I remember Dick Allen and saw him play in person. I was 13 in 1964. His shoulders were big and broad and his legs were straight and thin. He stood straight up in the batter's box and his swing was like a cobra strike, sudden and lightning-quick. The ball went further than any hit by any other player. I saw a long home run hit by him one night and I will never forget it. I saw Willie Mays hit a homer at Connie Mack Stadium and I saw Hank Aaron hit one. Mays's homer was dramatic and Aaron's an artistic hook around the left field foul pole but Allen's were titanic and obviously gone before the ball cleared the infield. Unforgettable. 550-foot homers hit on a warm summer night in the North Philly air cut through the cigarette smoke wafting upwards in the the bright lights of the infield.

If fans aren't allowed to attend the games, then punting is viable option. HOWEVER, if fan attendance is allowed there's no excuse for punting the 2021 season. We've punted almost every season since 2013. I'm tired of it. I'm tired of mediocrity. There's no excuse for such underachievement in an organization based in one of the biggest markets in the league.

Trevor Dauber isn't that good. Career ERA of 3.90 with a little better than a .500 record. Nothing to write home about. If we can get him at a bargain price, that might be a good accusition but not premium prices simply based on an abbreviated season.

This is a very informative show.I wish I had started watching it from the start of 2015 season.Phillies front office have done a very good job of stockpiling major league ready pitchers via trades.I will watch Phillies Nation every week from the start of Spring Training.Kudos to the hosts too.

I feel bad for the Phillies playing Ryan h this long and now its even rubbing down the rest of the line up, trade them key players or sit them down!

With Ryan Howard's decline, it's quite sad to see how he can't bounce back. With one harsh injury, everything can go like that. God I hope Ryan starts to bounce back because I don't see him doing any better on any other team. With the Phillies, it's usually a mental situation for him. In my thoughts, Ryan would do better in Philly than every single other team because he's been the king of the Phillies for so long. And to be traded and knowing that you're not as good as you were, that's what would hit me the most mentally.

Ok... this was likely a wet microburst if you want to give it a name. There was no tornado here, but I was looking for one. It sure looked like it though. Straight-line winds, folks. The wind gust recorded one mile SW at Phila. Intl was 75 mph, which makes this a significant severe storm. That is a memory I'll have forever!

To be honest? I want Howard gone. Now. Too much money for less and less production. What I reall hope happens? Howard takes all of this, says 'to hell with this, I'm going to show them all up,' and has a great year.
