    This is a very good video explaining this hair type. I think I'm a 1c or 2a hair type. I'm almost 60 years old and have just discovered diffusing and volumizing mousse for the first time about a month ago. I have been cutting my hair in layers with fringe myself for years. I used to use a bed head waver or curling irons and that added some volume but diffusing gives me soooo much more body and I love the waves. I always thought I had such straight hair. Another video about diffusing medium length hair withlayers and fringe would be great. I still have alot to learn. Thanks so much!!!

    Please forgive and delete my inquiry as I found the products on line - I can't wait to get them next week! In the meantime, I'm going to watch this video a million and one times - it's the best! Thank you SO much!

    Where can I purchase these products? I checked Amazon (I live in Rhode island - wish I could come to you!) and can't find any of the Deva products that you show in this video. They have Deva products but with different names. I was already to order everything you show tonight, but am totally confused when I looked on Amazon. Have they renamed/repackaged the products? I finally embracing my waves (type 2A) and need all the help I can get! Thanks so much for this video - it's the best I've ever seen! Best wishes for continued success!

    " deva curl Clips": just like your grandmother used to use. 😀 Marketers are nuts lol.. but they work, that is why they have stood the test of time. They are just generic old things, though. I hope DC isn't charging an arm and a leg

    Why does everything have to have a new word, like “Swavy”. It’s the same thing as wavy so just say wavy.

      Try a light handed application of glycerin free, hard hold gel. For example, Aussie Instant Freeze is a hard hold gel. Scrunch it into wet hair and then micro plop. Dry with a diffuser on low heat. Once your hair is fully dry, scrunch out the crunch with your hands.

    First video that I see featuring the same hair type as I have. I'll share what works for me as I see here's a lot of people with the same problem. First of all, use shampoos without silicones, parabens, etc. That's my number one tip. I love Shea Moisture's Extra Moisture Retention shampoo, a game changer. I just skip conditioners and jump straight to mask, love the Briogeo Don't Despair Repair mask, it does wonders. After hair mask is on, I use a heated cap (don't know how it's exactly called) as I have low porosity hair (I think most of 2A type has that, just google low porosity hair, it will blow your mind), so it needs heat to open the hair follicle in order for mask to absorb. After hair is washed, I let it dry for few minutes and then put some creme and gel in it. I use Briogeo curl charisma leave in creme and frizz control gel. Afterwards I use a blowdryer on cold setting and that's it. Let me know if you try this. I struggled with my hair for years and only now I feel that I have a great routine that I can share with someone experiencing the same problem.

    She has nice wavy hair! Mine is usually an unpredictable poofy mess. I usually straighten it but it’s getting so damaged from all the heat. But I never like how it looks natural 😞

    WAY too much frizz for that much work. Definition is good but half that volume is just hair that doesn't have a clump, which is why it looks kinda messy.

    Wow! Fantastic video! I would love to see one for a chin length, 2C swavy girl. I would say 90% of the videos out there are for long 3+ curly girls. I seriously learned so much in so few minutes from you. I wish you were in California.

  • @GraceCutie_

    I like the waves themselves, but they're a lil frizzy

  • @denisedeharenne1270
    @denisedeharenne1270 5 років тому

    The final result is not that spectacular... I was hoping to see really defined waves but it's pretty much frizzy. I do know it's impossible not to have frizz but if this is the "official" deva curl salon (because they're using only deva curl products) i cannot wait a lot from my poor products and technique. I don't think this is incredible helpful because it's exactly what I'm not searching in defining my 2A hair

    I don't understand why every curly girl method has to make more curls, can it not just make the natural soft waves more prettier rather than trying to change the texture, it's so annoying that they try to manipulate the natural wave and try to make it more curly. To be honest, her hair looked better, less frizzier and shiner before the CG method, after the CG method it just looks like she woke up from a long nap with frizzy and messy bed hair with some curls here and there and also all the shine in her hair is gone that was there before... 😔

    The one thing I noticed was that you didn't wrap you hair like most do. This video was a lot more clear to me than what I have seen before. Might just be because I'm fairly new at it. I subscribed. Hope you post some more videos. My hair is less curly than yours... so not sure if the system is the same.
