My family vacation to Kiawah, South Carolina during summer 2018.
Hey Ryan, I'm looking around at how other people have been doing their travel videos as I'm assembling my own. I just happened to visit the BVI in 2024 also (November) and am putting together my video as well. My process has beens shoot a bunch of video (primarily GoPro, didn't bring a drone) and make the best of it. I got a bunch of good shots and expect to be able to make a decent video. I'm wondering what your approach is, I'm also curious if you licensed the music or just didn't worry about it. Nice videos by the way, it's fun to see a video-compadre out there. Eric
Hi Eric, thanks for the comment. I usually start by selecting a song and finding a remix of that song on SoundCloud that I can download for free. These videos are mostly created for fun so I am not worried about licensing the music to be able to monetize the videos. From there, I look through my footage to see what shots would fit during different parts of the song. For example, during a slower, build up section of a song, I would put in a more scenic and slower shot. When the tempo speeds up, I look for more action shots, trying to cut each clip at significant beat drops. Nothing special to it, just selecting clips that I feel go along with the music. Looking forward to seeing what you put together.

I would have loved to have a dron in Aruba.
Great video, I liked the iguana and the shipwrecks were outstanding.
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
