Join me for my favourite ride of the year so far. The snow has arrived and I decide to take advantage of it, as cycling in the snow is a once-a-year event if I'm lucky! The clouds clear enough to take some photos of the stars at the end of the ride, and I'm blessed throughout with peace and serenity.

The second and final day of the Festive 500. I felt a lot worse than yesterday but still went out. The weather was worse too, so a simple ride to Ynyslas it was! Not much happens in this ride but I do a tour of a deserted Christmas Day Aberystwyth.

Join me for a short cycle to the next parish, where I try to find a woodchat shrike. Normally they breed as far north as Spain / Central Europe however one has made it to the Ceredigion Coast. Today's ride marks the fourth anniversary of my ordering the Wombat (my bike's nickname) and I'm marking the occasion with a simple post work out and back along the Ystwyth Trail. I do three anniversary rides per year God willing: once to mark the ordering, the delivery and the first ride.

I ride rim brakes, and hit a massive stone at 17.00! Yes, the weather's very hit and miss, we get four seasons in one day sometimes!

Excellent riding,I knew that area well having lived in Bont ,thn Swyddffonnon, before moving down to Mydroilyn now in Ireland. I used to ride up the fear as a route home from Aberystwyth. Enjoy your travels .
