Session on A7's
First time session on A7s. Shake down in June and day before this on old tires to sort out mechanical and cooling issues. This session was first session pushing the car a little bit. Car easily has 3 more seconds in it....probably with a different driver.

Getting passed by an equally powered car
Переглядів 456 років тому
This is what it looks like when a car that is classed at a 9:1 power car, same as mine, passes you on the straight at Daytona like you are towing a boat anchor from the USS Nimitz. Now maybe they used the Gravitational field of Jupiter to class their 9:1 car, the rest of the field used planet Earth.

Its the AIM Smarty Cam. it overlays and syncs the data from your logger. Setup how and what you wants and its all done for you. Indy Cars use these now and ive seen them in WEC and IMSA as well
what software is that overlay the data on video?
Too much rear brake bias. As you were braking harder you were getting too much weight transfer for where it was set.
It's pretty nice you picked up on that. Since this video we (buddy of mine that has the same car) have played with setups and spring packages. We found the front was WAY under sprung causing the nose to dive, unload the rear to where the shocks would fully extend causing excessive hop under hard braking. I also didn't have enough droop in the rear. Since that video, we have the car dialed in and it brakes MUCH better now. The car in spec form does not have properly balanced wheel rates with the stock spring package given the front and rear motion ratios. That's been fixed.
Great pass on the Mustang in the Carousel!
I'm sure real life RWR's have audio, yours is silent?
Real life RWR are in fully functional cockpits with an audio signal. The CRT itself has no audio component to it, its simply a display screen.
I see. Do you have the RWR threat sounds used in the real life aircraft?
The software used does.
Which software is this? I'm looking to find the real RWR sounds myself.
The software is Falcon 4.0
Any news ...?
+Dee-Jay : Actually, yes. We've (meaning others more knowledgeable than me) have come to the conclusion that the original hardware just doesn't have enough power to receive the data and drive the display. The analog part of the circuit is fine but the digital needs work. So we are floating ideas to see which would work best.
Thank you!
I short shift quite a bit so as to not stress the engine. Plus, it was really hot that day and so I kept it in third and fourth most of the time.
Maybe its just the recording but good time and it sounds like your engine is not at high RPM and hardly working!
Thanks. I have some vids before the hood and the sound was pretty much the same. The exhaust is a couple of straight pipe race mufflers (really more like resonators) with extension tips.
Your Z sounds BAaAaAaAaAaAaD!!! I wonder if that extractor hood allows more noise?
Nice, smooth driving. And that track looks like a blast! Thanks for posting.
The car is pretty dialed in. I do have a 67 inch APR wing in the back set at a pretty low AOA. I have a custom made nose piece with front splitter, coil overs, spherical bearing, heavy rate sways and drop spindles. This was my first time in Red and I've been running MSRC for over 2 years now so I am pretty familiar with the track. Now take me down to TWS and I would get passed like I'm standing still. I haven' broke 2 minutes down there yet.
Yeah, Blue.
