Welcome to our UA-cam Channel - "The W-B's" Travel Diary!
We are Paul & Victoria, a married couple from London England. We have been together for 25 years (since Victoria was 17!) and have two fabulous grown-up daughters. Due to our surname, we are known as “The W-B's", hence "The W-B's" Travel Diary.
We created this UA-cam channel after Paul had some very significant health problems, so that we could keep a diary of our travels together. We upload travel vlogs and review luxury hotels, airport lounges, beach clubs and more. Pretty much anything to do with luxury travel!
In October 2023 we purchased a 5 bedroom house in Andalusia, Spain to renovate and restore and we will be sharing the restoration journey in a series of videos. We hope you enjoy them!

Hi all, We travelled to Marrakech for a long weekend in late August 2024. This was our first trip to Marrakech and it certainly won't be our last. What a magical place. 36 HOURS IN MALLORCA | EUROS 2024 |SPAIN vs ENGLAND

Welcome back to our channel. In this latest Vlog we embarked on a 36 hour trip to Palma, Mallorca, Spain to watch the England Vs Spain Euro 2024 final. Whilst waiting for our flight back on the Monday we decided to take a tour around our favourite ports and towns on the North West of the Island. we stayied in this hotel in march on arriving the TV was broke the sink plug was broke and all week it rained we asked the hotel 4 times to put the heating on and they didnt. i had to wear my jeans and bobble hat in bed. instead of them putting the heating on we was offered extra blankets ... my mum is 84 years old and it wasnt plesant for her the cold.... in the breakfast and dinner room there is a microwave to heat your food up as there is no hot plates.. we had to phone down almost every day for our room to be cleaned.... it was not a plesant stay i doubt we will stay in this hotel again they are just out to give you as less as possible to get profit ,, used to be able to control the heating in the room from the thermostat but now they put no heating on at all ,, in the winter they put heating on at 3am in the morning when it should be on all night.....
@@DavesMonitor Oh no, it sounds like you had a really bad experience. It’s always so disappointing when a holiday doesn’t live up to expectations. We’ve definitely had a few bad experiences over the years. Sorry to hear this and we hope your future trips are much better! Do you have any other holidays planned?

@@gggonzalez5966 Well you obviously have to pay for admission but once you’re in everything is then free. We are priority pass members so even our admission is complimentary.

hallo, great video! is this hotel good for solo travel, 3 days during christmas, without level option? I always wanted see Spanish Christmas and this year i can do it but i dont know or Melia is ok for me, i would like to also take a little bit rest :) thx in advance

Sorry but I don’t know, we didn’t have any pints. We found the hotel and resort to be very reasonable overall. 👍

drinks in the hotel are well over priced 1 or 2 euros more than outside the hotel for drinks
@@DavesMonitor we found the drinks reasonable for a hotel bar, but then we are from London so everywhere seems reasonable to us I think! Lol 😂

I don't think I would want to stay there. I travel alone, and at 72 I don't think I would like to have to deal with this craziness and "deception".

@@TheWBsTravelDiary Maybe I used a poor choice of words, but I just meant I would find it hard to stand in the long queue, the chaos you described, paying for a sea view and not really getting much of one, the dirty sunbeds, having to speak to the manager to be able to sit at a table and eat, and being told they are reserved, and then given only one hour to sit at that table, and still seeing all those tables with no one sitting at them. etc. I can't stand up anymore for long periods of time. Just last year, I stayed in twelve different hotels in the UK, and I guess they all spoiled me.. They were all better than perfect. You loved my comment on the video you made about the Sofitel Hotel. I am normally a very patient and accepting and appreciative type of person. You are much younger than I am, and you aren't travelling alone, so I wouldn't expect you to understand totally how it is for older people who have trouble standing. Like I said, the hotels in the UK last year spoiled me. No big deal ..... never mind.

Hey guys nice vid! We are coming to the Taj in a few weeks and doing half board as well. Does this mean we can choose where we have dinner? As we thought maybe it was just the buffet.......

We stayed there just after its refurb and enjoyed our stay. Lovely staff and we really enjoyed the food. The only thing that spoils this hotel for us; especially at the higher rates you pay, is the lack of rooms with balconies. We were lucky to be moved to one but our friends were stuck in a smaller room at the back of the hotel. Imo they should try to build more balconies, especially at the front as it’s an expensive hotel. Not much fun if you just wanted to be able to sit on your balcony to eat and drink whilst enjoying the sea view.
@@hos65 We were lucky as we had a balcony room which was a large terrace, but we definitely felt the rooms could do with being a bit bigger!

I stayed here just a few days before you filmed this, and I loved it too! Twice in April of 2023, one of those times for two nights to adjust to UK time. I also loved their breakfasts ..... so much delicious food! ❤❤❤

can anyone tell me does the MFC adult s only pool have easy access steps into the water, not just the rung ladders.
Hi Susan, I can’t be sure but I don’t remember it having easy access steps. If I remember correctly it was a ladder.

We're the restaurants expensive at the taj exoitica
We were half board, however we wouldn’t recommend going half board as we had to pay supplements for quite a lot of food. That meant it wasn’t a good option. Paying for the food alone wasn’t expensive but half board plus the supplement led to it not being good value. Hope that’s helpful!
