4Runner UCA Bushing Replacement
This is not a recommended way to replace your bushings but it worked for me. Using a cutoff wheel can easily gouge your control arm. I wasn’t too worried about it since I used to cut and grind stuff for a living. Please feel free to ask any questions in the comment section. Perform these repairs at your own risk. Enjoy!

4Runner LCA bushing replacement

Quick demonstration on how I removed and replaced my LCA bushings. Tip on using the bottle jack, don’t try to force the bushings out without applying heat. Applying heat reduces the chances of destroying your lower control arms. Tip #2, if you use a 20 ton press to install your bushings keep an eye on the metal outer piece of the bushing that rests on the control arm. You want to stop pressing ...

Big thank you to Timmy the tool man for his very informative and helpful video! Also big thank you to PhoRunner for his helpful list of parts and part numbers! If I didn’t come across his video I wouldn’t of known to buy the stud kit for the hub! Thanks guys! In this video I show how I restore my rusted steering knuckle, swap automatic hubs for manual hubs, and install my upper ball joint. Feel...
Nice work! Do you have the list of parts you'd share? Thanks
Would the method you used for the 4Runner LCA bushing replacement work on the UCA?
No since you can’t fit a bottle Jack in the uca. My method of cutting slits on the bushing sleeve flange is not the best way because you can cut into the uca if you’re not careful. Check out Timmy the tool man on UA-cam he has a different way of doing it using a bearing splitter to bend out the flange of the bushing sleeve.
Would the method you used for the 4Runner here to remove the LCA bushing work on the UCA?
Good job
Thank you!
