letting John Amos go from good times was the biggest mistake Norman Lear could have done , the last episode end of the Rainbow would have been better with James Evans could have gotten out of the Ghetto also something like James came home one day with a better job that paid a whole lot more , maybe as a supervisor on the job & they were able to move to the north side where Keith & Thelma were moving to & also Willona & Penny & knowing he was gonna be a grandpa , would have been much happier

If Good Times was true to its viewers, Florida would have gone to where James was killed to find out what happened and the family would have found out Alderman was reponseable.

In my head, James lived and everything that happened after that was not really Good Times. If it were up to me, if they were to make a REAL reboot of this show his character would need to stay on.

I just recently found the Bea Arthur version. It's not great but I still thought it was cute.

Losing my grandfather John P Hillary had a similar feeling to this one, because he was a strong pillar in our household. Especially taking over once my mother passed.

fred clark and larry keating f were the best harry mortons. fred clark really played up the “good ol american college grad” well. he felt like the kind of guy you’d run into at a stag party, loud, brash but refined to an extent. larry keating played up the high brow parts of the role, feels like the kind of guy you’d run to at a function sponsored by alumni, who ropes you into a conversation about accounts accounting or something intellectual to him but boring for everyone else.

Larry Keating was the best. Loved his wry intellectual replies and use of his broad vocabulary. He really acted like a CPA.

The show was dying before James died.

They killed him off because Norman Lear was a propagandist and he didn't want a strong male paternal characters anymore, he only wanted to portray men as cuckolded idiots from then on... and that's why we still have men portayed as morons on tv to this day. Norman Lear was allowed to steal all his shows from hit British TV shows because he was a Marxist plant.

It would have been great to see all of these characters in the same season! Not to mention the less explored detectives like Wilson, Wentworth, DeLuca, Battistia, Licori, and Dorsey.

They really put those pies to work something serious..my goodness..😂
