Helpful tips but too long
Clever, thanks for Sharing this great tip. Beats trying to use the end of your finger Lol.
Hi Laura. I’m glad you found it helpful. A toothpick also works well but I love being able to grab something that is always handy - scraps from my bin! Thanks for watching & commenting.
Love the tip about the scrap paper 👍
Hi Diana. I’m glad you found it helpful. Thanks for watching & commenting
What a simple but great tip!
I’m glad you found it helpful Barbara. Sometimes the simplest tips are life savers! Thanks for watching & commenting. 😊

Hi Yvonne. Glad you’re finding them helpful. Thanks for watching & commenting. 😊
Showed me nothing new….
Glad you’re already using these tips. Thanks for watching & commenting. 😊
What is baking paper? I've never heard of that.
Hi Rita. In Australia we call it baking paper. I’ve had other comments on here that in the US it’s called parchment paper - I hope that’s helpful. Thanks for watching & commenting.
I don’t throw my die down but I do hit the edge of the die on a hard surface (like edge of cardboard box or book) to release the paper and it usually works on the first try. Tfs
Hi. Yes I do that sometimes too. Thanks for watching & commenting. 😊
Thank you for the great tips❤
My pleasure. Thanks for watching & commenting Jeannie
Love the video and the great tips. Was wondering, the second (larger die) is really beautiful - what is the name of it?
Hi Diane. Thanks for watching & commenting. It’s a Stampin’ Up! die from the Thoughtful Wishes set. Here’s a link if you want to view it in my online shop (Australia): www.stampinup.com.au/products/thoughtful-wishes-bundle-english?demoid=4012818
Great video. I’ve been known to throw the dies on the floor to release the paper cut from the die.
Thanks for watching & commenting.
Thanks for the tips.
Hi Ruth. I hope they were helpful. Thanks for watching & commenting. 😊
Dryer sheets works as well. Smells nice too.
Thanks for watching & commenting Marlene. 😊
For dies that are difficult to get out of the die i use blu tack. I live in England so dont know what you have. Its a way of putting up posters without permanent adhesive x
Another great idea thanks Monica - yep we have BluTac here. Thanks for watching & commenting. ☺
I must try that! Thx
My pleasure@@JennyMcCormac - I’m glad you found it helpful. Thanks for watching & commenting
I use the throwing the die onto a hard surface to release the cardstock technique too. I find it works best if the die is facing down and I think that's when yours released because it wasn't working cardstock down. It's messy but takes less time to clean up than poke every little bit out. If there are still pieces stuck I flick the card with my fingers and this helps to get the stubborn pieces out ❤
Thanks Gina - I have noticed that too! thanks for watching & commenting. 😊
Thanks for the great tips, we have the same machine and pokey tool😊, I tried folded tissue, that worked but I like the idea of parchment paper better, and the results lovely, when I've thrown my dies down it's only worked twice! X
Hi Jackie. I love my Stampin’ Up! SCEM machines (big & mini one)!! Heaps better than my old Big Shot. Another lady - Gina - also commented that she finds it works better to throw with the die is facing down rather than cardstock so maybe try that.😉 Thanks for watching & commenting. 😊
I noticed the glue dots are thick enough to show under the added paper. I think I will try this idea (which is ingenious) with temporary tape runner in a couple of places. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Priscilla - glad it was helpful for you. Yes, depends on the thickness of what you’re adhering - with my embossed cardstock it was not an issue but any temp adhesive will work great. Even if it’s perm. adhesive (non-liquid), as long as you take off some of the tackiness it’ll work great. Thanks for watching & commenting. 😊
Your tips are wonderful! Thanks so very much.
I’m so glad they are helpful Linda. Thanks for watching & commenting. 😊
ALL great tips. Thanks!
My pleasure. Thanks for watching & commenting. ☺
❤the baking paper idea.
So glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching & commenting. 😊
Is baking paper the same as parchment paper?
Hi. I’ve heard from others that our baking paper is indeed like your parchment paper. Thanks for watching & for your question.
I didn't know the clunk was a bad thing. Thanks for the tip!
I’m glad you found it helpful Tracy. Thanks for watching & commenting.
Very helpful! Thanks!
My pleasure Renee. Thanks for commenting.
I like the “baking paper “idea..by baking paper do you mean parchment or wax paper ..that’s the on,y paper I’m familiar with
Hi Syah. Thanks for watching & commenting. I understand our baking paper is same as parchment paper. Definitely don’t use wax paper as it will leave a build up on your dies. 😉
Baking paper I my country is regarded as silicone paper. I have found dryer sheets much more successful
@@victoriousvalentine9779 ..interesting ..I’ll try both !
I started turning die sandwich upside down and rotating and flipping, it keeps cutting plate flat! You can also see if it completely cut out image before removing. Great tip!
Hi Cathey. Thanks for watching & commenting. Yes, it’s a great thing to do for all those reasons.
Very helpful. Thank you
Thanks Franclin - glad it was helpful.
Thank you for the tips
My pleasure. Thanks for watching & commenting. ☺
Thank you. A cocktail stick is also good for really tiny areas.
Thanks for watching & your comment Penny. Yes, I’ve also used a toothpick when I’ve had them handy! My scrap cardstock is usually easier to reach for quickly lol.
Thank you so much you covered all my problems xxxx
My pleasure Daphne. I’m glad I could help. Thanks for watching & commenting.
Excellent... Ty
My pleasure. Thanks for watching & commenting.
Thanks for the tips I know they will help
My pleasure Tina. Thanks for watching & commenting
😊
Excellent!!!

Thanks for your helpful video. What did you use for the focal point of your card? So pretty!
Hi - thanks for watching & asking. I used a new pack of DSP (patterned paper) from Stampin’ Up! called Thoughtful Journey. Here’s a link if you want to see it but bear in mind my online shop is in Australian $$ 😉 Oh & the dies are from the same suite of products (same name). www.stampinup.com.au/products/thoughtful-journey-6-x-6-15-2-x-15-2-cm-designer-series-paper/?hostcode=WU6EWQ7E
Thanks for these tips. I agree about using a pokey tool to get the die cut out of the die. Sometimes they tear as well. Bmiaking paper is a great idea. New subscriber. Thanks for the tips ❤
My pleasure. Thanks for watching & commenting.
Just lately I have been using bubble wrap under my hard to cut dies WORKS every time got that tip from a friend who found it on a utube tutorial thank you for your tips although I know all of them it’s good to refresh one’s brain
Thanks for watching & for your comments. ☺️
I use bubble wrap as well. Works great.
Love the baking paper idea. But I think I would use vellum in some cases, then it’s a two-fer!!
Thanks for watching & your comments. My die-release paper I used is lovely & delicate to use as a two-for also.🥰 The point of baking paper / die release paper is that it’s non-stick which is why the die cut releases so easily. The vellum might end up being another layer you have to poke out of the die - but worth a try! 😉
What is baking paper ? Are you talking about parchment paper?
Hi Betty. In Australia baking paper is what we use as a non-stick paper for cooking/baking. Not sure what it’s called in other countries.
It is the same as parchment paper
In the USA we have waxed paper, which will also work. It’s different from parchment paper
Hi @@priscillabade614. Thanks for watching & commenting. Just be careful using wax paper - it leaves a film of wax on your dies which builds up on the cutting edge of your die which you don’t want. 😉 For that reason parchment/baking paper is a better choice.
A dryer sheet under the card stock works well too
Hi Helen - thanks for commenting.👍 I’ve heard that too. 😊
The angle idea is great. And the baking paper is a neat idea. The throwing one. Hmmmm.tfs😊
Hahaha yes, throwing can be problematic because it can bounce anywhere lol but it usually works for me after 1-2 ‘throws’ - not in this video though lol
THANK YOU - THANK YOU!
I’m glad you enjoyed it. ☺️
I love using Stampin’ Mist for all my cleaning of blocks, glass mat and scissors!! I’ve never used it for the blending brushes - but what a fantastic idea!!
It’s great stuff, isn’t it?! Glad you got a new way to use it Julia. 🥰
Love the baking paper technique!! AND the put the paper on the angel tip - I did not know that’s why it makes the speed bump noise!
Thanks Julia. Yes! The dreaded speed bump - we don’t want it. 😉
I love the idea of using the scrap paper!! Soooo clever!!
Thanks Julia.
I never knew this tip!! You are so clever!!
Rarely is anything new - I learned from someone else so pass it on! 🥰
Very detailed tip!! Amazing
Thanks so much for your feedback Julia - glad you like it. They key is still patience though lol.
Hey hey lovely lady 💖 wow! that is good value on that pack. Pretty cards, it is a great idea to challenge oneself on the 'meh' papers. I have to admit I have many papers that are in that 'meh' category that are still in the paper containers 😂 Might need to go back through a few and work on some. Question Linny, can we use watercolours on the Photopolymer stamp sets and the clear cling stamps? Great video. *Hi Harry*
Hi Kerry.😊 Thanks so much for watching, your lovely comments & question. I’ve replied to your question in a private message. 😊
