Honey, THANK-YOU for taking the time, and, going SLOWLY through how to do the "slip-stitch! Everyone I've watched blows right over it, or, speaks the process WAY TOO quickly and doesn't really show how to do it!😵🥺 I'm a guy of 58 years, left handed-crocheting left handedly-backwards left to right for 53 years now. I stopped asking for help because of the "look" I get, when an instructor sees me crocheting-like I'm a 3 headed circus side show freak! It still hurts when I get that "look" from people who are just watching me do the craftwork. Doug🧶

Hi. You say put the first stitch in the middle of the 3 cluster of the previous round. The thing is I looked at this ten times and I don’t see you skip the first stitch. Do you skip the first Stitch ? I wish you world just say this. If I have 3 st in the previous row. Then tbe middle is after the very first of tbe 3 cluster. I don’t see you skipping any stitches? I skipped a st ti get right in the kiddie abd I ran one at short at the end ? Remover I did 2Sc second chain fro The hook. ? So the only way I end with 2 chains in the second d cabin from the hook was to nit skip a stitch at the peak. Thanks I sure hope you clarify.

Some use 11 and 2. I don’t get the difference. It if it just be a odd number ? You used 13 and 2. I went to Yarn council to actually understand how to calculate the chain. I think it’s important to Understand what’s going on here So. For the V. That’s 2 sides. You need equal chain Let say 5. Chains. And of course 5 to come down 5x2 =10 I Chain for a increase the peak. (3 st in one is still 1. 3 chain for the decrease. The valley So you skip 2. And go in the 3rd. 3 chains. If you decrease still the same. Then your chain Well the chain depends on the stitch. SC, HDC , or DC. use the correct turning chain fir the height of the stitch. SC = 1 chain. HDC =1 or 2 chain etc Finally the multiples got how many repeats for the width. Where V is the chevron. The chain is V = 5x2 plus I for peak 3 fir the valley Plus repeats abs turn chain. V =5•2+1+3= =10+4 =14. 14 x ( how many rep. Say 2 14•2 28 Now your chain 29. Do You should chain 29 This will give you 2 chevrons. This is the math behind the stitch.

Three double crochet in the same stitch is not called a cluster. At first I kept getting confused and I had to watch it over a couple of times to see that you weren't actually doing a cluster. A cluster is a whole different stitch than what you are doing here.

It was perfectly flat. 😎 The next is kind of looking like a flat bowl 😁😂🤭 I tried changing the hook. Its still curling. Tried doing it all over. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Thank you for this tutorial. 😊🙏🏻💖💖

@@createcrochet2940 So to finish it off do you just stop and tie off the end when you reach the length you want? Or should you finish off with a single crochet or chain to be even with the other end? Sorry if my questions are dumb, I'm a beginner! 😅
