    Thank you for the book review. You seem to mention that conundrum towards the end of the video. In your opinion (and having read his book), why did he return despite knowing, surely, that he would be killed, what do you think?

    • @annaofnorthgermany
      @annaofnorthgermany 2 дні тому

      @@erzsebetkovacs2527 thank you for your comment😊 I think on the one hand, he believed that Russian people wouldn't forgive him if he stayed abroad, and his image of the hero that the internet had created of him would have been ruined. On the other hand, and this is my assumption based on the book, he underestimated Putin. According to Navalny, he didn't believe that he would be arrested right at the airport till the very last moment although his colleagues believed otherwise and didn't have too many illusions on that matter. But of course, unfortunately, now we can only guess why he returned😔

    Girl, just get a job, you can't choose. Of course you can speak English, there are a million jobs that don't require you to speak German. You can still learn the language alongside a full-time job. My father fled here years ago because his life was in actual danger and he didn't even dare to live of of taxpayers' money. He didn't even get a paid for language course. So just go wash some dishes and stop complaining on the internet and to the people that took you in and are paying your rent, food and everything.

    • @annaofnorthgermany

      @@Lamalibuh I am washing the dishes already, thank you very much for your most valuable advice lol. And the biggest part of my German I learned fucking myself without tax payers' money. I think your dad would be very much ashamed of you leaving such comments on the internet (if he wasn't a nazi, of course)

    If you already speak some German don’t they make some kind of assessment test before you take the integration course?

    • @annaofnorthgermany
      @annaofnorthgermany 13 днів тому

      @@olenacactus3651 yes, they do😊 but their tests are not perfect, of course, because there's no listening, for example. Plus, when they pick a course for you, they are a bit tied by BAMF and Job Center because they rarely pay for the courses that are less than 20 hours per week. So, finding a proper course is a journey 😅

    I think more people would join the clergy, hangout in trees, and offer to improve the harvest if they thought a bunch of determined beautiful woman were going to roll up around until the spirits were pleased, the buzz from them wore off or they regain consciousness 🤪. Remember, history is the propaganda of the victor, folklore is the history of the people, reflective of the times they lived through which far exceed the whims of the day. There is definitely overlap in cultures. We in America grew up with Grimm's Fairy Tales and later Walt Disney but both, former in particular have origins in Eastern Europe, specifically Russia. The Grimm Brothers went there to look for stories. The 3 Little Bears comes to mind. A lot of these stories are to teach children to behave. Germany has Krampus. I've got Irish, Scottish, Germany and now according to Ancestry Pirate blood I mean Cornish(pirate accent). Instead of being an orange & green problem, on Halloween Night I will dress up and even play certain Bach pieces, and some orestrations depicting a witch's sabbath of course. Why not? It's suppose to be a day to remember the dead. In Bach's time they accused him of being in league with the devil because of the use of dual melodies. I'd say he was deeply spiritual as most of his 20 something kids didn't even reach adulthood. Some of my family lived not far from where he lived and were Lutherans. All cultures have or had superstitions. Never place a watch on its face, no new shoes on a table(bad luck dead were waked on tables), never rock an empty rocking chair etc. It's more about being mindful. Season of the witch has yet to begun. It's quite a happening at my haunted house.

So maybe you took the wrong courses or you live in a rural area that doesn't offer express courses? If you wanted to progress faster you could see in the next bigger city. Maybe you alsi didn't do it through VHS (Volkshoschule), but some private institiute?

By supporting Stalin, you neglect hundreds of people who became victims of his terror. The Second World War was won thanks to blood of soldiers, not thanks to Stalin. If I were you, I would be a bit ashamed to support Stalin openly on the Internet and blame people for supporting nazis if they say otherwise :)

      @@annaofnorthgermany There's this simple principle of logic called a ≠ a. Where two different things are not the same. It helps create distinctions and well developed definitions. Calling opposites the same is a mistake in logic. If they were the same they would not have fought, or been in opposition. You say "people" died. This is an _abstraction._ Which people died in the terror? The rich landowners? Ukrainian and other types of nationalists? Aristocrats? Tsarist officers? Black hundreds? Cadets? Common criminals? Left Sr's? Anarchists? Racists like Navalny? Show me a state which has never used terror, you cannot, but show me the different class character of state, and there you will find the difference in state. The Germans were similar to Russians in that both are human, yet their economic system and state was clearly different. Anyway, _which soldiers_ fought in the G.P.W? Not _any old soldiers,_ but the red army did, the NKVD, the _workers and peasants_ did, for which Stalin's writings-advice guided the organization of production.

    also russia is far less violent and much safer place than germany now. there are far less drunk fights there . since you seem averse to direct experience of any kind, you are free to watch unedited walking videos from present day( not 90s ) russia from moscow to small towns and villages . they are far from "creepy", unlike present cities of germany. as for political violence . well germany is supporting the greatest "war" crime going on at present in "holy land" just as they supported same crime in in 1940s and in namibia before that . germany is addicted to that crime. btw sostoevsky was never "banned " in ussr, "demons" and "notes of underground" had only academic editions for a time. that was all.

    dostoevsky didn't own serfs , his father did. but he died when dostoeveky was in early 20s and estate was sold. and his father who was a doctor and got his nobility and right to own serfs through merit in service. and he bought the small estate with serfs as a status symbol . dostoevsky in mid and late 20s in 1840s was part of a revolutionary circle that was aiming to free serfs . he wsa arrested and after a mock execution he was sent to hard labor in siberia for 4 years and then was made to serve as a private soldier in army for 5 years also in siberia . your opening qoute is from roskilnikov ion crime and punishment

    If you wanna buy alot of books you should totally visit hamburg, in the local libraries of Hamburg they sell used books for 1€, they aint in the best condition but you can find alot of books, some interesting and some not, for only 1€ per book!!! The "Zentral Bibliothek" near the central trainstation got alot of books. I bought like only maybe 6 books so far but I plan to just buy random books and suprise myself. And if I dont like it I only spend 1€ and can gift it someone I know who maybe will like it without having to think about losing a fortune. But note: alot of books are weird(this is my opinion tho and I judged alot of them by the cover...)
