Agree with the Emcast clicker volume--way too quiet

I have both the Daiwa and shimano baitrunners. The quiet baitrunner clicker on the Daiwa drives me crazy😖. I’ve had fish or current pull line and I was unaware.

My frustration with the Daiwa is the quiet baitrunner. I had a fish running with my bait and didn’t even know it because I was a few step away from my rod.

You can adjust the spool height. It’s adjustable at least on the d series and above to accommodate where you want your line to stack.

Thanks for sharing I have the Daiwa Lexa. I was thinking of get an accurate 300 because of the extra power in drag. How easy is the accurate at casting? Or should I just get another Lexa?? It’s for fishing yellow tail in the 20-35 pound range.

was size lexa do you have ruben? i have an old style lexa 300 hd like the one in this video and i bought the lexa 40 hd new style this year. the 400 hd is definitely strong enough to fight those bigger fish, ive landed 22 pound yellowfin just on my lexa 300. the only downside is the 400 feels a lot bigger than the 300, but the 400 will still feel smaller than an avet or accurate. the open face conventional will cast better than a levelwind/baitcaster but for lobbing a live bait you dont need to cast a mile.

How many times can you turn the drag knob (secondary drag) on the Daiwa? Can you get it decently tight? I have the Shimano model at and I can turn the secondary drag knob a couple times and it is pretty good. Easy 2lbs.

How has the Daiwa Emcast held up for you?

My friend got me the Daiwa Lt Br for Xmas...thought it would be worth mentioning that it came with 2 spools in the box

On the Daiwa, is there alot of flex in the stem of the reel? I've noticed that in their LT line up with the carbon light frames, the stem that connects to the reel foot flexes alot. Especially on their larger sized bodies. Almost to the point I'm afraid it could break. I believe the emcast is made of the same carbon light material. I guess daiwa had to sacrifice material to make the body lighter.

So would you recommend the Daiwa. The other Daiwa Regal bit n run were ok reels. They were $60 reels so i wasnt expecting a bunch. I believe Daiwa was trying to come in at $100 so small sacrifices probably came into play. I wonder if the free spool would loose up once the reel has some use. Im still thinking about purchasing it tho. My other reel after 10 years of fairly hard use is on its last leg so i need a replacement.

I definitively recommend the Daiwa. It’s in its own class at 100$. I think it will work as well as the Shimano OC. Time will tell.

Thanks its high on my list. Debating between that an a slightly used but cheaper Shimano reel...Although im leaning towards the Daiwa.

Thanks a lot, mate! Great job. But I have a question. Is there a handle screw in drive gear in new Daiwa Emcast? For me this is very important issue. If it looks like Shimano OC it would be nice.

it’s not a screw in handle like the OC. It goes all the way through and the nut on the other end holds it in. So far the design feels just as good. That design does tend to loosen itself, unlike the screw in configuration which never loosens up unless you spin the handle in the wrong direction. Other than that it feels just as nice of a reel as the Shimano OC and actually feels smoother.
