This seen made me angry n cry in the new version..its a scene thats meant to be a blend of upsetting but funny ..but in that version they made it tragic.this version is the best ever..perfection.

Man if Rachel is what Marilla considers a friend, she needs new friends. I know this is my modern sensibilities talking, but imagine coming over, uninvited, to your "friend's" house, and doing nothing but berating a child they've taken under their wing for their looks. You are being a bad guest, a horrible example of an adult, and you deserve everything that comes your way. This is why boomers thing they deserve respect when they have done nothing to earn it :P

The "Good bye... Rachel" at 2:20 and the eye roll at 9:01 by Colleen Dewhurst as Marilla is some of the acting and lines as to why this film has so much character and talent and the definitive Anne of Green Gables for me - The subtle humor and exchanges that takes place between Anne and Marilla through the series are quite hilarious.
