Mitsubishi Lancer CE 99 model automatic transmission fluid and filter change.
Hello everyone. This video shows you how i drained and replaced the old transmission fluid and filter on my CE Lancer using information that i gathered from sources on the net.
This method worked pretty well and the car feels great since the service. Kickdown is more responsive and much smoother through gear changes.
This method should work for all Spin on filter trans setups on CE and MR lancers and Mirages. I also note that this method will work on some Hyundai Excels and Grandeurs plus Mitsubishi FTO with spin on transmission filters.
Hope it helps you guys too. Enjoy and thanks for watching.

Great video. I have a 2014 roadster. I am have a question. How much tension should be on the return spring for the clutch? I have not taken my engine apart, but the return seems weak to me.

Before you even start I would highly recommend that you spray both of the bolts down with PB Blaster, liquid wrench, or something like that and let it set for a day or so. That should make the whole thing a little bit easier

runnig it on the coolant line flushes the fluid on the torque converter. doing that or running the engine with a dried up torqconverter is bad. it is generally okay to change just the ATF on the Pan at lest 3 liters will be on the ATF and in the Valve body. 5 liters is what is normally being replaced.

Hello, thanks for making these videos. I'm rebuilding a set I bought on Ebay and when I seen that spring clip you removed near the face of the piston (in front of the seal/dust cover) I was surprised...mine calipers did not come with any. What is the purpose of these? I guess to stop the piston from going in to the bore too far? If that is the case then I am screwed because I will not have the clearance I need for my pads and rotor to fit. Is it compulsory to use these clips? Thank you.

Great videos and very helpful, thank you. I had the same issue with non-op handbrake on new rear caliper kit. Took my calipers apart and found in my case , the bearing cage inside the piston mechanism was incorrectly manufactured. The roller bearing cage in my case consisted of 12 roller bearings instead of Benny's 3 balls. The stainless "cage" was crimped between each ball in my case to hold the balls in place. However, in my calipers they incorrectly crimped the "cage" too close to the ball and none of them were able to roll. I used a screwdriver to enable the balls to rotate freely.

    • @tabbycat_mimi

Yes, the filter is very very dirty after running almost 10 thousand kilometers, if you don't replace the filter there will not be any difference with not changing the oil.

At Mitsubishi we did a damper clutch judder fluid flush procedure. As soon as the trans started to spit fluid you would switch the engine off. Add 2.5 litres and pump it out again before topping up. TM/TN series.

Tried my lancer CE GLI coupe. New one was Silverline ff51SL from Repco. Leaked from the bottom again and again. There were 3 washers 3 rd one was smaller. But all were very flimsy. Any way because of the leaking hastily put the old one again without the housing. Going for the garage tomorrow. Why leaking from the bottom. I fastened the bottom nut as much as it put a mark on the new fuel filter bottom.

The 'Jackson Jolt' circuit does something similar on my 900 Sprint, using a relay, (powered by tapping into the start button wire), to supply positive battery voltage direct to the positive common connections at the ignition coils, to help overcome any possible voltage drops caused by the multitude of connection points and small wires on the standard loom. This circuit is only 'live' while the starter button is pressed and so doesn't interfere in any way during normal running and perhaps is only an aid for hard to start engines or when the battery is a little down. Either way, that, plus a lithium battery and new sprag clutch and my bike starts a lot easier these days.

Really good video. You did mention something about led relay function I put daymaker LED headlights on my 2005 classic and every time I RIDE it the 🔵 high beam indicator comes on. On low beam setting and does not go back off until I shut the bike off. By chance do you have a solution for this? I'm assuming another relay configuration? I just don't know where that relay is at and what to do with it or is there another possible solution if so thank you in advance
