Kim Davis, Mike Huckabee & Same-sex Marriage
Kim Davis, the Rowan County, Kentucky clerk, has refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples in her county on the authority of her God. The four-time married woman claims the law is in conflict with her religious freedom.
I wonder if Kim Davis, Mike Huckabee and their ilk would have a problem with a Quaker holding the clerk’s office and refusing to issuing gun permits because their faith doesn’t condone anyone having access to guns?
How about a clerk who is a strict Catholic and feels that divorce is immoral? Would it be OK to deny a marriage license to a divorcee?
Would you have an issue with a clerk who is Muslim and won’t issue a drivers license to women because their god considers it to be an affront for women to drive?
And lastly, would a Christian who strictly believes that the Bible is the inerrant, inspired word of God, have the right to deny a marriage license to Kim Davis because of her obesity? The Bible clearly states in Proverbs 23:2, to “Put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a person given to appetite (i.e. if ye be obese). Clearly, the word of God says that she is an abomination in His eyes. If I were the clerk of Rowan County, I’m afraid I would have to deny her a marriage license because I wouldn’t want the Christian god to hold me responsible for signing a document that enabled her to pass her fat genes along to future children.

I purchased this LP by the Oak Ridge Boys entitled "Folk Minded Spirituals for Spiritual Minded Folks" in 1963; and it still remains one of my favorites.

I have long admired Eddie Adcock as a musician since I saw him playing with the Country Gentlemen at the Shamrock Bar in Washington D.C. back in the 60s. I have followed his work ever since. The selections here are from one of my favorite albums of his band "IInd Generation" recorded back in the 1970s. Hang in there, Eddie I hope all is going well with your health.

Mr. Dixon & the other singers did an excellent inspirational job of singing this fantastic gospel song written by Teddy Huffam. I don't know what some of the men in the background were laughing about, & seeming to make a mockery about. It was very very inappropriate & disrespectful.
Although this video is more then 20 years old, still even now its delightful watching it and seeing everyone vibrating and thrilled as they sing along with Jessy Dixon and his partners proclaiming heavenly news.
That was awesome.

I was so privileged to get to see this blessed and very talented Vestal Goodman sing. If anybody had the spirit of God on them, It was Vestal Goodman. She has a glorious voice. The entire family was blessed by God! Howard and Their Son were just as talented and I tell you that you truly missed out on this earth to miss hearing the Goodman's sing. One day, bless God, when we get to Heaven, we will once again hear Vestal Goodman sing. Her majestic voice will ring out all through the heavens!!!!

I still think the best combination was when the four were Tim Riley, Ivan Parker, Mark LeFevre, and Brian Free, the versions of Midnight Cry, and There Rose a Lamb is awesome with that harmony, but these four ain't bad at all either.

I remember the first time i heard Vestal simg. She brought so much light into my soul. I'm a Welsh Presbyterian Methodist and Vestal's voice brought me so much joy and it still does. Whenever i feel alone I listen to Vestal and i feel happy again. We were so lucky to have her beautiful voice in our hearts
