How To Stratify Lavender Seed For Better Germination
Переглядів 24 тис.2 роки тому
Raw Lavender seed requires "stratification" for proper germination. Failure to do this will result in either very poor or zero germination. Many blame the seed supplier for poor germination as they do not understand the requirements to germinate this seed. Please note that this stratification process does NOT apply to Apex-Primed seed.

Clears it up exactly thank you, now all we have to do is convince wholsellers to sell plugs and liners to the general public which they rarely do except for annuals and veg. Plugs and liner plants I feel establish themselves better and planting requires minimal disturbance to the soil and surroundings. I would rather get a plug or liner than a fully finished flowering plant in a gallon or quart pot also simply because producers mess around with growth hormones to produce a sturdy bushy plant that is not too high and full of of flowers. These hormones take forever to grow out and mostly retard establishment in your soil completely so the plants die or die soon after the flowers are finished. That's just a waste of money. Serious gardeners want plants to thrive not use them as throw away fillers that last three weeks. Just wish i could buy Salvia plugs because I'm so sick of finished plants covered in flowers dying in a few weeks after the flowers do.

I’m hesitant to stratify in soil in a bag. It seems like it would be a nightmare to separate out the seeds to transfer into cells afterwards. Is it not as bad as I’m imagining? Is there a trick to it? If so could you show how?
