CRAZY High Resolution Lunar Imaging!!!
Great job. I just built mine very similar too using your method. We have no frost line here in Florida, but using a spade, I dug down about 15 inches square. The spade kept the soil on the sides undisturbed so it would act like a strong form. I made a form above ground three inches high, added tied rebar and filled the whole thing with concrete. The rebar extended 30 inches up from the ground. I let that set for a week then placed the 10 inch Sonotube on top of that. For the steel plate, I used 12 inch long carriage bolts. That should hole my AM5 really good!
Thanks for the wonderful in-depth tutorial. As with other posters here , you've inspired me to make this purchase even though I live in Las Vegas. Can you tell me where you found the toboggan to cover the end of the reflector to avoid light leaks at the mirror end . I am currently imaging with a ZWO 80 mm refractor . Some of the videos I've seen on collimation put me off a little. But I saw one using a concentric collimation eye piece that seems to avoid some of the issues or cost of the other tools. I even deeply researched using it with a ZWO 2600 duo camera and apparently if used with a German GPU, coma corrector it is possible for the light to illuminate both the main and the guide sensor And hopefully since it's only 20 pounds and 3 feet long my AM3 mount will be able to handle it. Thanks again for such a nice job.
Passed the test...
Wow! Outstanding!
is it skywatcher 200/800?? i got 150p quattro but my astrophotos are light years away from yours in quality and detail :P . im in a bortle 7-8 sky . eq5 mount ( i would like get am3 ) asi air plus , asi 533mc pro , 60/240 guidescope . nice job .
@@fotoenvrossi3104 thank you! it’s a stellalyra (GSO) 8 inch f5. 1000mm. I have a review video on it from last year. I love it so much. Great bang for the buck. I use a zero asi2600 color with it.
Nice job!
Amazing what can be achieved with a small amateur telescope these days. This is ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY! People that are not used to it can't believe we are able to do such photos. Great video!
Thank you for the great review! I've been running a Hyperstar C9.25 for quite a while, and while I love it, there's a whole lot of stuff I don't bother shooting because the image scale is just too small at 514 mm FL. I've got the gear to run the C9.25 at f/6.3, with the same Askar M54 OAG and filter drawer incidentally, but smaller 294 camera. But then I have the oppposite extreme, too big an image scale. Been looking at 1000 mm FL newts as a happy medium, and was specifically looking for an 8" f5 vs a 10" f4 due to the weight of the 10"s. Sadly, aside from carbon tube TS UNC/ONTC at 3 times what I wanted to pay, I was running into a whole lots of "not in stock" for GSO 8" f5s. Plenty of inexpensive 10" f4s, but again, more massive than I want to hang on my CEM40. Glad to see these Stellalyre branded GSOs are still available from FLO, and shipping to the US sounds painless! I am so close to pulling the trigger, based in large part on your review, being about the only recent review of an 8" f5 newtonian I've found. Thanks again!
And congrats on both clearing up whatever the YT issue was, and big congrats on punching your commercial ticket! One day I'll go get my private, but as a hobbyist, it costs worse than astrophotography, lol. So I'll be sticking with part 103 powered paragliding for the conceivable future.
Just one word, OUTSTANDING , you have captured the true heavenly experience. I wish my astrophotography pics processed half as well as those. WELL DONE!
@@batfirewaf123 Thank you so much!!!!!
Awesome video Cowboy!!!!!
hey mate, from which platform do you have licensed that stunning blade runner sequences?
@@spacecowboy41 it was actually a cover I found on UA-cam mimicking the song Mesa, and Tears in rain. I loved it as soon as I heard it
@@AstroPilotchannelthanks for the quick response trevor, cs michael
@ not a problem! thanks for the comment, clear skies my friend!
Trevor, you are my favorite astrophotographer. Your images are stunning.
@@cigarnationwarriors thank you so very much! That means a lot, clear skies my friend.
Mesa from Blade Runner. Outstanding
What wonders and secrets of the universe a man can uncover from his garden shed.
I got an 8” f4 this year. It replaced the zs73 APO. Everyone told me that I had made a big mistake. They couldn’t have been more wrong! Yes, collimation adds on to the routine and it takes some efforts to carry it around. But that’s not an impossible job. Makes me feel more involved when I see the final image even after a long time. With a cc like the one you got or sky watcher Quattro f4 cc, you are sorted. AM5 handles it very nicely. You need some CWs though.
Everyone has no idea what they are talking about lol. Large aperture will always output a thousand times more details. Yes, APOs are great for wide-field and easy to use, but if you want performance and fine details at large focal length, reflectors are the way to go. There is no APO that will ever beat that.
Hello, Enjoyed watching your video! I just started converting my backyard tool shed for my observatory Monday. I noticed you have installed the neoprene rubber. Where did you purchase and were you able to find it by the roll or what?
Love the image, and Vangelis!
Beautiful shot, love the detail!
Fantastic result but I prefer the name "The Outer limits" galaxy
@@cliveroberts415 thank you!!! Great name! Definitely more fitting

You and that Newt are a phenomenal pair. Unbelievable detail. 🔭👏👏👏

Way too slow and over talking.
Stunning image Trevor. I'm a big fan of this style of video. Minimalist presentation of a beautiful scene with music to match. Just sublime!
Call me old fashioned...but I love diffraction spikes .excellent shot.
Amazing dude 👍🏼
Lovely shot
well done my friend. the detail is awesome! Astonishing picture!

Awesome walkthrough Thanks man!!!
Another Question: why not combining Blue and green instead throwing away the blue?
Why not GraXpert instead of DBE?!
Hi Trevor, I purchased this scope after your product review... Can't say how much I love this scope! I wanted to know if you have seen that Ageno Astro now has a GPO Focuser that is EAF compatible and has a built in rotator. If so, have you purchased it and using it? I know in this video you mentioned the lack of a rotator.
Nice work on the J bolts and adaptor plate. Normally running the ethernet cable in the same conduit as power is a no, no but I suppose it is only a short distance.
Very nice setup and excellent results! 👍
I hope you read this message it’s 2024 and I just moved to that neighborhood. I don’t know if I’m gonna last long.😢😢😢
So basically, when you're not shooting astrophotography, you'll be leaving plane trails for the rest of us to watch for in our subs?? 😂 Congrats on your license!
being a youtuber must suck in this current gen of things.
Nice video, do you have a video with a DSLR attached to it? Thanx for the info.
Awesome shots! I felt like the monolith was about to appear at any moment with the detailed images!
Hahaha
This is a good channel, good to see you back!
Excellent that you are back and issues resolved. Congratulations on commercial pilot. I'm from a family of pilots (unfortunately I started my journey weeks before 9/11 and the PDK where I was training was closed for an extended time). But love all aspects of flying from the right seat.
I remember the first time I captured the needle. Such a cool image. Can I make a recommendation? Put your gear list in the description of your videos (template it in). Would love to know! And I did look over your videos and saw you have one describing your equipment. ua-cam.com/video/0aoQ9iqcKb8/v-deo.html
Nice to see you back, great video and super image, and a new subscriber here….👍🏻
Welcome back 😊
Welcome back, congrats on the pilot license. Looking forward to more astro videos :)
