Pastoral Cows-Time Lapse, Oil Painting, Where Detail Meets Impressionism
Pastoral Cows uses a combination of detail and impressionism. Allowing brushwork and softness to coexist on the same canvas. Beginning with a light drawing of shapes for placement on a toned canvas of raw umber and gesso, this is my painting process for this painting. Please feel free to comment or ask questions. I hope you enjoy the video.

February can seem so long. I finally sat down with a photo reference of Grindstone City in Michigan where we would run to every chance we could through the summer months. Our oasis away from home. Titled “Chasing Summer”. 9x12 oil on stretched canvas.

Fantastic piece here. You have some super rich, deep color work; especially the reds in the rose. So saturated- this is really well done. -Best of luck on your art and your channel, and much support from one artist to another. Liked and subbed.

This is a great video, LLindall1! I really like how you used masking tape to create shapes! That is so clever and you've really inspired me to experiment with paints and masking tape! I've liked and subscribed to your channel so keep up the amazing work! ❤️

Hello. That's very nice! How did you manage the "wet on wet" effect in the background, without touching both white areas? If you want, you can have a look to my butterfly as weel :-) ua-cam.com/video/w3po-09FM5A/v-deo.html

Hi Steve, Sorry for the late response to your question. Here's the answer: I wet the area to be painted with water then carefully go up to the existing painted area after it has dried. The paint will only flow where it is wet. It leaves a hardened edge. Hope this helps. By the way I saw your video and thought it was very exciting and energetic. Thank you for posting your comments.
