SIC ILL - Spring Yard Zone Remastered HD
Переглядів 150Рік тому
I've always had a soft spot for SIC ILL and his video game covers. I've always found the mixes to be pretty bad and usually the vocals are fighting with the music. I used some software to clean it up a little and make the vocals more prominent. For some reason the original video audio doesn't sync up with the audio used on the actual albums. Somehow it's a slightly different tempo. Because of t...

Fully automatic turntables are a NIGHTMARE to service and repair. They're very complex and the parts are often no longer available....
What does it do for 7“ 33 1/3 RPM records?
My turntable has a Biotracer arm. It has sensors and motors to move the arm horizontally and vertically. The tracking force and anti-skate are both controlled electronically. It plays warped records perfectly. The turntable also has the light tower to determine record size. I have a copy of "Abby Road" pressed on translucent apple green vinyl. I have to queue the record manually.
Could have said what brand?
The most "hi-fistic" turntables have no features on purpose, beucase it's just something that can break. It's not wrong to buy turntable with no features, it's everything about what you want. But yes, older is better.
More features more to break
IMHO, if you own legit high quality audio electronic and speakers AND you have collectible vinyl/new expensive vinyl, an automatic player, ANY of them no matter the brand, you will always be listening to your music through a veil of of electronic chatter produced by the automatic mechanism. Just the way it is. It sounds crazy but it's not. Of course if convenience is all that matters, why even waste your money on vinyl?
Oh dear, convenience over quality
There is nobody around that can fix auto record players, and no spares for them anyway, so not a good buy. The manual one's are the better buy.....
@@gerhardmeyer8891 it's really not that hard to figure out and with 3d printing, it would be easy to get most and part you would need
Don't waste your money on crap like this, either!🤨
@@joerosen5464 LMAO
If the automatic system fails very few people will work on them. The other issue with these record players, they just don't sound that good. There are plenty of great sounding players available new and old at every budget.
What that means is more stuff to break.
The $500 Onkyo home theater I bought six years ago does this.
In 1981, this turntable was proof of alien contact. 👽🛸
I used to have a good quality radio shack turntable that was automated. You would never touch the needle. Close the cover and use buttons to move the needle up/down or side to side. It was an opaque cover with a window to see the needle. It had safety features so you couldn't move it side to side while it was on the record. It would automatically lift first. Realistic LAB-2200
There's one more issue to consider. The audio output from a good quality old turntable is not a standard audio output. You need a receiver with a special input for a magnetic turntable. There were two kinds back then: Ceramic cartridge (normal signal) and Magnetic cartridge (weaker signal) which needs to be amplified by the receiver.
I thought this was just a given that most people knew this. This kid must have been born in the 2000s.
I'm 36 lol
😮
Hitachi was brilliant with technology
My Sony fh 808 r is the same
Start/cut ?
lol huh? No offense, but in what way am I supposed to be blown away? Or maybe it's because I was born in 1981, but I grew up with that, so it's the norm for me. I still have one of these even in my bedroom. lol
What would you recommend searching up to find one of these?
They're good features to have, but not worth trying to hunt down a fully working turntable. Not hard work to lift the needle and place it down yourself
What if you have a 12” record that needs 45rpm speed?
The disanvantage of all those features: the more of them you have, the more sources of failure and malfunction you get.😮
I had one of these types ❤
Extra fact time: Don't use the repeat function. Playing your records more than once without letting them rest will wear them out more than anything else.
Beautiful tech! Awesome "
My B&O does the same but by weight! If it lifts, it's a small record and the speed and position are adjusted accordingly. Also has a repeat button, and will repeat playing for however many times you press the button. (7 times is max) Just wish I didn't need to get a bank loan to buy a new stylus! 😢😂😂
In 1981 your options for music listening were rather limited and everything should be as easy as possible for a listener, therefore a lot of automatic thingamabobs appear. Quality of sound can be better or worse but you have what you have. In 1981 a turntable with an automatic starting, ending, flipping, wiping, tucking and kissing you to sleep sounds like a good turntable for daily use. In 2024 we have streaming services for those who want to listen to their music conveniently and lossless digitally remastered records at an unbelievable sample rate and bitdepth for those who prefer the sound of their voice and the aroma of their corks. Vinyl records are a physical alternative for those who want to take things slower. And those who produce the turntables know their audience very well. In 2024 a good turntable is a manual turntable and all these automatic features are seen for what they are, a novelty.
The modern Pioneer PLX1000 turntable is fabulous for $750
I just saw this exact set up at goodwill for 99 bucks
Lol store your records right
That record on top, george winston, i had that as a tape cassette and used to play it in my first car all the time. Great to see.
George is great! I got to see him in concert back in 2008
My 1980 MCS-6800 holds 6 albums and can be programmed to play up to 24 selected tracks between those albums. It scans each album with the end of the tone arm to see each track. Tech was better in the 80s?
Oh and it don't play any vynal.you put on it ... The clear won't work.lile you said
@@PInkSlipsRacingGTteam You can play clear, you just have to rotate the mat
Witchcraft.
There should be an updated version of this that has song select.
@@hellooutsiders6865 Those actually exist. Techmoan has some videos on them
Is the sound quality really worth it? I have to ask. I wonder if a cd player was hooked up to same speakers as record player, if u could tell the difference between cd and record. Curious, not trying to sound like a jerk. Don’t know about records.
@@NoThanksnothanks I have a copy of Daft Punk's RAM album and doing a side by side with a FLAC of the same songs it's really hard telling the difference between them
@@TokyoScarab thanks for that. I have a “NSM” German jukebox rocking CDS. Always feel like I’m missing out. The only Daft Punk album u need is “homework”. Masterpiece comes to mind.
@@NoThanksnothanks The only thing I changed on the record player in that video was put a new stylus and cartridge on it. It's not even anything terribly fancy, but even with that, the sound you get is really good
I had that exact system.
I have TA-E77ES, also uses the motorized volume control, I personally prefer this over a digital volume control. Nice setup btw
What about 12” records that operate at 45rpm.? What about that?
@@THEREFILLSBAND You have to press the speed button after the start button and it will play 45
@@TokyoScarab I thought it was fully auto? 🤪
Possibly true. But if you go to a charity shop, chances are it's going to need some work. Maybe a lot. Unless you are skilled mechanically and electronically, you are to pay a great deal to get it into working order.
...and its probably completely hollow on the inside
You don't know s...! Automatic anything just means more unnecessary shite that can break!
I kinda enjoy my manual table. The only automatic feature I would really want is auto return so I can fall asleep while listening and not worry about ruining my stylus.
@@brickson98m The nice thing with this is that if you want to manually drop the needle, you can still do that
@@TokyoScarab True, but when you have those auto features, you're more likely to just use those. You quickly forget about the joy of the manual nuances. Kind of like how many of us forgot about the joy in having and listening to physical media when digital music caught on. So, I feel this way: If I want convenience, I'll just play lossless digital files. Why go for half convenient? That's just how I feel about it, but I understand why someone would want a fully automatic turntable, especially if they haven't already subscribed to music streaming services, or don't already have a collection of high quality digital music, and vinyl is still what they have the majority of their music on.
I own (and still use) my Sony PS-X600 turntable. It's about as automatic as a turntable can get!.
Mention the brand, please. Is it Pioneer?
@@colloidalsilverwater15ppm88 Hitachi
And for those 12” 45 Rpm …
