A channel dedicated to my love of vinyl whilst showcasing some incredible artists along the way. I was first inspired to start collecting vinyl through channels like this. I loved searching on UA-cam for my favourite artists and watching and listening to videos of their albums being spun. After that I knew I had to get those vinyls and hear them properly for myself. Hopefully this channel and the whole experience can do the same for you.
Many artists will be featured across this channel across genres such as rock, metal, blues and country

Judas Priest - Ram It Down Vinyl Appreciation
When you think of Judas Priest albums, you probably don't think about this one. Whilst not on the level of Screaming For Vengeance, Painkiller or British Steel, it still comes in as not a decent effort. Originally scheduled as a double album, that idea got nixed and therefore Turbo and Ram It Down were born

Joe Bonamassa - The Ballad Of John Henry Vinyl Appreciation

One of the records that featured in my top ten inspiring records, this was my first introduction to modern contemporary blues. I forget how I came across the title track, but this was the first one I heard and I was hooked from there. I explored into this record and that was it. The talent of this man was evident and I was a fan from there. I've been lucky enough to see Joe play live a few time...

Whenever you think of the greatest ever metal records, this is usually up there. The third album by Metallica and this is the one that really helped put them on the map. After a rushed recording to put together Ride The Lightning, the band took their time and absolutely nailed this one. Three gigs in a month..I'm definitely making up for lost time here. This gig was absolutely incredible. Shawn James might not be an artist you're hugely familiar with, but I hope after this video you will be. A Chicago native, the mans voice is truly something special as was this whole night. I mean this when I say it, but this gig was truly up there with some of the best I've ever seen. Breath...

This album already features in my top ten most influential record list, and rightly so. The first ever Metallica track I ever heard came from this record and I was hooked ever since. This record expanded on the thrash sound already created with Cliff Burton becoming more involved in the overall sound and structure of the tracks which lead to the band including instrumentals, longer musical pass...

When people ask what my first musical memory was, it was simply this. Standing in front of the TV, probably in a nappy, watching the weird and wonderful CGI video for Money For Nothing. And from that moment, music was in my life and I loved it I was lucky enough to find this video in a record sale for cheap, so not knowing much else about this record bar that track, I decided to pick it up and ...

Grunge is a bit hit and miss for me. Theres some bands I love, some bands I really don't find love for. Soundgarden always fell into the former for me. So a bit of a departure from the usual records I put up on here and my first record that swings away from the normal rock, metal and country. It needs no introduction. One of the biggest selling records of all time with a staggering 35 million sold worldwide. This I was lucky enough to find in a record store sale and combined with two other records, cost me the grand total of £5. Money well spe...

Following his sacking from Sabbath, Ozzy didn't mess about in releasing his first solo album a year later. I picked this one up a record store in the Midlands new but have to be honest, this isn't the best quality pressing I have. Quite a fait amount of distortion on this one, which is a shame given the quality of the record. 2011 remastered reissue by Epic (US) Support the artist and find this...

AC/DC - High Voltage Vinyl Appreciation
Переглядів 1943 роки тому
The first international release by the band although technically their third release following two releases in Australia that they took from to make this album. It's raw, it's gritty, it's pure rock n roll filth, and it's the start of a formula that works for the band with simple riffs twinned with a simple but solid rhythm section. You know what you're going to get with an AC/DC record and wit...

My first live vinyl. I normally steer clear of live releases until I own a fair chunk of a bands back catalogue so that when I play the live release, I'm familiar with the music and it tells more of a story. Although I haven't dived into Motorhead on vinyl yet, I do own a fair chunk of their back catalogue on CD, including this masterpiece, which to me is one of the best live recordings out the...

I really like this album and would rate it higher, but non the less it’s a well done review.
Beautiful and bloodiest album🥰🤟
Hard to believe that dude in the red tights is laying down the foundation for songs like 'Symptom of the Universe' LOL!
You got a digital version here which I also have. I badly wanna get a second hand vintage copy and just have heard it at the store. Real analog magic, unfortunately it had massive crackle on it, so I didn't pick it up. Good luck finding one in good shape.
I've just watched this and wow it brought back some memories! It definitely pulled on the heart strings reminiscing this year in particular as we're the same age I'd not long left school. I'd love to sit in a pub and talk with you about our memories at download in 2004 🍻🤘
You should do Nirvana MTV unplugged vinyl appreciation :)
Which one do you prefer ozzy by himself or with sabbath?
Great one!
10/10.Masterpiece from start to finish. This LP should had sold millions copies.Looking in general the sales of their last LPs of Ozzy era it seems people did not reallyget Black Sabbath s genius music. They wanted more easy stuff to listen
Question Matt, is T-Bar or Mace going to be a future world champ?
It would be great if you could do more priest videos.
Hopefully that can be a reality as I get more priest records I've got my video on sin after sin on the channel if you haven't already seen
I like heavy metal, I'm a rocker also blood red skies. Judas priest is definitely my favourite band.
Awesome video, thanks so much for sharing this. I agree - Maiden belongs in any vinyl collection. Just subscribed to you! I've been doing some vinyl vids on my channel too - I actually did a review/unboxing for the new live album they put out from Mexico City.
Thank you for checking it out and the sub. Plenty more videos to come soon
Came out in year i was born and also a child-hood favourite as dad was often playing it. Dad actually preferred the re-mastered cd due to sound quality and some of the tracks were longer
I don’t remember masses about the full record bar the first couple of tracks and the video for money for nothing. I love the sound of this pressing. Easily the best sounding vinyl of my collection
@@vinylheaduk9439 well produced album unlike alot of todays with basic production but as you say maybe what folk prefer now
Very good review!!! The energy!! Wow eh!!! Thank you for sharing!!!!
Thanks for taking the time to watch. Appreciate it man
Baker, Shawn, and Sage on the same stage is so amazing - for not only the fans but for them... you can tell how much fun they are having. I REALLY hope we get that same lineup in the United States in 2022.
It was an amazing night. I saw the US dates start to roll out yesterday. I hope you guys do as well
Hey man, nice vid and review; Gutted you weren't able to see more of my mates drumming for Death Blooms - Check out his YT channel playing something a little different to Blooms ua-cam.com/channels/mqB9GFQ_xvZN1YpW-yuKWA.html Was a sweet night! Cheers, I'll drop a sub :)
Cheers man. Appreciate it. Nice, always on the look out for drummers channels
Played at 1.25x speed. Much better.
I remember how surprised I was when Damageplan came out but was so glad I saw them! What a great year 👍I also saw Slayer later that afternoon on 2nd stage so it was possible to see both!
Yeah I'm glad I did catch Damageplan. Would have regretted not getting to see Dimebag play live in my life. I can't remember who clashed with Slayer in the end. May have been Machine Head? I'm not sure on that one
Leeds wasn't bouncing, i agree with you. BUT - we had to wait in line for over 1 hour in the rain to get in, due to Covid restrictions, and the place was like an oven inside. The crowd sounded great and sang along to the songs, but in terms of 'bouncing', i guess everyone was exhausted and like you said in your opening video description, it was our first gig, for most, as fans for 19 months. Rome isn't built in a day my friend.
I dunno, friends at different shows I think had the same issue with covid queues and seemed to still haver the energy for it. I just thought that due to the long time waiting for a gig, people would have really let off steam for it. But I do agree on the singing. Can't knock the crowd on that front. I hope you had a good time
Classic
Could of been a side project for them, it would of been more appreciated. As for the record itself, love Shock Wave, Junior's Eyes, Johnny Blade, and Never Say Die. Air Dance isn't that bad, I actually like the jazz parts and the uniqueness of the song. And even to this day, I still once in a while randomly sing out the line Over To You, or oooohhhhh, its a hard road... hahah
Enjoyable weekend for me, only band i never enjoyed was marilyn manson, whish i had seen someone on the 3rd or 4th stage when he was on
Only ever seen Manson do one good show and that was back at Reading subbing to Maiden
Muse were a interesting one for sure, good at what they did but felt like they attracted alot of day trippers, not your normal download band. Paul stanleys voice seemed to be shot during kiss’s set
I didn't mind Muse all that much. Was a bit of fresh air I felt to the festival. Didn't;t enjoy Kiss all that much. Watching back on tv, Stanley's voice really wasn't great at all
Just picked this up from the record store by my house a few days ago. Really unique album, even amongst their own discography.
It grew on me. I don't think its my favourite up against FMTS or l'enfant but it still holds its own as a solid album
PART 1 - PUNK / METAL UPDATE ua-cam.com/video/kLMxKuPuRS4/v-deo.html
After the bizare layout of 2008 and weaker lineup really enjoyed this, a appropriate location and very strong lineup, sunday could easily have been a mor day from the 80s. Never thought i would see faith no more and skin. Had been a skin fan for years but they had split in the late 90s and never looked liked coming back and went down a bomb, had the makings of a big band but never were. Fightstar suprised me (nowt like busted), thunder set was long for a band in the tent. Good to hear a bit soft rock on main stage (journey) and closed out by def leppard who had not played at donington in over 20 year. Letdowns were marilyn manson, been dire since 2009 and anvil did nowt for me, a band living off a movie
I really enjoyed this one. Really enjoyed the new lay out and glad it stayed where it did. Still think that Slipknot set was one of the best headline sets we have got to see at download over the years and really enjoyed the vibe to the "classic rock" day on the Sunday. Even more so after the news of Dusty last night. Joey too given that
Only went for the friday but yeah a weird one seen the 2nd stage in a car park. Pleased kid rock threw a wobbler which meant disturbed and priest played longer. The saturday and sunday headliners never seemed big enough, mind i heard the festival in 08 was days away from been cancelled so better than nowt. im glad i never went the sunday to see lost prophets for obvious reasons.
I just picked up this very record an hour ago, can’t wait to sit and have a listening session on our Bowers & Wilkins setup😎🤘
Enjoy every second of it my friend
Like a few songs. I like Air Dance!. However the production is so bad its always coloured my judgement on the album.
Its an interesting album I would say. I think as time has gone on, both this and technical have drawn better judgement on them, but I understand why at the time they were slated. The material will never hold up to previous albums but I don't think its a weak album taking away the Black Sabbath label
The drums sound very live. I really like that. Original vinyl is to way to go on this one. Love Shock Wave
I recognise that Dude from attending many King Krab gigs too!!!!! 🤘
He’s always been ahead of the times on his musical discoveries
Great review Keep this up man!!!!

In regards to the covid testing, you take lateral and PCR on the day of the event ie 18th and you do this before you travel to the event? and 5 days after for the PCR?
No both tests are to be done beforehand and sent off and then an email or text proof to be provided when arriving on site. If you buy a ticket and don't pass then you'll get refunded
Discogs was game changing to me
Oh absolutely. Stumbled over it by accident one day and that was it for me. Could spend hours on it
@@vinylheaduk9439 I started with scanning barcodes on my collection and now I buy through it.
Don't like, I love a fun fact 🤣
On the whole a enjoyable weekend. Was baffled how tool headlined the friday after barely touring here, not my thing but good at what they did. Could not fault metallica, gnr were dire, a world away from the reformed lineup i saw in 2017 and 2018. I actually saw alter bridge and avenged sevenfold who were not that big at the time and they flew over my head. Would never have predicted how big they would come. Cant believe funeral for a friend subbed gnr, i saw the euros on big screen instead, plenty more had the same idea. The band seemed to nosedive on the following years. Fair doos to korn for carrying on without Johnathan. Also the first and only year there was major riots
I think with Tool it was generally based on that fact really. A huge band that barely tours will always likely draw people into a festival. Funeral sort of disappeared after that although I think they were a "secret band" in a later year. Thanks for checking out the videos. 2007's episode will be up live at 8pm tonight
Classic album during a good era for hard rock. No bad tracks on it
Agreed. Those first three tracks for me don’t really get any better
Love the country pieces, but can we stop the poor Dolly dissing 🤣

Glad i had left college by the time this was on, would have hated to have missed any of this. Apart from some bands out there depth on friday was spot on from billy idols comeback, the shock of how good sabbath still were, anthrax singer dressed as a red indian, nightwish been late and system of a down when they still rocked, cant recal seen them bairns play. Check out the highlights on my channel:
I wasn't too fussed missing the Friday in all honesty. Only Megadeth interested me. I still wish I could go back in time and relive Saturdays second stage with us all jammed in that sweaty tent
@@vinylheaduk9439 megadeth were the saving grace in amongst all the dross on the main stage the friday. Billy idol went down a storm in the 2nd stage, was rammed, i walked past the main stage after he had finished and feeders crowd seemed sparse
Love the enthusiasm / passion
Their new album 'Battle at the Garden's Gate' just debuted at #1 in the rock albums , vinyl albums charts, and now #5 in Billboard ..I discovered this band some months ago and as many I have become obsessed hahha ........they appeal to young and older people .......only problem the kind of hate they get is astonishing IMO specially coming from the Led Zep fans .......true they have a strong LZ influence .. not so much in the last album. .
Definitely agree with them coming away from the zeppelin influence as much on the new album
Awesome band and who doesn't like a drinking song 😂
1:25 Gojira is the japanese name for Godzilla actually, at first they were called Godzilla but in 2001, legal problems forced them to change its name. Anyway, nice video, it's my favorite album of the year so far.
Ah ok. Thanks for that. What other albums have you liked this year?
My 1st download and went to another 9 after this. 04 was small compared to what it become but would prefer a 2 day 3 stage lineup again, quality over quantity. Memories were korns spot on greatest hits type set, monster magnet been hampered by the wind, soils van broke down i believe hence the no show, iggy pops entertaining but bizare stage moves and the hour delay for metallica. How fun was it seen a band back then lower down the bill you would often never heard due to no spotify, youtube etc
It definitely was a great way to start my download adventure. I’d definitely say that quality over quantity is the way to go. I don’t think later years have been as strong at all, but then it comes down to I think, bands not getting to headline status. Yeah ok there are plenty of headliner status bands that haven’t been booked, but I’d like to see stronger lineups again. Which was your favourite year?
@@vinylheaduk9439 been a few faves. 2009 is one of them, that sunday could have easily been a old mor event
I liked the 09 Sunday on main. 2nd stage was equally as strong if you wanted something a bit heavier. 2010 was a strong year. Really solid headliners and then 2012 also was a great year
Cool artwork, cool record
Great vid, loved the enthusiasm
Sounds great, looking forward to the country
Thanks a lot. We will get some country going real soon
