Good podcast lads. Jack the Brit knows jack s@@t about most subjects but actually has a a clue about F1 😂
Love the poddy got me into F1
40:20 This is absolutely hilarious listening 6 months on, hahahah.
I had a thought about 2 hrs ago about a comment I wanted to make...but then I forgot. Mostly due to kitchen wine...yes I watch this horse-raddish while cooking...and drinking red-whaan... But then at Ep4 I remembered!!!!! Everytime Dave refers to "Our" or "Mine" regarding the F People its amazing! I think thats why they have such a following 😂 people are properly invested! Keep it up! My water "intercooler " "tourqe" is getting better! Skin, feel free to use your Biology degree to correct my spelling 😂😂😂😂
Wheres your commitment Skin! Wake up at Sparrows Fart to watch a handful of blokes going round and round! Poor Dave! Just hanging out by his lonesome 😂
My dumb work "friends" watch this formula 1 nonsense. Now I watch this horse-radish to try and have some codswholip to "tourque" about at the water "inter-cooler". See how easy it is Skin? 😂😂😂 Great show lads! Really great to see Dave stepping out of the shadows!
Brake Bias is more about how the car turns and how much grip you are giving to the front or rear tires. If the bias is towards the front there is more weight on the front tires and the grip will increase, thus the car will turn sharper causing oversteer (faster rotation of the car). More bias towards the back will put more weight on the back allowing slower rotation but more grip for accelerating out of the corner. This creates understeer.
Multiple reasons for this - some, like me, just like the sport so I don't have a particular team I support. And for a lot of other people, it might be a specific driver they follow rather than a team and the merch is just bought cause it looks good or they like it. I've bought ferrari merch before just because it looks good. And I am not a ferrari fan at all
I would offer to send skin some mclaren merch but all of mine is well worn and if i buy anything new its for me, sorry skin Can i just add, please stop calling yourself an English man with that opinion of us, the aussies can keep you, just joking but be more patriotic bro, there is sports i have no interest in but watch if England are playing
Such a handsome line up 😂
given whatsapp is owned by meta who also own facebook, it would be hilarious if the car got hacked like a facebook account, and did the entire circuit backwards.... (i know it will never happen though)
Tf? Whatsapp has above 2.5 billion user account world wide. What could they possibly achieve by sponsoring mercedes benz?
Im the half people
make it 5 people
Should play the whatsapp car song
Here in the US in amateur racing, like SCCA, the white flag is used a lot because a tow truck might go out on track while the race is still going on. White flag is pretty common to make sure the race still goes on. Or if a car is super slow on track then the white flag is used.
I wonder what he would have thought of max and Lewis in 2021 and Lewis not winning a race since
I do love the F1 car drive by much better than the drag car at the start. Please use that for the intro. The drag car makes me cringe every time... And Disco, the most famous dodgy stop at that corner in Monaco in quali would have to be Schumacher...
Skin looks so impressed with jingles 😂😂😂😂😂
He loves them 👀
Mercedes was also in from the beginning. they just needed to take a brake because uhm... their country needed them? ;P Skin asked if there's more teams that are of importance that are no longer on the grid. There is a lot mate, one of my favorite is Matra. It was a french company that did space stuff said okay we've proven we can do hard space things now we will show it's easy to win motorsport. and they dominated a whole array of motorsports including F1. and then just stopped at some point. But watch brawn gp docu first Skin!
Why shouldnt he have won in 2008? He won it fair and square in Brazil
Dude in the hat sounds like he's just had 18 bongs 😂
The Alonso video was reference to when Seb announced his retirement from F1 when he raced for AMR. It was his first Instagram post after he never had any social media presence. I remember being in Hungary for the GP weekend, sitting in the hotel room with notifications on for his account when it dropped.
I have listened to every episode, and feel I can also be considered a comment leaver, so might I very politely suggest that the intro and outro about the laughs are rather adrift of the actual content, which is great, but far more informative than funny? Yes, there are definitely laughs, such as expecting Lethal to do anything in a timely manner (yes I watch Chocs) but I think that changing the way you are marketing the podcast might want a tweak to get more eyes and ears .
I love you guys. How are you all doing?
good show
You should do a segment where you do a short overview of a historic season, include major events and controversies, championship deciding mistakes or strokes of genius and any other important information around the season
Great episode lads, the tyre strategy talk can get quite deep especially when you start throwing in things like red flags allowing tyre changes "for free" and wet weather removing the two compound requirement. Definitely a complex topic to cover in such a short timeframe. I've always remembered the description that track surface abrasion is like running a pencil rubber over different grits of sandpaper and comparing how much of the rubber is removed by each grit. That tends to explain why there are some circuits you see a lot more tyre marble build-up off the racing line at some circuits over others. Some changes since last time out in China, a lot has happened in five years (non exhaustive list): Toro Rosso changed names to Alpha Tauri and now Visa Cashapp RB (but I refuse to call them that) Alfa Romeo are now Kick Sauber McLaren were racing with Renault engines and were... quite shit Aston Martin was Racing Point with the BWT Sponsorship and the pink cars Williams was still owned by the Williams family with Claire Williams as Team Principal Ricciardo has gone from Renault, to McLaren, to out of a seat, to Toro Rosso Gasly went from Red Bull, to being demoted to Toro Rosso and replaced by Albon, to now at Alpine Albon went from Toro Rosso, to replacing Gasly at Red Bull, to out of a seat being replaced by Perez, to Williams Perez has moved from Racing Point to Red Bull as Vettel replaced him in the change to Aston Martin Alonso went from out of the sport in 2019 (he went to WEC to race LMP1's), to Alpine in 2021 replacing Ricciardo after he moved to McLaren, to Aston Martin to replace Vettel The first season of Drive to Survive debuted in March on Netflix in the leadup to the 2019 season Prior to Chinese GP 2019, Max Verstappen only had five Formula 1 race wins in his career, as of April 12th 2024 after the Japanese GP he has 57
great ep once again fellas. nothing to critique this week................
Reckon that the crashes have indeed cost Williams millions, as this will be the second chassis they have had to send back to England.
And then Charlie the colocate fact-checker said the $2,000,000 cost :D
I think I need to support Haas, I was really convinced by that guy. What a great salesman
when this podcast goes huge I want everyone to know that I was here since the beginning great job guys, very entertaining and easy to understand, learning more and more about the f1 together with you thank you and keep going fools!
1) Max got 10 wins in a row last year. The DNF in Australia stopped him getting it again 2) Alonso got the equivalent of a drive-through penalty, hence 20s.
Yeah I actually said that in the fine print… 👀 Thanks for bringing the max thing up I didn’t actually realise that and I know it was equivalent to a DTP but they harder get given out during a race and had this happened 15 laps earlier I don’t think he would have gotten that harsh a penalty
Love the content. Hope the channel takes off. Dave the Brit who knows jack shit actually knows something! 😂😂😂
He’s not half bad, this is also Dave the Burt talk in third person and complimenting himself so probably don’t take what he says with any one of weight 😂
Because of his car and his non sportsmanship
So it was just the car not lewis ?
This Just-in, the car is 80% for every drivers performance 👀
Podcast moment
The foreshadowing during the brake fire talk was crazy in this one!😅
Mate watching this back after the weekend I was shocked how much I got right hahaha
Yay another podcast with people with know knowledge of the sport if you can’t tell me a current drivers name please talk about something else…. ORRRR go back to work
Holy Jesus, Mary and Joseph. You really missed the concept of the pod and just went straight to being an angry person. Skin is new to the sport and he is learning, also people get names wrong all the time. David is an avid f1 fan and has been watching since he was born as his farther and grandfather loved the sport. Also something you will absolutely love is that this is both of our full time jobs, we run a company that produces podcasts and this is our latest podcast to launch. So next time you come across content that you don’t like why don’t you just hold your opinions to yourself instead of being a nasty person.
Ironic to say ‘no knowledge’ and spell it ‘know knowledge’ while having a go at someone 🙄
That Haas Chap guy sounds really fuckin sexy
Oh he really is… 👀😳
😂😂😂😂
Another great episode lads, its great getting a newcomers learning journey from near the beginning of the adventure. A few things I picked up on: Red Bull owned a stake in Sauber from '95 to 2001, they remained sponsors from 2001 to 2005 after selling the stake and later went all in on the Jaguar buyout in 2005. McLaren for a short time ran Renault engines between Honda and Mercedes, 2018-'20 I think it was. GM owns Chevrolet/Cadillac who Andretti want to bring with them into F1. Ford are a separate entity from GM (GM used to own Holden for the long standing Ford vs Holden rivalry in V8 Supercars here in Australia) Let's not confuse Skin by introducing the Formula 1.5 championship just yet though. Make sure he's come to grips with having 10 teams before we talk about the championship within a championship where some are deliberately excluded for being too good.
You mentioned Eddie Jordan's team early on and said you didn't know what happened to them but later say they were taken over lol 😂😂😂😂. Love this channel. Hope it grows
As soon as I went through the teams later on I wanted to sap my past self because I realised right away the mistake I had made 😂
Would be nice if the podcast dropped sooner so we're not recapping 2 weeks ago
Trust me I am with you! Been a crazy start to the pod so we are just trying to get into the rythm of things, will be a lot more up to date with it from now, ep4, 5 and 6 will be up on UA-cam in the next few days and as from 7 we will Be live on time each week! Also the es are all live n Spotify, Apple Podcasts and all other platforms if you wonna listen to them
Silly idea...what about a quick preview before the race like really a 5 or 10 min thingy. Then maybe we don't need a full full video after. More work for you blokes but maybe things will be more topical? Also...I don't know what the fudge I'm talking about 😂
Safety Car causes the cars to bunch up on purpose, in order to give track marshalls and other crews to clean up debris/cars/barriers from the crash. it gives them a larger time with no cars driving by to clean up, as opposed to constantly having cars driving past them at the gaps that they had during the race. Virtual safety car keeps those gaps and are used when a large cleanup is not necessary, like when a car breaks down and is able to make it close to an opening so marshalls just have to push the car back behind the barriers and dont have to go onto the actual track to clean anything up
I want to cut out a circuit on the CNC at work and send it to you to hang behind you, what track would you choose? I will talk to the boss about it, he is a Chocs fan and an F1 fan so im sure he will let me do it for you, i am doing a nurburgring for my bedroom wall, plenty of room in the middle for a track or 2
Oh the Melbourne trac would be the dream my man! Drop us a dm on instagram 👊
Yes boys, my 2 favourite Chocs and my favourite sport combine, I can fully relate to daves introduction to motorsport, very much like mine, dad was a mechanic and had motorsport on the tv all the time or we were at a race track or off roading site, kinda helps being prety much right inbetween silverstone and Donnington park with mallory park not too far and rockingham speedway was being built in the next town, i expect a reply in the next 3 - 5 business years, you should check out Lollipopman F1 comics, funniest F1 related animation out there, I'm a huge McLaren fan but good to see a williams fan, you have doubled their fanbase
Bro I want to watch but man ppl are in a different league. I’m 4+ years in and I wanna talk about more F1 than F1 101. You seem interesting, maybe you and I can talk about F1, but the format of this pod is weird. Much luck, here’s a follow and thumbs up.
Lads have a podcast on f1 and one of them has to be shown eau rouge & radillion😂
I know it’s mental that we have a podcast where one of our hosts openly doesn’t know anything about f1 and is learning on the go. Real hard concept to grasp hey 😉
Whi thought it was a good idea to post this clip??
UA-cam has this great feature where if you look to the bottom of the reel it shows you who uploaded each clip. Not sure that’s what you wanted to know but it’s definitely the help you need 👍
I think his point is why would you post something that makes you look so so so uninformed, it's embarrassing and sort of proof that just because you can record a conversation doesn't mean it should be a podcast
