That knocking sound is the cam. Exhaust lobe. You didn’t change oil enough.

If you still have this and haven't suffered from the notorious petcock issue I'd be amazed. Best thing you can do is the raptor 660 petcock conversion PN# 5LP-24500-01-00 Be sure it's a genuine Yamaha part. Chinese knock offs have a smaller outlet and will cause fuel starvation when rippin on it hard(as in race or dune running) it'll start to lean out. Best $50 I spent on mine! And it has an Off position!
