Gurgaon | Snippets of a Work Trip
This was my (Carol) fifth trip to Gurgaon; it is usually during the year-end that I would visit, and always because of work. What I love most about India is its lovely hospitality and delicious food. The local colleagues never failed to gift me something each trip and have even driven me to the Taj Mahal (five hours return trip from Gurgaon) during their weekend. As for the food, it can be very very spicy and very very delicious - I haven't been back in five years so I ate my favourite Aloo Bhaji (potato curry) & Puri breakfast straight for three days. I didn't get to stay at an Indian chain hotel (Oberoi or Leela) this time, they generally provide better service and can make everything feel more luxurious.

Okuhotakadake | 3D2N Hike in the Japanese Alps
Переглядів 23114 днів тому
Located in the Northern Japanese Alps, Okuhotakadake (Mount Okuhotaka) is the third highest peak in Japan at 3190m where we spent 3 days and 2 nights. We originally planned to hike another mountain in Hakuba but the bad weather closed off two of the trails. Pivoted to this mountain as it was something familiar. With multiple routes up the mountain, we took the easier Kamikochi - Karasawa - Okuh...

We have a soft spot for Ebisu and try our best to stay here during our Tokyo trips. At night, when the retail shops are closed, we would take a walk to Daikanyama T-Site (used to open till 2am in the past) and spend a few hours reading. It takes longer to walk from Ebisu to Shibuya than to Daikanyama and Nakameguro. If you don’t feel like walking, Ebisu is on the JR Yamanote train line and Shib...

When we first visited Nasushiobara in the summer of 2019, we stayed at Art Biotop (sadly, which has now closed) and thoroughly enjoyed the cool highlands even though it was only for a night. We discovered after leaving the town that there were plenty of places to visit, such as N's Yard. Finally went back and did everything we could squeeze into one weekend and a day. We visited Mashiko, which ...

Need to visit the best men’s store called Marais
Thanks for the recommendation! Just googled Marais and realised we went to the QV store but didn't take content as we got distracted by shopping. We like Marais and INCU :)
Stumbled upon your vlog as I was researching for Nasushiobara. We are keen to visit the Nara museum in our next trip but know little about the town itself. Was it easy to find parking places around the town for the shopping stops? Thanks 😊
Yes, it was easy as most of the stores had at least one or two parking lots for their customers. The larger establishments would have proper car parks. Hope you do get to visit the museum!
Beautiful views!
It was! One of the more scenic hikes I’ve done in Japan
Great vlog! Nice vibe :)

Really love your travel vlogs, especially the Japan ones! Where/how do you find these tasteful places to go? Are there any places/shops/cafes in Fukuoka or Kyushu you’d like to check out?
Thank you for taking time to leave a comment! Mostly through magazines, social media and vlogs, sometimes we chance upon it in real life or while browsing Google Maps. Recently, we discovered @olivia.memorandum on UA-cam - I think you should check out their Fukuoka vlog! We haven't researched much on Kyushu as there are so many areas to visit in Japan
Hey Carol, absolutely love your style of vlogging. So relaxing and engaging. ❤ can’t wait to see more!

I loved this video because you explored so many places but looked relaxed the whole time. We’re visiting Melbourne soon but only for a few days. Looks like I’ll have to plan another trip. I’m curious, how did you know about all those places to eat and stay, even a hotel that had only been open a week?
Thank you for watching! Most of the places came as recommendations from friends or hotel staff. We did a fair bit of walking within the city as well, and chanced upon some. As for the new hotel, it’s a branch of an American boutique hotel group. It was on our radar and happened to open for reservations a few weeks before the trip.
Liked how there wasn't any voice narration - you can just observe and enjoy the video, was quite relaxing actually. Thanks for sharing what I would call a pretty ideal 10-day holiday - food, strolling/exploring, more food. (10 days - quite a luxury/rarety these days :)). Visiting Melbourne next month and have noted a few of the places. :)
Thanks for taking the time to leave such a kind comment! As we document our travels in hopes of helping others to plan their itinerary, we are glad that you enjoyed our content :) Do update us after you have visited Melbourne
