How to make Delicious Herb Infused Butter
When i first thought about making butter i thought it was a daunting experience. It ended up being the easiest thing to make, all you need is heavy cream, salt and a whisk, it takes minutes to make and the result is instant. It is difficult to get wrong and so so easy to modify, from herb infused to chilli infused. The diverse taste is endless.
I hope you find this video helpful. Drop a comment and let me know how you get on.
Ingredients:
* 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream, chilled
* Salt (optional)
* Fresh herbs (optional, for infused butter)
Instructions:
1. Pour the Cream:Start with cold, heavy cream. Pour it into a large mixing bowl to allow space for splashing as you whisk.
2. Whisk Vigorously:Using a hand whisk, start whipping the cream. It will first turn into whipped cream, so keep going. After about 5-10 minutes of vigorous whisking, you’ll notice the cream starts to thicken and eventually separate.
3. Watch for Separation:Keep whisking until you see the buttermilk separate from the butter solids. The mixture will look clumpy, and there will be a liquid (buttermilk) in the bowl. This means you’re ready to move to the next step!
4. Strain the Buttermilk:Pour the mixture into a strainer or cheesecloth to separate the solid butter from the liquid buttermilk. You can save the buttermilk for baking or cooking.
5. Rinse the Butter:Rinse the butter under cold water to remove any remaining buttermilk, which helps keep the butter fresh longer. Gently knead the butter with a spoon or your hands while rinsing to get rid of all the liquid.
6. Add Salt or Herbs (Optional):If you’d like salted or herb-infused butter, mix in a pinch of salt or finely chopped herbs like rosemary, thyme, or basil.
7. Store and Enjoy:Place your butter in a container, cover, and store it in the refrigerator. It should last about a week.
Pro Tip:
Whisking by hand can be tiring, so take breaks if needed. The end result will be worth it!
This hand-whisk method gives you deliciously fresh butter with just a bit of effort. Enjoy!

This really inspired me to appreciate every little thing. Thank you! Ps I love the idea of the cats plotting and planning! 😂
Glad you enjoyed it! Both cats have been making plans for months now :)
How did you get your basil to be insect resistant? Mine just wither away. ❤ the salad
Not sure actually, my basil herbs tend to do quite well. My garden is organic and I don’t use insecticides or anything artificial
The description of the leaf 😍😍😍
Thank you

Never heard of that in france 😁 But basil is typical of italian recipe, so probably more italian than french Bonjour and ciao !
Indeed the salad is more Italian than French as it originated on the Island of Capri. I ate it for the first time in Paris and has always associated it with France ever since. 🥰
@intheeveryday ooooh ! That's why ! The most common are like Caesar or '' Niçoise '' from the town of Nice, with tuna ! Anyway, bon appétit !
