DO NOT DO THIS! You will burn your house down. If your water heater goes out and you need hot water, build a small fire outside (like in a BBQ pit) and boil a pot of water on it. Then bring hot water in one pot at a time.

Unless you have the water just dripping out, it would be moving too fast through the tube to provide any heating effect.
