Baggage claim & TSA line again? when you re-enter the US.
Переглядів 414 місяці тому
When flying from an international destination back to the United States, do you have to go to baggage claim and then the TSA line again? When I was researching Main Cabin Extra’s perks on American Airlines, the picture on their website shows the overhead bin space is reserved from such customers. This was appealing to us, since we only packed in carry-on luggage and didn’t want to worry if ther...

Is that the charge adaptor you got from Ford or an aftermarket adaptor?
It’s the original one from Ford that we got with Chad’s Lightning. I still haven’t gotten mine yet. They’re on back order. Ford says not to use the one we have but we haven’t had any issues. (Buuuuut, we do not charge publicly very often)
We’re about to drive ours 1300 miles one way! I’m super excited for it
That’s awesome! Let us know how it goes! Have fun 🤩
I hear using the Tesla chargers for other car is very expensive. More than gasoline.
We have not noticed this in our case. We usually just charge at home for daily use. This trip was more affordable than our previous gasoline vehicle.
I just got mine 2weeks ago. I got the extended range but I’m scared to take it to a long drive
YAY! 😄 I’m so happy for you! Welcome to the EV family! 🚙 I was scared too in the beginning, but we’ve taken about 3 long distance trips to the coast and don’t fear long journeys anymore. Thanks for watching! 📺
What do you think the cost would have been with a gas vehicle? Enjoyed the video
In our previous gas vehicle, we’d pay about $120; $60 there $60 back. Thanks for watching! 😊
Can I ask how many miles in total was the trip?
I’d guess about 530 miles total
How’d it go? Was it able to fit under the seat ? 😅
It sure did! 😊 Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the review! At 4:08, would you mind telling me the name of the black backpack on the left? Thanks so much!
Thanks for watching! It’s the Lovevook Mini 11 inch in Black (upgrade). It’s 9" L x 6.5" W x 12" H (Mini Size)
Thanks for this! ❤
You’re welcome! Hope it helps 😊
thank you for sharing. I'm looking for a Mach-E exactly like yours (still debating with my wife between white and red paint), but it's gonna be in mid 2025, so I am likely taking the new model with heat pump. That's quite helpful, specially seeing the Blue Cruise in action :)
Thanks for watching! Glad we could help 😊
that's a weird video filter or whatever that is
Thanks for watching! 😊
What a fun weekend! Texas highway speeds are wild. My one suggestion is to always try to use the Supercharger stall farthest to the right if you can, that way you reduce the chances that more than one stall gets blocked. Hope to see more road trip adventures!
Thanks for the tip! We'll try to remember that! 😊 Thanks for watching!
Nice video you guys, I bought my 23 prem with just under 5k on it, I really like this car. I'm retired and this is the first time in forever that I haven't had a truck and it's also my 2nd ford, my first one was a 68 mustang that I bought for 800.00 when it was like 3 years old
Thanks for watching! Enjoy your new ride 🚙! $800?! Wish these cars cost $800; that’s just the car payment now.😒 Ah, the good ol’ days 🥹
Just bought one last week and already scared to go on long trips. Also it’s expensive at $ 0.64/kwh. $64 to go 200 miles.
Thanks for watching! Check out our other EV videos 😊
long road trips and towing trailer is not the strong points of lightning. It is duable but not ideal, however if you are driving less than 250 miles a day and if you have home charging capabilties it is one of the sweet vehicle you can buy and drive now specially with 20k off of msrp. it fits my life style and i am loving it. i do tow about 50 miles once a week and i am mostly under 200 miles a day, i have home charging pro installed on my carport right next to my truck. i feel like ford made the best truck and i adore it. feels like an s class truck i thought my 21 lariat ecoboost was the most comfortable vehicle ever. now my 24 lightning flash feels like another level
@@bekiro28ride is smooth and love the instant acceleration. I charge at home for 0.0658 /kwh which equates to $6/week on average. Haven’t taken it on long trips but I’ll just use my other vehicle for that.
@ long road trips are possible too if you are not in a hurry. You just Gotto be more patient with time that's all. I think it worth to take a trip with the lighting because how roomy and comfy is. I don't understand why some people patiently hating it Man. Why? If it doesn't fit your lifestyle, there is nothing wrong with choosing an Ecoboost f150 over this wft😂
@@bekiro28 we bought it for cost savings. It costs more than gas engines that's why.
There’s a tesla super charger in Corpus Christi. Maybe 12 stalls by chik fil a. It’s been reported that lightnings/tivians/mach e’s have charged there
is it actually waterproof? i need somthing that will protect my laptop from rain.
The product description from Amazon says it’s “water resistant”, not “waterproof”. I’ve walked short distances in the rain and it’s been fine, but maybe take precautions to prevent tech damage. ☂️ 💻 Thanks for watching! 😊

Welcome 😊 Thanks for watching!
I'm a Lightning owner, and I love it . What's your wheel and tires spec? I love how it looks. Thanks

Thanks for the video!
You bet! Thanks for watching!
We have 22,000 miles on our Lightning & we’ve never had to get an oil change🎉🎉🎉🎉
Yup! 🥳🥳🥳 The only fluids we add are the windshield wiper fluids 😆
I just got my Ford Lighting over a Tesla. Love the car but man does Tesla have charing locked down. Better than anyone else out there.
I know right?! Thanks for watching!
That is an AWD. Great video though.😊
Thanks for watching! 😊 “X” is Extended Range, “4X” is eAWD+Extend Range. Mine is just an “X”.
Thank you for the review! I just got the sling bag/backpack as an add-on to my travel backpack, which is also from Lovevook. It‘s the perfect combination for weekend trips using public transport, in my opinion: The travel backpack can either go in the luggage rack or under the seat while the sling bag/backpack stays with me. I can wear it as a sling bag while travelling to my destination, and once I‘m there, I can use it as a backpack as I stroll around to visit museums and the like. It‘s one of very few sling bags I found that can fit an 11“ tablet, which is what I was looking for because I want to have the option to take it with me as I stroll around.
Yes! I had the same idea of packing it in my carryon to use as my daypack/purse
If that’s the X then it has AWD not rear drive.
RWD is standard for this model. eAWD is optional, but I did not opt for it. I did, however, opt for the Extended Range 91 kWh battery.
X is Extended Range, not AWD. 4 is AWD. X4 ist Extended Range with AWD.
great review, i would consider the mach-e but lack of ventilated seats has drop them off my list...
Thanks! and thanks for watching! They are the perforated ActiveX seats, but not cooling. I’m always cold 🥶, so I rarely use that feature in Chad’s Lightning ⚡️
Does the California route 1 and the GT have the largest battery of the lineup??
Technically, the Mach-E Select and Premium models have the option of 72 kWh or 91 kWh. Everything else comes standard 91 kWh, but the Premium has the longest range 91kWh of about 300 miles. I get about 315 miles.
Does the colour get dirty easily?
Surpisingly, no! It still looks great after this last trip; no scrapes or scuffs… but I’m not trekking through the dirt with it. lol Thanks for watching!
yeah,breathtaking . have a good day-😇
thank you for watching!
My thoughts exactly on political crap. Screw the people who think all of that. I’m a VET I’ll do what I want. I like the technology. Not going to the gas station and dropping $75 for a half tank (36 gallon). We have a ICE SUV for long trips.
Great Q&A on the Lightning. After 2 years I average 2.4 mi / kWh but in California that’s a bit easier with the weather and heavy commute traffic. The reason there is no eco mode is that the motors are permanent magnetic. They would need a clutch disconnect or an induction motor for an eco mode. Unfortunately there won’t be a way to make that better with an OTA. For Tesla Charging, the V2 are the older 150kw chargers and are not CCS. The V3 that we have access to, are 250kw and have to have been updated to support CCS and have a meter installed for billing so that’s why most but not all are open to us atm. The 24 models do have the heat pump btw. Keep em coming 👍
Thanks for all that info! 😊 and thanks for watching! Stay tuned for future EV vids on the Lightning and Mach-E 😊
This is a great illustration of knuckleheads grossly overpaying for these EV vehicles. These EV vehicles are now losing value as quickly as these inadequate batteries are discharging. Can anyone imagine searching for a charging station and delaying your journey for an hour each stop and then praying to God that another charging station is within range and if so, are the stations available. Certainly no way to travel-no way to live. Again, these sheeple deserve all the frustration and devaluation derived from this vehicle-BAA BAA.
Great Q&A! Not sure if it’s been answered but, do you find the leveling kit affects the BlueCruise?
Thanks for watching! No, Chad said none of the mods have afffected the Blue Cruise. It works great 👍

Hi! Do you have links?
Thanks for watching! 😊 Sorry, I forgot to put the links up. They’re there now, please see the first pinned comment. 😊
Great video, I've noticed from experience with my lightning that if I wanted to get closer to the 320 estimated range for just HWY driving alone I would have to drive 65MPH in ideal conditions, if I wanted to over exceed then I would have to drive 60MPH. Obviously I know people don't want to drive the speed limit or slower than the speed limit. But the faster you go, the more your range Dips. At 70MPH I range from 1.8 - 2.0 miles per KWH.
Good to know; thanks for sharing! and thanks for watching!
Thanks for the vid, Im wanting a extended range F150 and I current live in CC... I dont travel much, but Id like to travel to SA...that Three Rivers charger was the one I planned to use. Sadly, it seems traveling would be a bit rough unless you stop at that Beeville location to top it off. I think the Beeville charger isn't available 24/7 either. There is hope though, I read online they're gonna build another charging location between CC and SA. Hopefully, thatll be soon. Is yalls lightning an extended range? Im assuming it is. Is it worth getting, or, is there just not enough charging stations in TX yet?
Thanks for watching! Yes, our lightning is the extended range one. It's only 166 miles from the Tesla Supercharger at La Palmera in CC to the Tesla Supercharger at The Rim in (north west) San Antonio. There are plenty more charging stations in SA too. You could make it, for sure in the extended range. I would charge to 100% in CC and top off when you get to SA.
Nice video guys! You covered some very important information. I really like how you set up your lightning. Nice wheels! White on black. That storm trooper look! Thanks for mentioning me. If you don’t mind subscribing and let’s stay in touch. I have been driving EVs since 2017. I started with a gen 1 used 2014 Chevy Volt then went to a gen 2 2016 Volt. Then I purchased my wife a used 2014 Model S performance with the free super charging for life. Then i purchased a 2018 rwd Tesla Model 3 for myself. I put a 100k miles in a year and a half. I now have a very efficient 2023 Chevy Bolt 2LT. I have saved 1000s over the years. Keep up the good work !
👍
Nice. I need to test out my a2z tesla supercharger adapter. I love my truck.
Yeah, let us know!
I would like to say thanks for the video. But I would like to ask if the Texas heat has had any impact on battery performance or range?
Thanks for watching! Please check out our new video that answers your question
I did a 300+ video with my lightning ER and its just an inconvenience for me trying to charge. I rent a vehicle when doing road trips.great video
thanks for watching!
Also what efficiency are you getting with that setup? Like what’s you’re average Miles/kWh?
I believe it’s between 1.5-1.7 kWh. Stay tuned for a new video next week, where Chad answers y’all’s questions in better detail than I can 🤓
If you see “150 kW” at a Tesla charger, it’s a v2 station. Only v3 stations are compatible and they’ll be listed as 250kW.
Thanks! Good to know! 😊
What type of wheel and tire setup do you have? The other mods look great also. Thanks
