Not sure if you missed this toy Kaden while you were growing up at four years old but you did have a gazillion others to play with. Just wanted to say I appreciate you and your parents sharing your plane to help me learn to be a better pilot.

Nice. I was gifted one of these in 1981. I'm currently reburshing it. New belts. New hubs. Oil where it needs it. Grease where it needs it. New power cord. I used it in the 80's, then was in my garage for a few decades.
cool vid and cool R2R- Ive got a TC 255 that was my Dad's...still works fine!
Can you control the volume from the output knob? On those Teac A-1500? Anyone know? Thank you
Yes you can.
Great songs.🙂
One of these for sale in my area but i already have too many decks.
I guess the W stands for wood..
Man si Russ went from M's Pop Muzik to Nazareth's Hair of the Dog...
Very nice sound and excellent music choice
Oooh look at my baby jam!!
Hi do you have any idea what size tape this machine uses?
7.5 inch reels, 1/4 inch tape.
Sounds great!
thanks!
Do you put these hub adapters over the rubber pads, or do you take the rubber off?
rubber pads are used in case your reels are a little warped.
I grew up with this exact model in our house. I loved it.
I enjoyed listening to it💖👍
U know what year this deck was made ?
1969
What is the point of this video? I just inherited an old TC-355 & was looking for tips on how to use it. All this does is show that you have one that works. So the point of this video is...what?
I made this video to prove it worked before it was sold.
I’m interested in a windrose, how do you find she handles. Any quirks to mention. I see she heels over pretty steep, does she stiffen up at any point? Thanks for the videos
Fantastic your Teac, have the same one but does not record, come form an uncle, then my father and now to me, since was new.
How are you certain it does not record?
@@justsayspots Nothing, try to calibrate heads, no input signal
Who sing the last song please
@@georgejarry3964 so you're not getting any vu meters needles moving when you set it to monitor the source? These decks normally don't have issues recording when they get older.

Forever missing you!!
Beautiful...
I have this very machine but am having trouble finding belts for it. The take up reel doesn't take up .LOL
Belts are not the issue as this machine has direct drive motors for the reels. Is the brake on the take up reel stuck?
Thanks so much for your response. The take up reel turns but not strongly enough to keep up with the tape winding? I actually took the machine and left it for a month with Teac in Southern California and they said they couldn't fix it. That was ten years ago and it's been in a box since then. I thought it was belts but I guess I was wrong.
Teac couldn't fix it? That's unfortunate. If the take up reel turns, then it could be some capacitor that may need to be replaced. However I feel that there must be some friction of some type that is preventing the take up reel to turn faster. Have you tried lubricating the bearings?
. I've never taken it apart but it seems like Teac should have thought of that. Thanks anyway.
What are your plans for it?
Bought one of these, so excited, it sounds amazing.
congrats!!
I need a new fuse for mine, anyone know where to get one?
which fuse?
Sorry, I didn't know there was more than one. Does "8/10 A-125v" help? Cause that's really all I know about it. Also thanks for getting back to me in the first place.
8/10 A 125v means it's a 8 to 10 amp 125 volt fuse. You'll have to search online as I don't know the size of it since I sold this deck years ago. Hope this helps :)
It does help, thank you! At least now I know what these numbers mean. Do you know how I could find out the size? I don't mean to pick your brain apart but so far you're the only one that knows about this stuff that's responded (And I'm so grateful!).
It's a cartridge fuse, If you can find a store around you like a radio shack (out of business) but somewhere where they have fuses, they should have it, it's pretty common. Just take the fuse with you, match the size and the numbers then you'll be in business.
I still have my Teac 1500w that I purchased while serving in Vietnam... I need to replace the belts but still looks like new!!!
Love his songs.. please post more of his songs..
hi there do you know anyone who repairs these reel to reels. i have the same model
I have had to learn how to repair these myself via service manuals. What is the issue with yours?
Hi there, didn't notice you replied thanks. i know nothing about electronics. i really like the sound on your deck. my issues are two. the left side is silent the right muffled. when i brought it i was told both issues were probably minor. are you in uk? if so i would pay you to get my machine sounding as good as yours it was infact this above youtube that if i remember correctly inspired me to get this model
can you shoot a pic from the back of the reel and post in imgur.com and send the link here Matthew?
Not in the u.k. Problem may be as simple as replacing the rca out jacks.
Hey guys.. I just picked one of these up for $9 at Goodwill in perfect working order with Teac take up reel and power cord.
congrats!
I have one too... it refuses to cooperate. :)
where are the outputs located on here?
Keith Alva on the back of the deck
rca jacks on the back of the deck
VERY nice sounding! but I haven't gotten around to working on mine
I have one of these
hey charles, i made it myself.
Hi Kiko Oliver! I just got a Teac 1500w player. I bought it today.. Without any reel tapes.. And would like to know to find that Keb MO reel to reel tape. I would appreciate it. Thanks much!
Will probably be pretty tough to find those, however, When Teac switched brand names to "tascam" they continued to use the smooth spindles, so any hub that uses a twist/friction system to keep the hubs on will work.
The 7030SL used the rubber reel holders not like the one in your video even though it is also a 10 1/2" machine.
Yours is really nice!
And you can't miss with Dire straits👍
I want to get the ones that have the spring loaded twist lock like on the GSL. Those rubber push on will not hold the big reels securely for 7 inch reels they are ok but not for the heavy 10 1/2 reels. I will look for the GSL reel tables.
@@SDsailor7 part number for those is TZ612A.
those are the teac 7030 original hubs
I just bought the A-7030SL today and i was trying to remove the plastic cover from the pinch roller to clean the and lube the shaft and it wont come off i tried turning clockwise and counterclockwise and nothing, It does turn but it wont come off. does it unscrew by turning counterclockwise (left)? Thank you
@@SDsailor7 Should remove easily by turning counter-clockwise. If it is turning, but not coming off, then the shaft may be spinning with the cover as well.
@@justsayspots Thank you for replying back. I don't think the shaft was turning but I will double check. I have a A-2300s and a,A-3300sx and the pinch roller covers come off counterclockwise with no problem. So I will keep working on it. By the way do you know if the service manual for the GSL applies to the SL? Thank you
@@SDsailor7 The decks are identical except for the heads. The GSL has glass ferrite heads, the SL did not. So yes, the service manual could also apply to the SL.
@@justsayspots Well i figured the problem with the pinch roller cover it just needed some persuasion and a pair of channel locks the cover was not hurt in the process. Found out that i have a problem in playback in tape mode no sound output i made a recording and i get output in source mode only. I have isolated the problem to the monitor switch and VR104 and VR204 still troubleshooting.
hello, i have this tape machine and i don't have the nab hub adapters in the video, the black circles in the center of the reels that keep the large tape reels from falling off. What model or brand are these hubs? thanks in advance!
Thanks for making this video. i just found on of these for $40 buck....dont know how well it works but its nice to hear what it sounds like when it is working!
+Chris Kurz . Wow, $40? Great deal! Hope you can bring it back to life, thanks!
too bad the audio engineer decided the beach boy wannabe guitar player deserved more volume level then what they paid me for to be a freelance guitar pro.
There's nothing that sounds like good old analog tape. Glad there's some of us still around.
Can the volume be controlled from the output knob? Nice sounding Teac! Thank you
MAN YOU SURE DO HAVE QUITE A FEW MACHINE JUST LIKE I DO. I GLAD THERE SOMEONE ELSE OUT THERE LIKE THE SOUND OF OPEN REEL TAPE LIKE I DO.

Hi there Kiko, how do the reels stay on the reel tables? a friend gave one of these but it does not have those locking hubs i know that some have a built in locking mechanism but mine does not. The model i have is the same as yours. any ideas as to why? I could set it flat on a table so that the reels dont come off. You have a very good looking and sounding reel to reel Rob
+Rob Hernandez - Look for these on eBay, search for "reel to reel holder". Most of the ones listed aren't made specifically for this, but they'll work, and they're much cheaper than OE parts.
Thank you Payninda. Will do.
