you for your video. Very helpful.
Thanks for watching! All my best to you and your dog 😀
Love your video. Question...can I boil it along with veggies??
Yes, you sure can!
Thank you for your response.@@BarkingGoodChef
TRUTH BE TOLD: No dog food made by man is good for dogs. The same applies to cats. Those new foods like "Farmers Dog" are all made to appeal to humans. Dogs have no real need for fruits or vegetables in their diet. It's really all about marketing to humans to make more money, not necessarily about the nutrition and the well-being of your pet dog or cat. REALITY: The perfect food for your dog, or cat does not appeal to the average person. WHY? It's too expensive to maintain on a regular basis for a dog or cat. THE PERFECT FOOD FOR YOUR DOG OR CAT is actually the exact same foods you would feed to a pet boa constrictor; Feeder Rats, Feeder Mice, Feeder Guinea Pig and Feeder Rabbits. These animals contain all the perfect nutrition and vitamins (organs, brain, bone, and blood) your dog and cat need to be as healthy as they can be. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME, ASK YOUR LOCAL VETERANARIAN.
I read that you aren't suppose to feed them those beans, cuz I have alot of them I need to get rid of them because I don't eat them and nobody else I know does.
As always, I’d encourage you to confer with your veterinarian. My dogs love them and have eaten chickpeas for years. Cheers 👍
If the world was flat we would be able to walk off of it.
Umm, agreed. The shirt is referring to a type of car engine 😀
Hi, I have a litter of 3 month old French bulldog puppies. I have this same exact bone meal powder and would like to supplement them with this, while they are in the early stages of development. My vet is very traditional and she’s not the type to recommend any extras into the puppies diet, she just says to have them on a good quality kibble and ends it there. I would still like to incorporate this into their diet, is there any way you could recommend a dosage for me? If not I totally understand but if you could I’d really appreciate it. Thank you!
Hi and thanks for the question. Unfortunately I don’t have expertise in that topic as I’m a chef, not a canine nutritionist. I would suggest continuing to work with your vet and monitor the pups’ health and development. I know they will fare well under your loving care. Wishing you all the best 🙏
I use shredded Mozzarella cheese, put a little in your hand, get it nice and warm so it's moldable around the pill.
Great idea! Thanks for sharing. 👍
So glad to find this video. That’s even the brand I have in my freezer for my Giant German Shepherd, Duke. EDIT: I have the calf liver & purchased for that very reason, the membrane!
Glad to hear! Cheers 🙏
Why bother cooking it?
I personally don’t do raw meats for my dogs due to quality issues with the meat supply. Cooking meat kills pathogens that can lead to sickness. If you’re doing raw, please trust that quality of the meat to the fullest extent. Cheers.
