I have only one fontaine deck, the original black fontaine, bought in 2015. Back then I appreciated the back and the thin borders, but they were heavy as fuck. They are slippery too, not a huge fan of these cards. Now I know that that black og deck is pretty rare and some collectionist shit, but fontaine never was special in my opinion. Even so, it's the deck I used on my last exhibition
@@pacho6821 these are somehow heavier. There was a great era of Fontaine where they put out some really cool cards that felt amazing as well.
I honestly don't like 90% of cards from Art of Play or Fontaine and the cards from Daniel Madison are such a f'ing ripoff. I don't like any of those "Damn Good Cards" from Dan &Dave.
@@haloaflame8164 let it all out brother
Fontaine going out sad.
What will they think of next 🤯
damn you're underrated asf dude.....amazing skill but a tip from me to become more successful is better editing and faster hand you know.....so they can't see whats happening.....
@@rippyrip good cardistry is not always about speed. And if I can say so myself I’m not sure what else you would be looking for editing wise, It’s a simple video showcasing the deck and the movements, I don’t think the editing needs to be complicated. For videos like this I think less is more.
@@rippyrip if you can’t see what’s happening there’s no point in showing 🙌 Cardistry is about seeing
@@Jakejarviscards no not like that bro....i didn't mean it like that....i mean a little better editing could make your vid blow up
@@Jakejarviscards i mean smoother you know.....like smoother hand movement would make the video more interesting
Im wondering if they just got a bunch of misprints and decided to sell them anyway.
Believe it or not these were intentional
Oh cool a couple NOC decks.
Zach heard Pandrea was gonna retire, so he made his own NOCs 💀
“Yeah you can copy my homework but don’t make it obvious”
'fontaine is cooked' So it's great? That kinda conflicts with the tombstone image. After all when you say to let someone cook, it's because they could be onto something good, and cooked food is a good thing, it's both delicious and what has allowed us to thrive as a species, uncooked is very often dangerous. Cooked basically means for something to be at its best potential.
@camuselding2148 no way u copy pasted this exact comment from reddit 💀
Bro didn't read my username 😢

@ I’m actually losing my mind right now
I won't lie, i completely forgot i'd even ordered these. I mean this happens all the time with fontaine. I remember it happened with those yellow smiley decks back in the days
@@EVINwithaK a similar thing happened with the Sesame Street drop. Except when those were late we all got an email saying so sorry these are late all pre order packages will include a free emerald Fontaine as an apology. Zach doesn’t even bother with an email anymore and just throws in a random deck into the package.
That’s haram استغفرالله
@@ZXY_TWIG12 let me know what god says
There is nothing Fontaine can do to remedy its disgusting & disgraceful customer service. It now parallels the pathetic shit cancellation we received from AnyoneWW. I'll have a huge bonfire once the weather chills a bit.

Good review ❤
Thanks!
Last display was awesome Quick but expanded🔥👌🏼
It’s a pretty simple display that I started doing a few years ago, might make a tutorial for it 🤙
@@Jakejarviscards great🔥
linen and smooth, which is the best for begginer 🙏😗
@@LuaSzeJie honestly would recommend linen. Most decks use linen finish so it’s more of the standard, smooth is a fun option to switch it up every once and a while but if you’re learning the basics I’d say linen.
I'm taking 2 of them thanks to your review 👊🔥
@@magicmikalash hell yeah
Where should I look to find cool unique decks? It seems I only ever find theory 11. Magic shops? Comic stores?
@@alexalvarado6005 The top brands in cardistry and custom decks Id say are: Missing, Anyone, Fontaine, Yangaanyauhei, Dealersgrip, Komorebi, Goos, Gordon, and Lotusinhand. You can find many decks from most of these brand on my channel through my reviews. The best way to get these decks id say is to follow them on Instagram and be ready for their latest drops. All these decks are limited and can sell for much higher prices on the second hand market, so your best bet of getting them at a good price is directly from the brand when they drop them on their website. Altho there are good resale sites such as Socalplayingcards and XDecks, they tend to have reasonable prices depending on the rarity of the deck and will also do sales. So sometimes you can pick up a rare out of print deck for close to retail value if you’re lucky.
@@Jakejarviscards hell yeah, very thoughtful response.
These are so beautiful! ✨🦋
The flys are the best line in ygh
Wish he would just go back to printing with uspcc the quality was so much wjpc isn’t bad but like you said any cheaper uspcc deck like arch angels outshines it in performance easily
@@mar4626 The golden age of cards is sadly over for small cardistry brands. It’s uspc’s fault for raising the print minimum in an already dwindling market. Small brands can’t put out 2500 print runs for every deck drop, and in this economy everyones cutting back on spending, especially with how many custom decks are out there right now.
So the instructions under the exclamation mark are essentially what I told linus and then he pretty much went from there. The plan is to do a couple of other artist collabs and there will be a similar card with each artist’s instructions and a different color on the exclamation point. I think its pretty cool, at least a little bit cooler to me than just like manufacturing details. Also the general inspiration was the original awful franks and the stretched look of the faces. I wanted that same effect for the frank character itself along with the landscape pips. I really like any kind of art on court cards/ anything other than recolors of standard courts, so I asked linus if he could make a dozen more “frank-esque” characters and he knocked it out of the park on those faces imo. I wanted a similar vibe to decks like budgie and the face oka collab. I dont think anyone was asking about this but I just wanted to share lol
@@jacobmiller8878 ah gotcha, I didn’t mind the text too much. Just first impression I was kinda like why is this here? But with context that makes much more sense lol

I dunno what or why, but the visuals alone have me intrigued...
I am unaware of this hobby. Could you humor me regarding the cards and their purpose(s)?

Ngl, watching ur vids has become an integral part of my week now haha really appreciate all the effort and time you put into these amazing, in-depth reviews! 👏🏾👏🏾
@@frankbusta aw man, thank you so much. I’ve been putting a lot of effort in lately and it’s really nice to hear someone appreciate that. I’m glad you enjoy my videos, thanks for watching and the support!
Hmmm… you don’t like how they handle and are disappointed with them but they still get a 7. Same with your aesthetic score. Your reviews are far too generous!
@@yorickrahman like I said in my review I’ve still handled worse, even on this channel. Same with the aesthetics, there were some things that I liked about it but I felt they could have done more. A 7 in my opinion isn’t a stellar grade to get, its just barley on the good side. Overall this deck has its moments and qualities that I like, but still has room to improve.
Would be good to have a half deck fan as well in your reviews.
I hate the back design. From far, it looks like the deck was dipped in poop.
@@aronquemarr7434 you’ve got some interesting looking poop there my friend
the back is insanely cool and well executed. But the faces are as great to me. I love the minimalist ye original design, and it goes well with the back.
@@saihtama I just found them a bit busy looking because of the fact that they bleed all the way to the edges, as well as the fact that it’s hard to identify individual cards, they all kinda morph into one when doing cardistry, and I thought with a back design like this the faces could have benefited from being less busy and the back design would have shined even more.
@@Jakejarviscards maybe my definition of minimalism isnt good here. The fact they filled the symbols to count is what i think cool and what you don't like! hehe
Interesting. This is my current daily driver deck that sits next to my computer. I’ve been using it every day for a few weeks now and really like the card stock. They’re not super slippery, so not great for fans, but for packet cutting they’ve been nice, and that’s what I mostly do. One thing I’ll give them is that they don’t accordion. They want to stay in a block without any gaps in the deck, even if your hands have a bit of moisture to them one day. I haven’t needed a card clip at all.
Okay, I see your clumpy complaint 😂 but I’ve also been using mine daily for a few weeks, so that may be a large contributor too.
@@CorigamiC this is just one of those decks that just felt kinda icky in my hands, it’s hard to even explain, just naturally my hands didn’t vibe with it. So I think it’s purely personal preference. They’re kind of sandy, but even some of the chalky decks from china I’ve gotten haven’t bothered me as much. It was harder for me to pinpoint just exactly what I didn’t like about the feeling of these, I just knew I wasn’t super pumped about them lol
@@CorigamiCand I will say someone dmed me saying they hated how they felt as well before I made this review but I was optimistic because like I said in my video I usually love the feel of decks made in Taiwan, I basically didn’t even believe them lol overall still not the worst handling deck, just not super stoked about them.
